After using the refrigerator for couple of months I have too say its okay. For the price I expected better. The water dispenser sends a super powerful jet that is super hard to use. The ice maker is okay. The overall controls and interface is below average.

Water supply MUST BE turned off to change the filter.
Unbelievable that this unit requires you to turn off the water supply to change the filter. Other brands addressed this problem 20 years ago. Basically means I have to carve new scratches in my hardwood floors every 3 months.Don't have the noise problems other folks have complained about.

AVOID! Component failure / defrosting required or fridge stops cooling
It is my view that Samsung is negligent having failed to advertise this fridge as requiring defrosting, and selling these fridges with full knowledge they are not performing as advertised - and in fact fail to perform the purpose they are intended for, for a period of time that is well within reasonable expectations. I bought this fridge in Sept. 2014 and it needs defrosting periodically. The cabinet housing the fans builds up with ice to the point the fan stops and the fridge ceases to cool effectively. The internet is filled with people having the precise same problem as I am, and videos on how to remove the ice build up (hairdryer works) so I have to believe this is not a singular problem I am having but a characteristic of their fridges. There is a class action in the USA.Samsung does not include info on how to defrost in their manual nor do they offer any workaround, or information such as "where will the water come from as it defrosts". Yet the call centre folks don't even need to consult a manual to tell you how to defrost it ... you have to put it in something called "shop mode" and wait 24 hours. They offer this product with a 10 year warranty, which I took as a company willing to stand behind their product, yet this commonly experienced design problem is not covered. I believe as a consumer I need protection from this company's shoddy design and lack of responsibility for their malfunctioning product. And so it seems does anyone buying a Samsung fridge. The model is the RF23HCEDBSR.

Perfectly good refrigerator for me. Luck of the draw? Maybe.
Got this fridge about a year ago and... knock on wood... never had a slightest problem with it. Not even the loud noise a lot of people complain about nor ice buildup. Sure, as with about everything, it has some annoyances like the door won't shut completely unless you PUSH it shut all the way. But that's not a reason enough for me to take a star off.

Bad design
Can’t dispense ice/water when door is open. There’s no alarm when freezer door is open — and it’s very easy to accidentally leave it slightly ajar (in which case everything inside defrosts!).Also the ice/water dispenser is sloppy - goes all over the place.Filter doesn’t last long.

Should have listened to other reviews
Bought this on July of 2015. By April 2017, the fan has started making noise. I came back here to read the reviews and supposedly the fan makes noise due to an ice buildup, particularly if it's humid, which it has been the last day or two.Now I'm mulling over what to do about this...Should I call for repair (which won't help if it's a design flaw), defrost the fridge requiring me to empty everything out, or contemplate a new fridge (hard to do because our cabinets were built with the size of this fridge in mind). But hey, at least it looks nice... Too bad it barely has storage room, and the ice dispenser is messy.
