CODi Checkpoint Friendly cases are designed to save time and eliminate hassle while navigating airport security. CT3 cases feature two distinct compartments hinged by military grade ballistic nylon, which allow the case to lie flat while passing through airport x-ray machines and eliminate the need to remove the laptop from the case.* Travelers can simply grab the case from the conveyor with one hand and go - the case secures itself with a zipper between the compartments.

A high quality computer bag at a decent price
This is a very well constructed, high quality computer bag. Whether it passes the airport test remains to be seen. I think it may be better to drop this function and reduce bulk/weight a little. Also, it would have been nicer if some inner pockets had zippers for valuables (like in their messenger bag for 14 inch computer) . I was very happy with that messenger bag for years until my computer outgrew it. The only complaint I had with it was the bag was not lockable. I have been waiting for CODI to come out with a slightly larger, lockable version but they never did. (Ironically, CODI sells locks. You can make a bag anti-theft at a minimal cost). In the meantime, I went through about 5 bags none of which matched the CODI quality. So, I finally got this bag and I think I will be happy with it for years. If CODI comes out with a lockable, anti-theft bag, I will buy again.

Great Price for High Quality and Well Designed Bag
I use this bag as my daily carry for work and I am fairly hard on my bag bringing it back and forth daily to the office and out to client meetings and events. I had a Tumi bag for 14 years that was a great bag (and back in 2004 when I got it cost at least 5 times as much as I paid for this bag) and was at the end of its life. I replaced it with another Tumi bag that I got on sale and had an additional discount coupon and it still was $325 (with a salesman telling me what I great deal I got LOL). After a few weeks of using the new bag I noticed that the quality and construction were not the same as my old Tumi bag and I was also frustrated at the lack of thought in the design of inside compartments (or should I say lack of pockets/compartments) on my new Tumi bag. I later found out that in 2016 Tumi was sold to Samsonite, who makes a variety of lower end bags and luggage. It seems like they have been doing cost cutting under Samsonite since the ballistic material is much lower quality and that many of these changes were to the detriment of the quality and design Tumi previously had (again my personal opinion). Luckily I had a friend who had received a Codi bag as a corporate gift and loved it. She showed it to me and it had well thought out compartments and designs within the pockets to hold electronics and chargers/cords etc. and was constructed in a high quality manner. So I decided to order one since the bag was less than $70. I am so glad I bought this bag. First of all the construction and quality is great and reminds me of my old Tumi bag. The bag is light weight but well constructed with heavy ballistic materials. The internal pocket and compartment designs are great as well. I am able have my portable battery charger in one of the pockets and still access a cord to charge my phone or iPad without digging everything out. It does a great job carrying files and folders I need for meetings as well. I haven't gone through security at an airport with it yet but the way it unzips to lay flat makes it look like it will be a breeze because something actually thought about that when they designed the bag. I fully recommend Codi bags. You are hard pressed to get a quality bag at this price which not only easily goes head to head with bags 4 to 5 times it's price but in my opinion is outperforming many of them as well!If I have a chance I will add some pictures so you can see the inside but it's well designed.
