What is the main difference between the animal and the multifloor version ?

Dear Rambrijesh,There are a few main differences between the Animal and Multifloor version Dyson vacuums.  I know of the differences because I own the Animal and my brother owns a Multifloor Dyson. The Multifloor does not do a very good job on carpets. It makes louder noises on carpets, especially on area rugs compared to the quieter Animal. The Multifloor is actually better on hard floors in both cleaning and quietness. On the Multifloor vaccuum, the wand extension is more awkward to use on stairs and under beds than the Animal. And last, the bristle head on the Multifloor gets tangled from animal hair, where the Animal does not get tangled from any animal hair, no matter how long. So, if you have more hard floors, no pets and no stairs in your home, the Multifloor would be a better vacuum for you. But, if you have mainly carpet (or area rugs), pets and stairs to vacuum, the Animal is perfect for your needs. I hope this answers your question and All The Best To You,  Maren

How do the Dyson's manage human hair?  I have long hair and have found it gets stuck in my current vacuum (a Kenmore) & removing is nearly impossible.

long hair does not seem to get stuck in the bristles or get wrapped around the head when the vacuum is used on hard wood floors or tile, probably because the head is not spinning. I imagine it would if you have a lot of carpet. I have lots of pets, long hair, and primarily hard wood floors, and highly recommend the vacuum....it works great!

Question 3

I would like to know if when you lower the  handle to store the vacuum, is it supposed to lock or not.  My doesn't lock only when is upright.

No - the handle does not lock into its "down" position for storage. It just slides down as far as it can. If you pull up on it, it will come up to its "full up" position and lock in place, so it can't be picked up by the handle when in the "down" position...

Question 4

Does this have more or less suction than the DC41? The DC41 has 235 a/w and the DC50 has 128 a/w.

I never owned the DC41 but the DC50 has amazing suction. I choose it over the other models because it is much more lightweight. I needed to be able to carry it up and down stairs without too much trouble. So far the DC50 does a great job in all departments.
