Q: Will my cat ride it around the house?

No. Cats will only ride on this when it is outside.

Q: When SkyNet eventually takes over, will my Roomba turn on me and try to kill me?

Skynet can not interact with the 650 however the 980 will take control and try to kill you. But you can outrun it unless you bought the optional machine gun option.

Q: I have two large labradors that shed A LOT. How does the Roomba do with large amounts of hair?

I have 2 90lb mixed breeds, a long hair Chihuahua and 2 long haired cats and I think the Roomba is the best thing since sliced bread!! I do get my 2 big dogs groomed every 3 months to keep their hair short cause they look better and it makes it easier to check for ticks and give them baths. It picks up the hair, dirt(which we get a lot of since we are working on our yard) and other debris. I am very happy with it. Cant stand a gritty feeling on the floors-I have hard floors and a couple of small rugs-and Roomba takes care of that. If you have large amounts of hair you may need to empty it more often but I definitely reccommend it-makes life easier!!

Q: Does it stop when encounter black carpet?

Roomba 650 definitely stops on black carpet. Was amazed at how well it navigates over raised wooden transition on wood floors between rooms but stopped when it hit black portion of patterned carpet. Would not run even if it was placed directly on black carpet. Understand need for sensors but very disappointed this known problem has not been fixed.
