Spanish All-in-One For Dummies

This is a great Spanish primer.I slept through High School English class. I have been working on Spanish with Duolingo, Babbel and several other books for over a year. They helped, but left me in the weeds. Repetition, memorize but never explaining anything. Tried googling looking for answers but most times I wasn't really even sure what questions I should be asking. How would I know to ask a question about the past participle. What's a past participle anyway??The second book in this 4 in 1 book, Grasping Basic Grammar Essentials, was revelatory for me. It explained things that I had no idea that I even had questions on. It provides guidance understanding basic grammar and its interaction with the Spanish language in a very relatable way. An absolute God Send for me!I cannot thank authors, Cecie Kraynak and the other gals, enough for their logical, informative and innovative approach.This book has been transformative in my journey towards speaking Spanish.I was lost, now I am off and running!Thank you.

Great product was lucky to find used but great book

I got this book not to long ago. It did help me read better in Spanish(I already knew some Spanish). The book is just an extra way to practice, you wouldn't become fluent reading it. But it is still a good way to practice

Bought as a gift. So far they loved it.

Usually, I'm a fan of "Dummies" books. As a language trainer though, this was not so helpful as it's basically a dictionary with pronunciations. You can find that anywhere online or buy an app. It also comes with a CD which I wasn't able to listen to because computers don't play CD's usually anymore, nor do I have a CD player at home. I was hoping it had a website to follow along with, but no. I would recommend buying Duolingo or Babble instead.

Call me old-fashioned but I like learning languages the old-fashioned way; using books to learn vocabulary and grammer, and then finding someone to practice with. I had previously tried a bunch of different apps and found them all to be irritating and useless in their own unique ways. The For Dummies is a perfect primer for someone that already has some - but not much - background in Spanish and wants improve to the next level.
