Great Radio, but some minor issues
I ordered 2 of these units for my 2 boats. I put in about 5 hours of research to find out what is the best marine radio to order. At-least 2 hours of research went into just the PYLE radios. There are 3 models of this style : PLCD32MR, PLCD33MR(the ones i ordered), and the PLCD34MR. the 32 was the first to be released and it had some quirks, the 34 had some firmware issues as it turns out and the 33(the 2 i ordered) had the best reviews. the quirks from the 32 had been fixed and it didn't have the issues the 34 had. that being said, now onto the radios:Power Abilities:The first radio went into our ski boat. It just has 4 DUAL 6.5" 40~50Watt RMS coaxial speakers. The previous radio was a JVC from mid 90's ($100 then, a NON marine cd radio). The JVC was only 20watt RMS X4 with a 10 amp fuse. This PYLE has a 15amp fuse and its rated at 50watt X 4 MAX. Well now, this radio can REALLY DRIVE THE SPEAKERS! Now i can tell the difference between an underpowered radio and overpowered speaker distortion. This radio was OVER-DRIVING the speakers! i was almost all they way up but not maxed out. but it really drives the speakers nice. Clean throughout the spectrum. I had accidentally left the old 10amp fuse in my fuse panel and when i started cranking this PYLE it suddenly shut off! I was mad. I then thought to check the fuse. low and behold the LED fuse was bright red.(LED light up fuses are handy!) threw a 20 amp in (first i could find in all of 3 sec) and bingo! I was back up and working!(I can only comment on the power for our ski boat as our bigger boat has an amp that this radio is driving through Line Level inputs on the amp. I am Using a Crunch 1600.4 to drive a pair of Kenwood 5-way 6X9's and a pair of Kenwood 2 way 4X10's. Great sound for a budget of $300!!!!!)CD:The old JVC i had was the BEST cd player i have EVER SEEN! i could chuck any disc in and 5 sec later it would play fine. The best example is a Forest Gump disc we have. So many large and small scratches. And the disc was missing data from all over. But the old JVC would play fine and only get held up for about 1 sec at a bad spot. I didn't have high hopes for this radio as i have never seen such a good CD player. BUT BOY WAS I SURPRISED! this unit took a little longer at first to load but still played right along! I was so happy! This is a great CD player. It shows the info of the song that is currently playing as-well.Radio:I was a little disappointed here. Especially in our bigger boat. The radio that is in our ski boat only tuned slightly worse than the JVC. and its not sensitive enough. It will skip over a channel that comes in very well. In our ski boat the antenna just lays stretched out at max length in the bow of the boat. Our bigger boat has a smaller fixed antenna that is held up level with rub rail inside the hull. The ski boat will tune most radio stations but our bigger boat wont tune any! :( when i swapped antennas i had to hold the larger antenna in my hand for the radio in the bigger boat to start tuning.USB & Mem Card:This i thought was really cool. But it sorts the songs on its own order though.. It might be something im doing but all you can do is to switch songs is next or previous. i doesn't show a list or any thing of the songs on the device.Overall:This unit is sealed up very nicely. Looks well built and has good weight to it. It comes with nice plugin pigtails so uninstalling it is easy. THIS DOES NOT HAVE A DETACHABLE FACE! Its not really a worry for me but others it may be.When I bought this there were really good reviews. I do not know why there are such bad reviews here. It also has a nice small remote that works quite well.UPDATE: Well, just this past weekend the radio in our bigger no longer plays CD's. It will load them and eject them, but refuses to see that there is a CD in the unit. Not cool for a $90 Marine radio. On the phone with Pyle now, will see how this goes...

Don't buy this, read my details.
4 x 50 Watts? Absolutely not. I hooked it up to 4 JBL 6.5" 2 way speakers and it sounded OK until you turn the volume up. At 39 it is not even loud yet and at 43 (MAX) it's distorted horribly. Even though they state 4 x 50 Watts on this unit, you feel like your getting 25 max. Since the power was so low and remote is infrared, I sent it back and I looked around finding out that just about everyone is stating 4 x 50 Watts. They are not the same 50 Watts folks. I bought an Alpine CDE-143BT for $50 more. It does not have a remote, but you can find Alpine Marine remotes (head unit must have steering wheel remote support) online for that work amazing.. I was thinking that it was going to be a little bit better but that maybe my speakers my also be an issue even though they are fairly new. Boy was I wrong!!! Power was over the top even though it was still stating 4 x 50 Watts. Sub outs with separate sub volume allowed me to turn down my bass to the 6.5" speakers and turn up the subwoofer only which cleaned everything up and it's so loud, I love it! Hope this helps you in some way. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00BMRLK3Q/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

Pyle Equipment SUCKS
Last year I purchased a Pyle Radio for my boat and it lasted about six weeks. When I contact the shop about a replacement, they told me I had to box up and send the old product back to them for repair. That repair would take about 3-4 weeks or 1/3 of the entire summer, I would have a boat with no radio. I said to hell with them and I went a purchased another radio and installed it.This year I was shopping for another radio and speakers so I came across a deal on Amazon for another Pyle Radio. My hope was I just got the bad one of the lot and that my luck would change. Nope, it has been six weeks again and once again my PYLE RADIO will not produce any sound.WARNING TO ALL FUTURE PURCHASER OF MARINE RADIO's - AVOID PYLE PRODUCTS. That is if you want to use your sound system while your boats are in the water and not in storage.
