My 10 year old daughter loved it
I am always on the look out for co-op games I can play with my daughter and she loved this one.The co-op is split screen. The controls are easy (not realistic). There are lots of activities and challenges. It is cartoony, but it is still fun flying around in strange landscapes. You do need to beat a "boss" in a race to advance to the next level and one of them was hard (ie. frustrating because we kept trying and failing). I've never been a fan of that kind of "boss" especially in titles aimed at kids. The co-op does not require much coordination, although it can be helpful with the boss (one of you can race ahead while the other tries to block the boss). My daughter wanted to play through again, but it did not have much reply value for me.

Very nice kid's flying game
This is an excellent kid's game for the Wii. My 7-yr old loves it. He mastered the controls relatively quickly. The controls are quite responsive as well (compared to wii sports resort, the controls are not that smooth, but game play in this game is far better than in wii resort). You simply tilt the wii remote for pitch, yaw and roll. Push 2 for acceleration and 1 for brake. The game has three islands that you unlock one by one. you also get plane upgrades (faster ones up to a UFO) as you complete missions. The missions are kid-friendly (very forgiving except the race). racing, shooting water bombs to help a farmer or put out fire etc. The islands are very nicely done. You can land/take off from airstrips. Landing could have been a bit more smoothly done. Over all, it is an enjoyable game.

There is a reason this game has the rating it has
Let me first say, I really like this game. It is lots of fun and even keeps the enjoyability factor regardless of what age the player is. The controls are simple enough to figure out with the basic explanation to guide you in the short manual that comes with this game. One issue I had for a little bit is the simplified menu screen of this game, I couldn't figure out have to play this game with two people instead of one. You are able to have three different profiles in this game, and although the two characters are chosen for you, one boy and one girl, its not a big enough problem to be an issue. The graphics for this game are good, but the island looks a little "childish" but if you are really that picky about the graphic design being A+, you should get games for a computer and not the Wii. The graphics for scenery and the plane itself are superb for the Wii, and the steering is precise, although you cannot bank (turn) left or right as quickly as I am used to from playing PC flight games, but this is a Wii game and the steering issues can easily learned and are not an issue with a little practice. The one main issue I had with this game was not being able to figure out how to play against someone else from the menu screen and the in-game menu. This was resolved by turning on a second Wii remote while the first person is playing, outside of a mission, and a message will apear centered at the top of the screen telling the P2 to hit + to join the game. It seemed the designers of this game tried to make it as simple as possible and with some practice everything works well. There is plenty to do in this game and with the missions and the ability to eventually unlock more lands, this game seems like it should have a long game life and should be fun to play for quite some time. This game is probably my 4th most recommended game to get, but it had hard competition with Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Wii Sports Resort, all excellent games and the "trademark" games of the Wii. If you like flying games, this is one for the Wii you must have, and ignore the other flight games for Wii that can't seem to get more than a 3 star rating at best. Buy this game.

Kid Adventures: Sky Captain
Hi! The game plays well, but as a adult trying to master it, I wonder just how well 'kids' will do! It's tougher than it looks! Luckily, I do not have any kids around to chastise me and my lack of skills! It isn't a very in-depth storyline, but that is exactly why I picked up a 'kids game'... I play for a while then put the machine up and not play for weeks. So, when I start again, I don't want to spend too much time remembering how to work the game. For the price (another consideration) it is good money spent. }:o)

This is an awesome plane simulator for kids
For some time now I've been looking for a plane simulation game for my 4 year old ever since he asked if we could get a "plane game". Many of the other simulation games are combat related and I did not feel it was something to expose him to just yet. Sky Captain is an excellent game to get for this reason. I was impressed in how responsive the control of the plane is. It's not too simple, the controls are pretty sensitive which makes the game enough of a challenge for a 4 year old. You get experience points as you fly under bridges and thru tunnels and through rings. As you get more experienced, you get promoted. Some rings you fly thru will give you tasks like taking supplies to a hermit on a mountain, moving sheep off the train tracks, and putting out fires with a water cannon. The cool part about the water cannon is that you need to skim the nearby ocean or stream to collect water to fill the cannon's tank. This game was well thought out for young kids. It's not mindless and it can teach hand eye coordination and be entertaining all at the same time.

Not worth it
Bought this to play with my 6 year old son, result was play control is not the best and as reviewed by a kid = boring. Single player mode is better but that is not the way we are playing it. 6 & 7 year old playing together also came to the same conclusion and the game is now collecting dust after only a day or two. Thus a dud from a two player perspective.
