AKG Y55 Red DJ-Ready Headphones with Enriched Bass, Snug Fit and In-Line Remote/Microphone with Volume Control, Red

Pros: Decent sound, compact, comfortable fit for my large melonCons: faux leather in the headband is peeling off after 6 months, stiff cord doesn't tangle but is hard to transportI don't know why these are called DJ-ready. I DJ and would never use these at a gig—they're too small and don't block enough ambient sound.However, they're excellent as a set of good commuter headphones. I use them with a lossless DAP and occasionally my phone (though the removal of a headphone jack makes that less appetizing) walking, on the bus, and on the metro. They're comfortable (I have a big head) and have decent sound. The noise floor during the average commute is easily overcome by volume and a good-enough degree of external sound blocking—not enough to make you deaf to the world around you (safety) but enough that you don't have to blast the music to enjoy the details. All this combined with their folded size (fits nicely in my bag) makes them a winner.The small carry bag they come with isn't great for anything other than wrangling the stiff but tangle free cord. I'm disappointed that the pair I received have started to lose the faux-leather covering on the pads on the headband. They're a bit hot for commuting in the summer (I switch back to ear buds that don't sound as good) but keep your ears toasty in the winter.

Sounds great, feels solid - only caveat is that the description states “with volume control”... These phones do NOT have volume control, or to be more precise - they do not come with a cable/remote capable of volume control. However, the actual headphones themselves DO have the capacity for remote volume control if used with a cable that does.

These headphones aren't the largest like my DJ Overear headphones, however they are lightweight and won't hurt your ears and head. My little cousin is about 5feet2inches and these headphones looks good on him. The earpads are a little small on my ears, however the pads are soft. The audio is much better than I expected at this price point. The audio is more clear than bass, however overall it still sounds nice. I personally like it as a gift to a teenager or esp. people who loves podcasts.

Sound reproduction was great. It also blocks out a fair amount of noise. I wish it had a volume control button.

I guess i'm just used to louder headphones. The sound on them is really clean, and well balanced, but even with my phone volume up to max, it still is like what would be half volume on other headphones.

The sound is very pleasant. Frankly I expected a little more from this headphones judging by the buyers' reviews. Bass is just enough, not over-pumped. Mids are kinda missing to me though.

Me encanta estos auriculares, soy fan de esta marca. Tengo unos BOSÉ QC35 y te aseguro que como estos AKG ninguno. Es una pena que Europa ya no lo fabrique.Los intentaré cuidar y sobre todo ponerles seguro en la propia casa.

Seem well built and have the handy folding mechanism, so are quite easy to carry/store. Cable only 1m long, which may or may not be an advantage depending on your intended use of the headphones. Sound is ok for the price but not stunning (comparing to Sennheiser HD580 here which were 4x the price so inevitable I suppose). They are quite comfortable and block out a reasonable amount of external noise, which is a bonus at my workplace. A big improvement over my Microsoft Skype headset....

These are great headphones giving excellent sound quality for the cost.

Los audífonos se sienten de buena calidad , superior a otras marcas de ese tipo y precio , como un Bose, Klipsch,Yamaha,Beats , suenan excelente . Creo son más para personas de cabeza pequeña o mediana , sin duda los recomiendo a los que busquen unos audífonos sobre la oreja .
