Leaky leaky...
We installed two Fluidmaster dual flush systems within the past year and each leak. The seals starting deteriorating for some reason after about six months and the water leaking / toilet running. No chemicals were placed in the tanks. Very frustrating...

Worst plumbing product I have ever used.
I wish I could rate this thing with negative stars; I'd rate it negative 1,000,000. I literally cannot imagine anything more frustrating than wasting my Labor Day holiday installing, repairing, uninstalling, and replacing plumbing that never worked from the moment it left the package.First of all, the design flaws on this thing are very well documented. One reviewer helpfully warned us that the Amazon vendor was mailing out a completely defunct original model. Sure enough, Amazon sent me an old, faded box with the original model number. The reviewer said that Fluidmaster would send a free adapter, but I called and they refused.Next, I went to Lowes to get the updated model--which still has problems such as leaking. Installation got off to a bad start when the shutoff valve crapped out. It was soldered to the copper line and the only shut off ahead of it was for the entire house. So, I shut off the water to my entire house and hurried to the hardware store to buy specialty tools and a replacement valve. The instructions allege that this thing can be installed in a couple of hours, but I decided to take my time because of all the well-documented problems with this device. After spending most of the day carefully installing this thing, I was worried about leaks--as this was the most cited problem. Unfortunately, I never got that far. When I went to test-flush the thing, it would not consistently flush. I followed the trouble shooting guide, and I even tried to call Fluidmaster. They close for all holidays and weekends, but they also close daily at 3 or 4 p.m. Pacific Time, which is practically midday for the rest of us. I kept increasing the amount of water in the tank and the amount of water per flush (which sort of defeats the purpose), but it never flushed consistently. It flushed somewhere between 1/3 and 2/3 of the time. My guess is that the handle/cable system has too much slack to consistently activate the flush. This also forced me to replace the line from the valve to the toilet, but I misjudged the length. Back to the hardware store.Regardless of why this thing doesn't work, it is incredibly frustrating to spend an entire day installing, repairing, uninstalling, and replacing this exceptionally poor product. I will never buy another Fluidmaster product again, if I can help it. In fact, even when I had to replace the line in to my toilet, I refused to buy Fluidmaster.

NOT THE RIGHT MODEL... VENDOR IS SELLING AN OUTDATED VERSION-MODEL WITH AN INFERIOR SEAL!!!
First of all, the NEW and REDESIGNED product line works great! However, this vendor is selling an old version of the product that has an inferior seal. I compared the one I bought at Lowes today with the one from this vendor that I installed yesterday (and de-installed today). The seal, the critical part has been totally redesigned by Fluidmaster. The current model has a retaining ring on the top of the silicon seal that insures a solid, water-tight fit. The older model doesn't. On the third use of the product shipped by this vendor, the seal wouldn't come down completely, allowing the toilet to run and drain for about a half an hour until I caught it.I purchased this product, because I had purchased/installed one before (from Lowes) and it worked flawlessly. That's why I bought the product from Amazon in the first place, since it was a better price point. However, when the product arrived from the Amazon vendor, I immediately noticed the packaging was a different design than the one I had previously purchased and installed. I knew there was something up with this version of the product and a subsequent close inspection of the seals confirmed that suspicion. The current, updated version of the product works perfectly. Evidently, this version shipped by the Amazon vendor was superseded with a new design by the manufacturer, who was probably aware of the failings in this model. The good news is that after I called Fluidmaster and they agreed to send me a new unit, so the company gets FIVE STARS for customer service. This vendor gets the one star, because not only are the units they are shipping are outdated and flawed, but I initially ordered 2 of these and one came cracked, so I returned it for credit. (AMAZON gets FIVE STARS for customer service also.)

Your results likely depend on the shape of the tank
I have two models of toilet in my house. One has taller, narrower tanks, and the other has shorter, wider, ones. I would give this five stars if I only had the tall tank kind of toilet in my house, but only 2 or 3 stars if the short tank kind.Installation in both types of toilet was fairly straight forward and went without any hitches. There were no subsequent leaks either. I had to use the angled adapter, and the key is to make sure the sealing gasket material is spread around the adapter properly as directed.Flushing EffectivenessWith the tall, narrow, tank, both the full and the half flush worked wonderfully without having to hold the handle at all. A short lift up gave a very complete half flush even with the valve set at the minimum water level. With the short, wide, tank, the system works, but you have to work at it a bit by holding the handle for an extra second or two. Otherwise the flush is not complete. This is true for both the half and the full flush. Even still, with the half flush water setting at maximum, the flushing action just barely completes.

It really works well
I ordered three of these about 9 months. I have installed and tested 2 of these for about 9 month and have had no problems. (i have to fix the 4" floor flange before I can use the 3rd toilet.) The product does work well. I thought it was faulty but after a few uses I learned that I needed to hold the handle up or down for a full second to function properly. I thought it would operate instantaneous like a conventional toilet. I don't think i am saving money on my bill but i am using less water and the correct amount of water per type of use. it was easy to install as well.

Poor quality product.
Handle broke within 2 weeks and the flapper would get stuck open allowing the water to keep running. Very poor quality product. Cheap and brittle plastic parts.

I'm feeling flushed
This kit was a relatively easy conversion. It features precise controls to help conserve precious water when a newer high-efficiency water closet can't be installed, yet.

Cable broke!
Don't do it. I thought changing from a standard flush to Duo would be cool. Easy to install yes. Water saving, when adjusted to work properly NO.

This generation fails just as the first generation did
Having owned previous versions of the duo flush, once again I rolled the dice believing Fluidmaster needed time to correct the issues of the past.
