Small. Loud. Cheap. Transparent. Perfect.
So after playing a few gigs with a daisy-chained 25 watt Fender Rumble and a 35 watt Ibanez Soundwave 35, it was very painfully obviously time for an actual gig-worthy amp that was both powerful enough not to need being run through external sound and both small and cheap enough for me to afford, and be able to move. I did not like the idea of having to move another full bass stack like when i was back in highschool. I already had a 250 watt cabinet from Seismic Audio - great little 4x6 with lots of punch for both guitar and bass, but I didn't have anything that would really push the cabinet.I looked into combos and micro amps and large heads and decided the thing that mattered the most was just the right power and size to be immediately portable. The Trace Elliot ELF was looking promising until I saw this and it checked a lot of boxes - less than two inches tall and six inches wide means it fits in the gear trap of my bass case. 200 watts means it's got plenty of juice for larger shows. It's dead-simple to use with only a bass/mid/treble EQ and gain/volume combo. What I didn't expect to work so well is its' compatibility with smaller amp cabinets (I have a tiny 35w 8" cabinet I use for a modified Blackstar Fly3 Bass) and at low volumes it still kicks out plenty of low end through that. Be careful though - I'm fairly certain I'd be able to shred that little cab with too much volume. I also didn't expect the DI out to be so massively useful. I was able to take my bass case, nothing else, with me, to a recording session and go direct into an interface and the SOUND. Dear lord the TONE. It was this perfect, sparkling, rich, punchy bass tone that wouldn't be out of place on either a smooth jazz record or an aggressive metal album (you'd be surprised how many things those tones have in common on bass). It was a sound I'd been hunting for since I was like 15. And I have it now.I'll never need another amp, I feel. This is well worth the money for any size rig, and the absolute confusion on their face when you hand someone this little box and go "yeah that's a 200 watt monster" is just an added bonus.

TC Replaces Genz Benz!
What’s to dislike...I would have sent it back if I had dislikes.I replaced my Genz Benz power head with this TC because the Benz was having to operate at low volume in the church band which to me is a waste of a good amp. This little guy TC is perfect as it has less power which means I can run the amp volume up which gives the output more body (power) being utilized. I will save the Benz for the bigger jobs! With TC we be jammin for Christ!

This is the best deal in a mini Class D bass head
I was looking at a few offerings in the 200 watt range for rehearsals, lessons and small gigs. I wanted something to power a single 10" cabinet and my main criteria were size, weight, volume and tone. The other 200 watt options w/ similar features (Trace Elliot, Warwick, Phil Jones, GK et al) are 30-50% more expensive and not nearly as compact. The TC BAM200 sounds great and has some beef if needed. This amp won't work well in anything larger than a 50 seat room but in the right environment it's really tough to beat. For well under $200 (as of June, '22) where else can you get paperback-sized two-lb dynamo like this?

Little, loud and proud.
The TC Electronic BAM200 is a micro bass head with 200 watts. That is more than enough power for most gigs. Need more? Use the XLR output. This amp is also a DI BOX and you can have the sound man hook you up to the sound system. Need to practice quietly? The BAM200 is a powered headphone amp. Play and not wake up anyone. You can record with the BAM 200 too. This amp does a lot for a small price. Works great with my 215 cab. I will be getting the TC Electronic 208 cab for a more compact rig. This was a great choice for my needs.

Great Basic Bass Amp
I have been a gigging bass player for over 40 years. I gave up my 30 lb SWR head a few years ago for a TC RH 450 to reduce the weight and increase features. The old SWR workingman that I use for rehearsals finally gave out. It would cost $150 to fix it. Then I found this. I am glad I did. It sounds great, is loud enough to cut through the mix in my LOUD rock band, (I have the gain at 11 o'clock, and the main volume at 3 o'clock) and fits in the pocket of my gig bag.so I can take it to gigs as a backup. Would I use this as my main gigging amp, no. However, for rehearsals, an in prompt to jam session and as a backup; you can't beat it for the money.

All you need.
It is great. Clean bass tones for days. I run it through a 4x10 cab and it is loud! I bought it for the price but I think everyone should have one at least as a back-up. I play bass through it primarily but also use it as my back-up keyboard amp. All the knobs have a good amount of range in tone shaping.

Maybe all the amp you need
I’ve been downsizing all my amps for years as technology allows. My very first bass amp was a Fender Bassman with a 1x15 Alembic-design cabinet; my last purchase was an Eden WTX260. I was looking at the Trace Elliot ELF, and then I spotted this tiny amp. At half the cost of the ELF, could buy two of these and have a complete backup amp for the same price. No one local had one in stock, so I took a chance and ordered one, figuring even if I hated it I wouldn’t be out that much.Turns out I really like it. While it’s not as flexible in EQ as the Eden, and it lacks a compressor, it’s less than half the size of the Eden, and really has all the tonal control I need. And it has one feature the Eden doesn’t- a 10 Megohm input impedance, which makes it compatible with piezoelectric pickups. It works very well with the Fishman pickup on my upright as well as with my P-bass. I’m currently using it with a 10” Eden ETX110 cabinet and an older 12” coaxial Eden, and this little amp will drive either one alone or the two together as loud as I need. With a well-designed 8” cabinet this would make a superb minimal rig for practice, jamming, and acoustic gigs.

MUCH better than going direct into your preamp
If you've ever struggled with getting your bass "right" in your mixes because it's just too clean and uncolored, and you don't want to ruin it by squashing it with compression, and you don't need an actual head since you are only using it in the studio, then this is the cheap solution. Balanced output makes all the difference. Great addition to any home or project studio.

Compacto y poderoso

Super portable y buena potencia
Compacto, bonito y potente, lo mejor que trabaja a 4 omhs con un gabinete a 4 omhs le sacas toda la potencia. Cabe en la palma de la mano.
