Virutex HI165 Edgebanding Laminate Hand Iron

I have a small cabinet shop and haven't had much call for edge banding except for the occasional plywood shelf for which I would use an old fashioned clothes iron. Recently, I had a large job that called for a fair amount of banding and decided to give this iron a try. It does the job. The size of the the angle, iron base and heat surface are convient and helpful over using the old fashioned clothing iron, however, it is cheaply made. In the photos it looks cool, very cool. The handle is rinky-dink, the heat knob ill fitting plastic, overall, for what they charge for the thing it is kind of insulting as a tool. But it does do melt the glue and that is what it suppose to do. Just don't expect a well-made iron.

What I received was not what was pictured. I've already gone through three edgebanding irons of the type received. The heating element burns out in only 3-4 hours.

I had been using a household iron and even on the high setting, it didn't get hot enough. This is great.
