Knife maker
This works really well for grinding knife bevels. I own (@t_roseknives) and I have been very happy with how it easily attaches with a magnet to my ameribrade grinder and keeps my knives cool while grinding. I don’t have to dip the blades in water anymore. I would definitely recommend to anyone making knives because it saves you time and keeps your blades cool especially if you heat treated before grinding.

Happy
Bought this to replace a very old one that finally gave up, they did say they can rebuild them though, as an FYI to others. But I did have an issue, they cured it fast and easily, but thumbs up!!

Does the job at first
The only, and I mean it, ONLY, downfall with this is the brass fitting out of the magnet body. After moving the flexy plastic bits around after a few months of steady use, the plastic bit that clips on the brass knuckle cracks and causes the syphon to loose its blow/suction power. I removed the cracked plastic bit, bit within a month the next one cracked. The brass diameter is too big on the one I have. Other than that, it works GREAT! Honestly. Please understand my rating, when it doesn't suck and blow fluid... it just sucks!

I am using this to cool blades on a 2x72" belt grinder
I am using this to cool blades on a 2x72" belt grinder. Works well and keeps the blade cool and makes final grinding easier in some instances. It does use a good bit of air and is somewhat fiddly to get positioned just right. I don't use it that much, but it really shines when grinding heat treated steel and I don't have to worry as much about removing the temper due to grinding heat. I had to weight down the suction line to keep it submerged in the supply water and the flexible spray nozzle could be a little longer. Overall a well made product.

Not quite two years old, falling apart, no longer works
I bought this unit in may of 2022. Used nothing in it but Kool mist coolant. I used it for about 8 months and then took it out of service while I upgraded the CNC system on my mill. I pulled it out of the box this week to reinstall it and the all the blue plastic parts of the nozzle were cracking and there was severe corrosion on the brass. I removed the broken nozzle pieces, shortened the tube, and reassembled. Will not draw coolant. It has been used strictly with Kool Mist coolant and stored in an environmentally controlled shop. I found as replacement nozzle on MSC for $115. The whole unit was only $130 new. It is insane that a product that cost 5x to 10x the price of an an import does not hold up as well as the import. I bought the Kool Mist because the import one I had purchased previously did not provide as fine a mist as I wanted. The KM performed as I expected when new but the durability is horrible. I am a retired toolmaker who has used KM products for decades. I don't know what has happened to them. I am currently running the cheap import version on my mill, it still has the same issues that made me replace, it, but at least it it sprays and still looks like it did when I put it in storage in the same box as the Kool Mist.

Here's the Fitting You Need
I just spoke with Kool Mist and a guy from Grainger to track down the proper fitting to connect the Kool Mist to my air compressor. Here's the Grainger part number: 30N280This will work with "most" common air compressors with 1/4" fittings. Hopefully that helps someone. Good luck.
