Definitely worth trying!
So I’ve been on a fragrance journey that started with me wearing basically different variations of Dolce & Gabbana’s “Light Blue”; woody aquatic, crisp, fresh. For years, I absolutely hated anything floral or floral dominant. Most recently I’ve decided to step outside of my olfactory comfort zone and experiment with scents, from the fruitiest of florals to the muskiest incensed oud and everything in between. This little gem, Anais Anais has been a delightful surprise. Upon first impression I found it rather sharp and somewhat baby powdery, HOWEVER the dry down of this is gorgeous; opening with hints of honeysuckle, hyacinth, and lily-of-the-valley followed by an earthier undertone of amber, cedar, oak moss and sandlewood.I’m not a fan of the baby powder scent but thankfully on me, it dissipates rather quickly and what’s left is a soft vintage white floral. It has a nice balance, and for an EDT it has good longevity and the sillage is somewhat better than other EDT’s.Just keep in mind this is a reformulation of the 1978 version so of course this will smell different to those who owned the original.Happy sniffing!

Very Close To The Original Formula
While not exact, in a world of weak reformulations Cacharel Anais Anais Eau de Toilette L'Original is recognizable as itself. It's close enough. It's still light, airy, fresh and floral. The reformulation may have something to do with IRFA changing the regulations on oak moss and Lily of the Valley. These regulations caused tragic changes to some of the mot loved classic fragrances. But Anais Anais somehow survived mostly intact.Missing from the original (though this is marketed as L'Original): White lily, galbanum, orange blossom, lavendar, bergamot, black currant, lemon, Morrocain jasmine, carnation, tuberose, Iris, orris root, incense, cedar, patchouli, amber.Yet somehow they kept the heart of the perfume with just hyacinth, honeysuckle, lily, Lily of the Valley (in much lower % than the original), jasmine ylang-ylang, rose musk, vetiver, sandalwood and black currant. The original oakmoss has been swapped out for moss. Some people find it old fashioned or too powdery. It is not a modern skin scent or a heavy sticky TikTok trend. It was released in 1978 and the current formulation smells very much of that time, in a good way. If you like vintage fragrances, the current formulation should satisfy your cravings at a decent price. The longevity is about 4-6 hours and the juice is potent. A little goes a long way. Much more bang for the buck than many modern designer scents. Try it. You might like it.
