Hmmm...
This little baby collects about 4oz (half cup) of water over 12hours (non-stop running). Unfortunately, you can't leave it on for longer than that. I still have mold issues though, although I'm realizing that that's probably 'cos I don't run my heaters as much as I ought to. It makes me wonder where all that water was going to before I bought this.I have mixed feelings since I bought this to control mold, and the mold is still there. I live in a student complex, so the rooms are really tiny and I felt one of these should do. Oh well...Edited a couple of months later to read:After seeing my new 50pint size Frigidaire work (I gave up on these minis) I realized I was just wasting my time and money with the mini-IVATIONS. From my personal experience, I realize that these minis are meant for tiny enclosed spaces (closets, drawers, cupboards). Definitely cannot be relied on to dry out even a tiny room (I live in a student's complex and rooms don't get tinier than that).Do yourself a favor and save up some money to get something that will really work for your needs. Not one drop of moisture on a single window since the Frigidaire came into my life. Sits in one spot and dries out the ENTIRE apartment. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It IS pricey, but worth every penny. BTW - If you have mold problems like I did, get the Concrobium mold control. That too gets a solid A+ in my book.

Good, not great
I bought this mini dehumidifier on a whim. My closet was a little bit musty and my clothes constantly felt damp; as such I though that a small dehumidifier might just do the trick. I was hesitant since peltier humidifiers were known to be rather inefficient.Size and Appearance: It's very small and compact. It looks very sleek though somewhat cheap and "plasticy".Performance: I tried this little guy in my (closed) closet and it managed to only pull about a cup and a half of water out of the air in two days (~18 hours a day). While this was rather underwhelming, it proved to be enough to leave my closet feeling much drier and smelling less musty. I tested it in my room and bathroom just to see how it fared, and it was quite underwhelming. It averaged about 2 cups every 3-4 days. Be sure that if you're buying this you aren't planning to use this in any space larger than a closet or you'll be sorely disappointed.Improvements: This little machine could use a handful of improvements. The power plug is a large two-prong "brick" that can be inconvenient to place in tight spaces (like a closet). The necessity to only run for a maximum of 12 hours at a time is also a let down.Overall it's a good little machine for the right size spaces.

The jury is still out, but so far so good!
I bought this because our bathroom has no ventilation except for a window and we have major mildew problems. The problem is especially bad in the closet, which is uninsulated. The warm steam of the shower hits the cold walls and condenses immediately. The wet walls then develop mildew.Recently I purchased this little dehumidifier for our bathroom to try and improve the situation. We run it during showers and for an hour or so afterwards. If we open the closet door while the bathroom is steamy, we leave the door open to dry it out. I will say that it seems like this unit has been able to vastly shorten the time the bathroom feels damp after showers. We can tell because the walls dry pretty quickly and the mirror isn't steamed up for nearly as long. I think it very well might help with our moisture problem, but will check back to report. If it does, it is going to be a wonderful thing because we have a vintage house and it would be tough to put an exhaust fan in the ceiling.

Small but effective
I've had this product running for 2 weeks,12 hours a day using a 24 hour timer from 8am to 8pm. I've collected 2 bins of water over a 14 day period, so emptying once a week seems to be what is required for our closet ~ 90sq. ft. avg 60% humidity/78degrees year round. Both times that the bin has filled with water the unit did turn off automatically, however the LED did not turn from blue to yellow, unless I jiggled the unit. The one problem I see for us is the collection bin is too small unless we are around to empty the water often. This means that when we are away for over 1 week, I need to put the DampRid collectors back into service. Considering how well it works with its limitations, it is still a good investment. The only remaining question is how long it will work....

but not great, wish it would pull the humidity down to ...
Bought this dehumidifier to lower the humidity and prevent rust inside my gun safe. Have been using it for several week. Safe is located in garage. We live in Dallas, and it is hot and humid. Using a pair of AcuRite meters to measure temperature and percent relative humidity; one inside the garage, and second inside the safe. Today the readings in the garage, was 91F / 46%RH. Meter in the inside the safe was 91F / 37%RH. Have seen a 10%RH reduction when I check. Which is ok, but not great, wish it would pull the humidity down to less than 20%. This unit uses Peltier (solid state) cooler instead of compressor and freon-gas. I wonder if the peltier cooler is maxed out due to the hot temperatures?

Good dehumidifier with some downsides.
Only reason why I give this unit 3 stars is that it is difficult to empty the water as there is only a tiny hole to drain out the acumulated water in the sealed dish. Olso manual says that you cannot just set this and forget it or it will decrease the usable life of the unit. I have mine on a timer in my RV bathroom for storage and run it about 5 hours per day. I empty it every few weeks. Cheaper than buying dry air products. I've used this unit for one season so far and it continues to work fine. it is small and quite and runs off of 12 volts.

Perfect for my tiny apartment!
I researched and deliberated about this purchase. I chose to buy 2 of these for my 500 sq ft apartment that has no fan system for ventilation - just windows and a singular vent in the bathroom. They work so well. It is true that they work slowly and are tiny but they are nearly soundless, have aesthetically pleasing design and a blue operating light which is a pleasant and dim night light. I have one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen and I empty the water collected every 3-4 days. I usually interchange the in use unit to give the other the suggested 24 hour rest period. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase. They were delivered swiftly as the estimated date suggested. 5 stars. No one paid me to write this, or gave me anything for free to review.

Very Compact Dehumidifier That Actually Works...
Quick Review:Very pleased with this tiny dehumidifier! Great for smaller spaces of up to 1100sqft.Has NO moving parts so there's less to worry about breaking. We use it in our travel trailer where space it at a premium.Takes up next to no room measuring in at 5.7" x 5.3" x 8.7" and it looks pretty good too.It is extremely quiet, and actually works better than I expected! Also features an auto shut off feature should the reservoir fill completely and has a light to indicate it's full.Would buy this again if needed.Recommend this little guy!

Decent unit for the money
I used this item in a 9x8 walk-in closet which shares the entrance to the attic and the first time I received this item, despite what the other reviews were saying, it picked up only a tiny drop of water over three or four days - the unit was deemed to be defective and I ordered a new one in hopes that it would solve my humidity problems. The new one now picks up about and inch of water over 2 weeks and can't or won't go any further - it doesn't even touch the floater (to stop the unit). Both tests using this item, were in conjunction with another dehumidifying item (a rechargeable silica gel unit) which was filling up with moisture much faster than it was advertised for (i.e., good for 6 days versus the month claimed by product reviews). It was being utilized before ordering the DehumMinis. The Mini is being placed on the floor while the other unit is up on a shelf - given that I don't know if this has any effect on how much moisture each picks up and that if the Mini has to compete with another unit for moisture, I will give this product (the working one) four stars. On a related note - the Silica gel unit is now going on its 8th day without signs of needing a recharge.

Highly recommended if you need a dehumidifier for a smaller space ...
This little thing is a powerhouse. We use it in the largest room of our apartment (the kitchen/living room) to help with window condensation and general dampness, and it has made a huge difference. It has been running daily for months without a hitch. Highly recommended if you need a dehumidifier for a smaller space (small home, apartment, condo etc)

I read the reviews and thought that this would work ...
I read the reviews and thought that this would work for me, I have a very small bedroom and hope this would help. But with the limited run time of 12hours and have to turn it off it does not seem to get enough time to remove the humidity. The plug gets very warm after a few hours. I tried in my walkin closet and still did not help not sure if the sqft rating is accurate.
