Kwikset 43033 6WAL DL SC 3 6-Way Adjustable Deadlatch in Polished Brass

The deadbolt latch slides right into the doorjamb and provides a snug fit for the weatherstripping. I used a pair of plastic drywall anchors to provide a better seat for the latch screws. The screw holes from the previous latch were deteriorating a bit too much. Quality of the parts seemed equivalent to the 30 year old parts it was replacing.

This set was somewhat less expensive than others, but I like saving money so I took the chance and it paid off. Installed easily and works fine. I don't see how a more expensive one could work any better.

Kwikset 43033 6WAL DL SC 3 6-Way Adjustable Deadlatch in Polished Brass: This latch can be used on exterior door knobs that are keyed. It is polished brass, but it is easy to remove the door-latch plate from your old door-knob (some other finish) and replace the polished brass one. Good to go. No one looks at the latch door plate anyway, so you could just use the polished brass one..Anyway, this one was about $9, cheeper than the others which were about $12 to $13. Likely cheaper because polished brass is not very popular anymore.

A perfect replacement item. Took minutes to install. Worked as well as the original.

So, the description says "Kwikset", but when they arrived, the branding on them clearly says "Baldwin". But the part fits my lock and I was able to use it successfully to repair my lock.

This part makes it easy to fix a Kwikset latch that won’t fully retract into the door. With normal wear and tear, it will probably last about five years but YMMV. A cheap fix to save you from buying a whole new door set.

The part was not a kwikset part, it was Baldwin. It works perfectly and matched as if it was a kwikset part. It is working just fine and solved my problem. I recommend with no hesitation. If you are not bothered that it is not kwikset it will work just fine. I rated only four stars for lack of it not being actually a kwikset part.
