Not sure why 5-pin mic cable like this is not used more often as you can run cable neatly and economically in various situations. This is a good and inexpensive product which I use with a stereo mic.

Great DMX Cable; Solid Build
Great quality DMX cable with great shielding; the cable was run through a five line 3phase power line with very little signal loss. Also, the cable feels really solid and well constructed. Highly recommended for all your DMX needs.

Had to repair it before use.
Going to agree with the other reserved approvals of this product. Haven't used it yet, but my standard practice with all M/F cables is to plug the ends into each other during storage. This avoids tangles and protects the connectors against damage and foreign objects. Well, I just couldn't do it. They wouldn't connect. Not the first time this ever happened, so I inspected the pins for bends, the shells for dents, and so on. Found nothing. Eventually, I could see that the pins were leaving little indentations in the plastic near the holes in the female end, and that they were all slightly below the holes. The pins on the male end were all a bit low. Close inspection showed they were all straight and parallel to each other, but they were all slightly angled downward, not along the common central axis of the two connectors. I used a screwdriver to push upward on the center pin and, when I did, I heard a distinct snap, and felt the whole interior piece of the connector (the plastic part inside the shell, in which the pins are all mounted) move. After that, the two ends connected perfectly. This is an inexpensive cable and, if it works, I'm not going to return it or anything like that. And this isn't the first (nor, alas, do I expect it will be the last) time I've had to "repair" a brand new piece of gear. But life is short enough that I do think paying for something and then having to fix its imperfections before I can use it as intended is kind of depressing. On the other hand, I keep hearing that laissez faire capitalism is the surest way to get good products at low prices, so I must be underestimating what a joyous thing this crummy Chinese wire really is.FOLLOW UP: It does work.
