Outstanding scope for the money.
Right from the time you start unboxing it, you know you bought a quality scope. Solid box and well packaged. This is a beautiful, fully functioning scope that hands down beats other scopes in this price range. I purchased this particular scope after lots of research- mainly quality and durability. I mounted it on my Crossman F4 Nitro Piston break barrel .177 pellet gun. Mounted nicely. I removed the scope from the base to first mount the base and ensure the stop pin is properly engaged. The base has 4 mount screws (not 3 as per the description) making for a more solid and secure mount. The scope sits perfectly in the base. I torqued the mount screws to 30 inch pounds and the scope caps to 18 inch pounds and used blue loctite on all 12 screws. The parallax adjustment is great for clearly seeing the crosshairs at different distances. Lowest setting is 10 yds but you can go much lower than that and right up to infinity. I target shoot in my basement with my pellet gun and I'm shooting at 13 yards. Primarily just to practice and keep in good form. Sight picture is clean and crisp. Lenses are are nice and clear even in low light conditions. The main reason I purchased this scope is it's ability to handle the double recoil of a nitro piston air rifle. The scope holds zero well and hasn't come loose or lost it's zero after over 100 rounds. Looking forward to getting out on the range and shooting at greater distances. I would definitely recommend this scope to anyone looking for a quality air rifle scope that won't break the bank. In my honest opinion, Hammers knocked it out of the park with this scope. 5 stars all day long...

Very high value scope Excellent Quality
I have to say this scope is far nicer than many scopes I have at twice the price. There are so many high quality features to this scope where do I start? The windage and elevation knobs are great. You don't have to spin the caps off every time you want to adjust. The lens caps are quality. The dial movements are rock solid and smooth. It adjusts for focus in front and the rear (closest to eye) also adjusts making it easy to get a extremely clear sight picture, much better than many other scopes I own. I've used this on my Crosman Phantom with a single piece mount for over 100 shots now. The scope is hitting dead on and has not lost its zero, not at all. No issues with the double recoil of the spring air gun. Has a single slide stop screw and is just rock solid. Just a very high quality scope. I can't believe its only 50 bucks! Today I bought my second because at this price you won't find a scope that compares, and I figure a review is in order at this point as well. Look this is the best scope I've ever seen for this price. Just buy it. You will wish you had bought one sooner. I wish Hammers made a long eye relief scope for a Mosin, at this level of quality, I'd buy three. PS this scope is airgun rated, but you can used it on a high recoil rifle just as well due to its shock resistance and sturdy design.

Great features. Well built.
This is an initial "out of the box" review. Reserving 1 star for the future range review. Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Hammers Optics. I purchased this scope to replace the pitiful one that came on my Gamo Big Cat 1300 Nitro Piston. In this review, I will address some of the "concerns" others seem to have had with this product. The scope arrived well packaged in a better than average box. First, to put things in perspective, consider what the scope is not. It's not a multi-hundred dollar Hawke or Leupold. It's a sub $60.00 scope. That said, what you get is really impressive. The build quality of this product is very impressive. The scope is heavy. Something needed for the unique shock/recoil characteristics of magnum spring piston air rifles. The optics are quite good. Very good clarity. The mil-dot reticle focuses perfectly. Same for the AO and zoom. The objective, ocular, and power ring all move very smooth and are quite snug preventing unintentional movement. I'll review the windage and elevation adjustments at the range. Addressing some other reviewer's comments/concerns: Some have noted that the single piece mount engagement rails seems too rounded or not sharp enough to engage the receiver's dovetail grooves. While they are certainly not machined the sharpest I've seen, I experienced no issues engaging the 11mm dovetail on the Gamo. My biggest complaint about the mount is the fact that it just needs a little more height. The objective bell just does clear the receiver with the cover on. Also, it's just low enough to pick up the blurred image of the large barrel shroud found on many Gamo's as well as other air rifle manufacturers. The image appears as a small blurred spot right at the bottom of the sight image. This may be annoying to the point of distraction for some. If you'll concentrate on the reticle crosshair, it's easy enough to ignore. Hammer's would be better served to equip these scopes with the taller mount available on their website. Durability: I have found that many scopes fail simply because of improper mounting especially when the retention pin is not properly seated in the receiver hole. I am also not a fan of individual mounts for a spring or nitro piston air rifle. IMHO, they allow too much movement. That said, there is always going to be a certain number of "lemons" on mass produced products imported from Asia. By the way this scope is built, I believe it would be the exception. To this point though, I personally telephoned and spoke to a representative at Hammer's Optics in CA. I was assured that all their scopes carried a lifetime warranty to the original owner (abuse not being included of course). Yes, it involves packing up the scope and mailing it, but he assured me that a new unit would be sent when the old one received. The fact that they do have a physical store front and a live representative does help reassure me though. I hope someone who has had a recent failed scope puts this to the test for all concerned. As far as not holding zero or other durability issues, I will follow up with a range report in a few months.

Great rifle scope far exceed expectation
Let me start by saying this is one of the rare cases that you get more than what you paid for. I am extremely satisfied with it. I wish I could give this product 10 stars. By far it is the best scope I have had. It is very well build and designed to withstand the double recoil shocks of high power air rifle. It is packed with features that are normally available with high end scopes several times more expensive. I am most impressed with its Adjustable Objective feature that makes it parallax free from 7.5 yards to infinity. Because of this feature and its sturdy build, the scope is applicable for both high power air rifles and large caliber center fire rifles. You may have looked at other products before this, look no further. You will be just as satisfied and surprised as I am with Hammers 3-9x32AO Air Refle Scope. If you still can't hit group shot the size of a quarter from 65 yards, it is not because of scope.1. High quality workmanship that differentiate it from other cheaply made scopes2. One piece mount with 4 screws makes very easy and secure installation to withstand repeated shocks from air rifle3. Standard 1" ring allow it to be installed on other mounts if 3/8" dovetail isn't available4. Clicking windage and Elevation dials can be turned with fingers without screw driver or coin. Fine tuned and easy to operate.5. Zoom and AO adjustment rings are on either end of the scope. Zoom level from 3 to 9 and AO from 7.5 yards to inifinty are clearly marked on the dial. To eliminate parallax error, you can either turn AO adjustment ring to target distance or look through the scope and shift your eye position while you make AO adjustment. You know you are good when the crosshair on the target doesn't move when your eye moves6. Focus can be adjusted with focus ring on the eye piece. Target and crosshair are crystal clear at any distance7. MilDots is very handy for those who knows how to use it. Even if you don't know how to use it, it is simily cool to have it8. Bright field of view9. Fully coated lenses and high quality build make it fog and water proof

Will not hold zero
I've had this scope mounted on a Gamo Whisper since December '14.Initially I liked the scope as the clarity is great. I thought it was a great mate to the rifle. That changed over the last couple months. I found shot placement to not be what I was used to (nor expected). I purchased some different types/weights of pellets to see if I couldn't shrink my groups and I thought I had found what I needed. That all changed yesterday when I came home to find a squirrel hanging off one of our bird feeders. What should have been a very easy head shot turned into a three shot kill.I decided to see what was wrong so today I took the time again to check zero with different types of pellets.Long story short is I found out the scope will not hold any semblance of zero with my shots patterning at about 9" at 40'. It didn't make any difference what weight/type pellet I used.I took the scope off and proceeded to see if it was the rifle itself. It was not. I was able to group 1" at 40' with a variety of pellets and my old man's eyes.I don't know if I'll hang on to the scope to see if it will work on a .22 or just throw it in the trash, but I know I can't recommend the scope for an air rifle.

Fantastic scope!
I have 2 of these now. The first I ordered several months ago and use on a RWS350 magnum and it was a dream to use. Most recent purchase was for an RWS34 Classic and I couldn't be happier with both. Have used Leapers/UTG AO scopes for years and they are great: tough, clear optics, great reticules, easy to mount, easy to sight-in and on and on. BUT, these Hammers have them beat in many ways. The reticule adjustment knobs are not enclosed and are readily and handy to adjust without removing and replacing screw caps and do not require painful knob turning with bare fingers or with a penny or dime. Leapers always irritated me somewhat because of over sized adjustment rings for the AO and focusing adjustment rings on the rear making it very difficult to measure for different scope caps from different makers. This became a problem because the included caps were always failing to perform properly and new caps always had to be purchased. Otherwise, the Hammers is as good in every way; clear optics, toughness and fine reticules. Also, the Leapers that I usually use that I am comparing to is being dropped and I could no longer get them through Amazon.Cheers to Amazon for a great price and availability.

Works great *if* you get a good one
Well so far I have purchased 4 of these. Two of them work, and two did not. I have returned the two broken ones. One of the two I still have has a little problem with the elevation adjustment being klunky, but it still seems to hold zero well once adjusted. So basically, the consistency is terrible, but if you get a good one, the optics are very clear. Paralax is practically non existent, image is flat and in focus over the whole field of view, and zero seems to hold after several hundred shots on magnum springers. But the chances of getting a good one are not high. I may even return the two working ones I have before the 30 day window expires if I see any signs of failure. All they need to do is tighten up QC a bit and this could really be a great product. For now, it's hit or miss.

Best bang for the buck!
A very good, high quality scope! This thing is one of those few products I deem the " best bang for the buck!" I also like the 4-bolt, one piece mounting rail these Hammers scopes come with. They seat the scope low to the barrel centerline, a very good thing in terms of accuracy. The adjustable Objective lens does a great job of clearing up the field of view, especially at odd ranges where a non AO would be a problem. The eyepiece wend clears up the reticle perfectly as well. And boy, are the adjustment knobs for the reticle sight-in handy. Firm click stops with every minute turn of the knobs. The scope is very responsive to these minute adjustments, exactly as it should be! Making initial sight in a very easy undertaking. The 3-9 power adjustments are good for about any average hunting situation as well. This scope has taken all the punishment my Hatsan Striker 1000x .22 can dish out. Never skips a beat. Never fails me. A great scope in it's own right, a best bang for the buck value!!!
