Okay, let me start by saying I can't believe I am reviewing this, as I am a true audiophile. That being said, there is no way this thing is even comparable to my "big stereo." However, there are times when even an audiophile likes to listen to music when away from the "stereo room," or have better sound for the TV, as in my case. After looking at and listening to sound bars of all types and price ranges, there is no chance that I am going to spend all that money for a little bar that sounds mediocre at best.When I saw this item here for under $200.00, it sparked my attention. Even with the cons that I will list later, I just can't give it less than 5 stars. My primary reason for buying this unit was to improve the sound quality of the TV in my bedroom, and this unit did that quite well, in fact, I can't immagine a sound bar of any price delivering sound like this. Another reason I liked this is that I can bluetooth tunes from my phone, and the bluetooth works well, very good range and sound quality of any of the other functions.Okay, the cons... When I first set-up this mini stereo, I was very dissapointed with the sound quality, but for some reason I decided to play with speaker placement. This is what kept me from sending the unit back, and actually prompted me to write a review. Speaker placement is very important. The 2 main speakers sound very nice when at ear or listening level, while the sub delivers the best sound on the floor. I have a shelf above my TV, and the whole unit is on that shelf. Doesn't sound quite as good as speakers placed as described, but does sound good. I improved the sound by angling the speakers down, aiming them at ear level. I have been very critical, but keep in mind that I am used to listening to my "big stereo," which costed me nearly 100 times more than this. Oh another thing... This does NOT have 700 watts RMS. My big stereo has 200 watts RMS per channel at 8 ohms, and the power amp has a 520 watt power consumption. This mini consumes 85 watts. In true audiophile specs, it probably has a total RMS power output of about 40 watts. This does not mean that it isn't loud. I have had it up just over half way, and it IS loud. Power output has VERY little to do with volume level. Speaker efficiency, speaker amount etc. has much more to do with it. keep in mind, it takes 10 times the power to double the volume using the same speakers.Okay, enough of me rambling on. This unit works great for the situation I bought it for, and I would buy it again if in a similar situation. It would be ideal for music outside on the deck, or for working in the garage. If you are looking for a decent, low priced compact stereo, you can't go wrong with this.

I needed a compact but powerful stereo to have music in my bedroom & attach my TV for better sound in my bedroom. This LG compact stereo system is perfect for my needs. Not sure if it really has 700 total watts of power, but it sounds quite good for its compact size. You get a sub-woofer along with 2 speakers and the main unit with the FM radio/CD player. Very easy to assemble. I had the entire system connected & running in under 20 minutes. Very easy to use, tho FM stereo radio presets is harder to figure out, but once figured out....quite easy. I don't know how many FM radio presets you get, but I preset 12 stations just fine on this stereo system. There is no AM radio on this unit, just FM radio. CD player is typical CD player, plays my music CD's just fine. 2 USB ports for flash drives. The lighted volume knob is really big on the main unit & very hard to miss that massive volume knob. You can connect one AUX item to this unit [main reason I got it] also. You get a Bass Boost switch, DJ mode & complete remote control with 2 AAA batteries included. The Bass Boost on this unit improves the sound quality nicely. There is some kind of EQ on this unit, but as I just got it a few days ago, I am still figuring out this stereo system out. As I mentioned earlier, the sound quality seems rather good for this stereo system as the speakers have a 6.5 inch woofer and nearly 2 inch tweeter on both speakers. Not sure how big the sub-woofer is, but it's sizable. All speaker enclosures have metal mesh covers for classier looks.It's really a slick powerful pretty compact stereo system that I will most certainly enjoy using for hopefully many years to come and gave this product a solid 5 star rating! If it had a cassette deck on top of the unit, I'd give it 6 stars. I'd get one for my main stereo unit in my living room, but I am happy just to get one of these stereo systems.
