Great replacement for a Visio that died.
We had a refurbished Visio soundbar that lasted only two years, so we needed another model to replace it. This one was on sale with Amazon for significantly less than current, so it was an easy choice. We needed a soundbar for a LG LCD that developed a flaky sound, sometimes dropping the sound. Usually, unplugging the TV was all it needed, but that got old. Repairing the TV was pointless, of course, since a new one was probably less than the repair, given the way LCDs have dropped in price over the years. So the soundbar seemed a better option, and might even add to the experience (I am not going to go to all the trouble and expense for a true surround sound, preferring plain old stereo for music and TV). The Visio was OK, but died and was a pain to get programmed into the remotes. Plus it would make popping sounds from time to time, especially as it aged. The LG sound bar was easy to unpack and install, although the top firing bass speakers were a little odd and I worry about possible damage in that location. There is even an included Toslink cable, unlike the Visio. I attached the Toslink to the TV, rather than having separate connections for the devices (there are two Toslink ports on the soundbar). Switching off the TV sound (which, of course, appears to work fine without issue now) was easy and the LG quickly realized there was signal on that port and switched to it, which was impressive. The included remote was easy to understand without looking at the manual, and I was able to program the universal remotes, including Logitech/Google TV and XBox One. I have yet to try the Bluetooth input, but assume it will be just as easy (if I encounter issues, I will post followup). I assumed the display would be a gimmick, but it is very useful, much more useful than trying to remember the various LED combinations of the Visio. You do need the manual to understand all the settings, but most are easy to understand. I like that it turns itself on and off, based upon signal input (I do have the peripherals programmed to shut it off when they turn off, just in case). The sound is good, although not much bass is present. The bass is much less than the Visio, but it did have a slightly bigger box to push bass out of. If I want heavy bass I could always add a subwoofer, but for most use it is fine. The sound range, up to 100 is a bit odd, as others have noted, but it works fine.Recommended!

Great Sound Bar
I got this from Amazon yesterday, installed it in minutes last night, and my family and I are thrilled with the sound, the look and the fit of this device. One of the things we've had the most fun playing with so far is the Bluetooth feature, which allows us to play music from our iPhones through the sound bar. We went with this sound bar over others because we don't have room in our "TV area" for a separate sub-woofer, which most other sound bar systems seem to come with. This one had the right look, size, features and price for us, and we're very happy with the TV and music sounds it produces. Much better than the built-in speakers on our Samsung smart TV, which we also love, but the audio part had always been lacking. Very happy with this purchase.1/30/14 Update: my TV service is Verizon FIOS, and when I installed the sound bar I had only the two device/two button FIOS remote, which controlled only the FIOS box and the TV, so I couldn't control the volume on the sound bar with my TV remote. However, I ordered from the Verizon FIOS website a four device/button remote and just put that in service, including programming the "AUX" button on that remote to control the sound bar volume. Now I can control the sound bar volume from my TV remote, and I can turn the TV, FIOS box and sound bar all on and off at the same time with one button on the new remote. I am keeping the sound bar remote handy to use other options on it, such as changing the sound mode and using Bluetooth. Just wanted to add this for any who may be considering this sound bar and wondering how to get it to work with a FIOS TV remote.3/26/14 Update: I have this sound bar hooked to the back of my TV with a Mediabridge Toslink cable I got on Amazon. I also have the sound bar hooked to my FIOS set top box with the optical digital cable that came with this sound bar, which is a thinner cable than the Mediabridge Toslink cable. So, I can switch between sound sources -- TV or set top box. The sound from the TV through the Mediabridge cable is noticeably richer than the sound from the set top box through the thinner cable that came with this sound bar. There may be a whole bunch of other reasons for that difference, but I believe it may be at least in part because of the better quality/thickness of the Mediabridge cable compared to the one that came with the sound bar. I'm very glad that LG provides a cable with this sound bar, but you may want to try getting a separate cable. I paid around $5 for the 3 foot cable I got on Amazon.

High Quality Sound Bar
I have a 2012 model 50PA4500 LG 50" plasma TV. It has been a fantastic TV, but wanted to improve on the sound quality with the addition of a sound bar. The TV is located in my good sized living room and I normally sit about 15' away. After reading some Amazon reviews on the LG NB2530A sound bar, I was concerned that the unit might not have enough power to fill the room with the 100 Watt rating. However, when Amazon had the unit priced at the time $100 under list, I thought that I would give it a try.No surprise that the sound bar arrived very well packaged and quickly from Amazon, as I have come to expect. The NB2530A included the sound bar, remote control, AC power adapter, optical cable (about 3' long), usb right angle adapter, wall bracket and basic instruction manual. The sound bar unit itself was very high quality and extremely easy to setup.Pros:Great sound, usually have it set at under 20 of 100 available (not ground shaking, but certainly enough to fill the room for TV)Multiple sound choice type settingsUSB input for memory stick to play musicNo need to purchase separate optical cable, if 3' length works for youHigh quality, but extremely low price paid (under $68)When TV shuts off/turns on the sound bar also does (about 30 second delay when turning off)Cons:Could not find a way to get my 2012 model LG TV remote to control sound volume on sound barVery minor con with the "optical 1" lcd light constantly displayed, do not really notice it anymoreAll in all, I'm extremely pleased with this sound bar and would highly recommend it, if again not looking for sound to shake the walls, but only to greatly improve the sound quality over the TV speakers.
