Amazing build and performance!
These headphones are phenomenal I purchased as an open box set through Amazon for a bit of a discount. I had been reading/watching reviews on these and their cheaper "clone" the Blon B20. Well, the reviews are on point. My other main headphones are the MassdropxSennheiser HD6xx and the MassdropxHifiman HE4xx. Both of these headphones are amazing for the price. I mention these as they are probably two of the most popular headphones in the hifi market right now. I feel the Aiva is an excellent complement/upgrade to these. Here is a general summary of my impressions thus far after just a few hours of listening. Will update again later. In general I have been testing these using the Chord Mojo DAC/Amp streaming TIdal Lossless. I will be revising later once I also test these out with my MassdropxCavalli Liquid Carbon X balanced amp and also the Darkvoice 336se amp.Build: These are just beautifully constructed. The wood cups are highly polished and smooth. I've seen some reviewers claim they are vinyl and not wood because of this. Definitely not vinyl..... The construction is all metal, wood and leather. These are one of the best constructed headphones I have ever seen at ANY price point. 10/10 on construction.Portability: They come with a great case (though as other reviewers have noted, it kind of looks like a butt). But these are not going to be the headphones you travel with on the train or to the office. They are open back and will leak out/in a lot of sound. Literally everyone around you will know what you are listening too and you will not block them out. These also benefit the most from a dedicated amp. I used my Note 8 to power them when I took them out of the box. To get adequate volume, the phone was at about 80% of its output. So, while they can be driven by a portable device like a phone, you will really want to have something more to drive them. The Chord Mojo has plenty of power for driving these.Cable: Many people complain about cables on hifi headphones and end up replacing them (usually at an unnecessarily high cost). The cable that comes with these is hand braided copper. It is a very beautiful and functional cable. My only complaint is that they terminate the cable in a 4.4 mm balanced connection. This really isn't practical for most users. They do provide a 4.4 mm to 3.5 mm adapter for single ended connections. But these likely will sound their best when played back balanced...... I have not played back balanced yet (which is mainly why I intend to update my review again). The balanced connection is going to be the preferred method. But I am waiting for my 4.4 mm to 4 pin XLR connection cable. I also want to become more familiar with the single ended sound to really experiment and see what the improvements are going balanced. There is a separate 4 pin XLR adapter made to match these headphones for about $75. 8/10Treble: These are definitely brighter tuned headphones. The treble is more on the aggressive end..... but definitely NOT SIBILANT. What this does provide for is a very energetic and detailed treble region. the top end also does not roll off very early. So, the treble you are hearing appears to be very balanced all the way up. This makes for very nice cymbal hits. All this translates to this being one of the most detailed if not the most detailed full sized headphone I have ever heard. 9/10Mids: The mids are just a little recessed. What this really means is that the vocals are set back just a little bit in the mix of a track. These headphones give the impression that you are listening to the performer in say a live concert. As a comparison, the HD6xx is a little more of a mid-centric sound. This gives more of the impression that you are the microphone in the recording studio. I think both are good. It really matters most what your desired headphone sound signature is. Vocals on these are still very much detailed and enjoyable. Though I do enjoy vocals on the HD6xx more.... but there is a lot more to the audio spectrum than what happens in the midrange. Having both these and the HD6xx are definitely a good complement. 8/10Bass: Bass is good. For many headphones (especially open back) the bass can be a bit underwhelming or midbass is boosted to compensate for a lack of sub-bass. The bass on these is slightly elevated over neutral. It is still very balanced. The planar drivers also ensure there is plenty of detail in the sound. 8/10Overall sound: The overall sound of these headphones is very much detailed and smooth. They provide for a very clean sound without any grain/distortion. The sound signature definitely tilts to the treble side. But after using them, I don't think this is a bad thing. They provide for a very engaging and energetic sound signature. 9/10Soundstage: These are not as narrow as the HD6xx but also not as wide as the HE4xx. They are a good balance. When listening to large orchestral recordings, the HE4xx's wide soundstage is very nice to have. Though on some vocal recordings it looses some of the magic that the HD6xx can provide. But that same magic from the HD6xx can also be a hindrance when listening to these same recordings that benefit from the wider staging. The Aiva is somewhere in the middle. So, it is really more of an all around good performer. It isolates instruments well and provides great separation. 7/10All in all, these are an excellent headphone under $1,000 but the price to performance ratio is still better on the HD6xx and the HE4xx..... which are going to be extremely difficult to beat. If you are looking for the best sound for the money, consider these cheaper alternatives first. They both scale very well with amplification. However, if you want the best all around performer, regardless of the cost, the Aiva is a formidable headphone to beat. I think will be taking the place of most of my other headphones at this point.

These Are Excellent
So initially i got a defective pair which was going to result in me leaving a 4 star instead of 5. After a few days with the new pair i just can't bring myself to take to the one star off. First off when i got the headphones initially and took them out of the box the case feels real quality and well made. Take the headphones out of the case they have a little weight to them and feel well built. The Cable it comes with is gorgeous the twisted copper and metal ends are fantastic. When plugging in the headphone cable to the headphone and plugging them into my RME Adi-2 DAC the left ear cup made a weird fizzling noise and then stopped working. I took the 2.5mm headphone cables out of the headphone to make sure i re-seated them correctly. It was better but there was still something that wasnt right. So i started off playing a few songs from my FLAC library and something felt off like it was off center. So i checked the cables again and made sure everything was plugged in correctly which it was. So i went into Tidal and played a few more songs and same thing. So i checked my RME to make sure i didnt have the balance off which there was nothing to indicate so. I then asked a few of my roommates to try them and see if they noticed anything wrong. They all agreed without my telling them that they were off center and the left ear cup was not as loud as the right. At this point i realized i got a bad and contacted Amazon to which they responded immediately and got me replacement sent out of the next day. When I received the new pair same unboxing experience everything was quality this time i was a bit worried but plugged everything into my RME again. This time it was perfect no hitches no issues with this pair. Let me start off by saying im not a true audiophile but as an average listener let me share my thoughts. The headphone is clean with the help of my RME its base it punchy without being overdone and drowning out the mids. When it comes to Treble i am a little treble sensitive and these are a little brighter than im used to but i EQ'd them a little and now they are perfect. Overall these arent the wide headphones compared to something like the Sennheiser HD 800s but they do have decent width and separation. While $600 isnt cheap by any means if this is within your budget you are definitely getting a pair of headphones that is more that worth its weight in gold. I would highly recommend these to anyone that wants a very fun listening that is all around great but doesnt want to spend upward of $1000 to get that audiophile experience.

Fast perfekt...

Unique sounding but comfort is lacking for those with bigger ears.
The sound these headphones deliver is incredibly detailed and unique with the treble quality being outstanding for this price range, however the bass is particularly lack-luster with the default pads. The treble is not fatiguing and the mids are great. The default pads are also very unique with a shape that follows the contours of your head. While this sounds good in practise, I found that the seal wasn't actually that great with most of the clamping pressure being place above my ears around my temples. I also found the pad openings to be too small for me ears which led to discomfort after approximately 45-60mins of use.I opted to replace the pads with non-perforated Lambskin ZMF Ori pads which I found to be much more comfortable and had the added bonus of upping the bass response which I personally found to be an improvement.I also took issue with the fact that these ideally want to be run balanced but come default with a 4.4mm pentaconn connector which isn't widely supported by many amps. They do include a 1/4inch adapter but you are no longer running balanced while using this. Sendy do offer an XLR adapter which matches the included cable style but you have to buy this separately and this costs far too much at $125.The included cable is very nice and clearly well made but it looks and feels like an IEM cable which I personally ended up not liking very much. I would recommend that if you want to run these balanced with anything other than 4.4mm pentaconn you buy a third party cable from somewhere like Periapt Cables or OIDIO (which is actually cheaper than buying the official Sendy XLR adapter!!).Overall I really do enjoy the sound these offer but the comfort and cable unfortunately make these a flawed headphone in my opinion. If you want the best experience with these you will need to expect to spend at least another $100.

Einfach unglaublich
