I am a long way from the signals!
I have a Winegard GS-2200 Winegard GS-2200 Sensar III Digital Ready Antenna second story attic connected to my LG large screen and it works great. I'm about 30 miles from a butte... across mostly open desert... that has all the towers and I tried an outdoor, several indoor, one with a rotator and finally the Winegard that's amplified. I wanted to move my rarely played Wii from the TV room to my office but I didn't want to play anything on my 19" Dell monitor. I purchased a Samsung 22" T22C350ND Samsung 21.5-Inch HDTV LED Monitor (T22C350ND) TV/Monitor combo because it had connectors for the Wii and 2 HDMI so I could use a DVI to HDMI from my Dell Optiplex. All was ready to go... except I couldn't pick up a single channel on Air without an antenna. Even though I live in a pretty remote high desert area I am able to get about 12 crystal clear channels with the Winegard... and about 5 that are Ok but I wouldn't be watching them anyway. I connected the Terk and placed it on my desk behind the Samsung... on the ground floor in an area surrounded with trees & tall lilac bushes... and immediately got 10 channels crystal clear. They are the ones I wanted... ABC, CBS, NBC (3), Fox and PBS (4) and now I can flick to football games without leaving the comfy confines of my office... which has a wood stove going in the winter. I don't see why others are so unhappy with this antenna because it's omni-directional so you don't have to point it plus it's amplified... which is all that works n my little remote corner of the world. I'll be moving it off the desk and using the wall bracket to move it up higher and under a curtain to hide it. It was pretty much a Plug & Play and it gets 5-stars and at about 20 bucks to certainly beats about 50 bucks for another antenna in the attic that I would have to snake about 50 feet of cable from the attic to the office. This is a clean looking antenna and you can make it pretty inconspicuous but I really can't see it at all behind my 22" TV. By the way... the Samsung also gets 5-stars if you're looking for something that can hook directly to your computer as a monitor and still have all the advantages of a TV... and I paid about 120 bucks for it, with free shipping as an open-box item on that big auction site. If I have any future issues with the Terk I'll update the review but, right now, I'm very pleased with it.

"Refurbished" is putting it kindly...
My antenna arrived with hard white scuff/paint marks on both sides and on the back. Still, I shouldn't expect that it would look like it was new. However, the antenna also has a mounting screw broken off in base, which means that I can't easily mount it to the plastic base that was provided. (It did come with the 2 required mounting screws - they were floating around loose in the box, so I'm lucky I didn't lose them.) So now I have a heavy, clunky piece of plastic that will have to be mounted with a single screw (or I'll have to get a tiny drill tap to remove the broken-off screw). I suppose I should be thankful that this refurbished unit (at least temporarily) spares another one of these going into a landfill. It gets 2 stars because the RF amplifier appears to be in good working order. I hooked it up to a pair of rabbit ears (one of them broken off), and immediately got twice as many channels as I did with the Terk FDTV1A connected through the same amplifier, and also some low VHF, which the Terk antenna couldn't pick up. Overall, a pretty negative experience...

Best compact indoor TV antenna that looks great too!
I have bought 2 Terk amplified flat panel antennas before. I suggested this one to my friend who wants to cut off her cable bill. So this antenna with a Digital to Analog converter box was the answer. She also signed up fro Netflix. Sot he overall cost is much less than cable. My only advise is to put this TV antenna close to a window. It seems to work much better in front of a window. Obviously the closer to a TV broadcast tower the better. My wife is picky about the decor int he house and she likes the way this flat panel antenna looks like a piece of modern art. She is happy and I am happy!

Works
Bought for my mother who lives 9-40 miles away from broadcast stations. Wasn't expecting too much after checking out [...] but bought this anyway to see what we could pick up. She lives in a single family home, the antenna is up near the ceiling but not near any windows. It can be laid flat or on the side, we have it flat and it is nicely hidden from view. The amplifier needs to be plugged in but does allow up to pick up an extra 4 channels (if you don't plug it in, the amplifier isn't on and you can still pick up some stations where we are but not as many as when amplifier is on).We picked up PBS, CBS, ABC, CW, a few other local TV stations. Overall reception was clear. We are happy with product, the refurb price is much better than the retail price for the other identical product. We weren't sure it was going to work so this was a nice find.

Product Satisfied my Needs for Local Stations
Purchased this product as refurbished to see if it worked better than my outdoor antenna. Installed on wall in my bedroom up high toward the ceiling for the best signal reception. I use a commando to hang it up. It works really good. I was able to pick up all my local stations very clearly. I have not noticed any buffering yet. I have only had it 3 days but so far so good. I saw this recommended from another user over the Lava Indoor antenna. I plan to purchase the higher model for my den to replace my outside antenna to see if I can pick up more stations.

Refurbished TERK FDTV1A Omni-Directional Amplified Flat-Digital Antenna
I live in the country, quite a ways from the TV stations. It is not a perfect solution because we live so far from the stations and occasionally we get interference, mostly during the day. We are able to receive more stations with this unit than several other indoor antennas that we have tried in the past. One of those units was even another Terk that was meant for apartment use (sorry I do not remember the model number of that apartment unit).. The fact that this antenna was refurbished does not diminish its quality and the price was great and NO cable bills. Yes, we use it with our HDTV. My husband and I are pleased.
