Dock works great so far
I have had this for a few days so far and my initial indication is that it's a solid, well built dock. I had a previous iBolt dock for my HTC one X and I loved that one and the suction on these will last for a very long time. In the two years I had my previous iBolt dock, it only fell off the windshield once and that was due in part to me repositioning it several times to get it "just right".This dock has similar build qualities and appears it will last for some time as well. My only issue with this one is that the spring mechanism is so tight on the top grip that it is very difficult if not impossible to insert/remove the phone with one hand without swiveling the whole dock upward. I realize this was done in an attempt to accomodate all/most phones in their respective cases but since it was so easy to flip up the top latch on my last dock to remove the phone, this will take some getting used to. I may even resort to modifying the springs or removing them so the latch simply falls loosely into place rather than spring closed. All other normal functions are there. It is very sturdy while driving when the nut is tightened down on the swivel joint, no vibration evident. The camera on my phone (Samsung S5) is clearly unobstructed for video recording if needed. Would be nice to have the NFC tag but as was answered in the questions, the S5 currently doesn't support dock mode, no fault of iBolt. The charging cord is a bit clumsy but I'm not using it anyway. I would prefer a plug in style dock but again this isn't practical for a dock that accomodates so many makes and models of phone. I'm using this with this case on a GS5 and it fits perfectly with room to spare http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I3UWD7C/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Good, but be careful
This holder is very well made. Comes with a USB cable that's quite long. The suction cup is the concern. It is also coated with a gel-like material similar to the gel used to install windshields. Once installed, it will take some strength to get it off. Mine is staying where it is, so it doesn't matter. So if you are planning to install this on your dash, it will cause damage. The instructions do give you this warning. I got this for my Xperia Z. This is designed for phones that have the power and sound ports at the top or bottom, not on the sides like the Xperia's charging port. The phone is not centered on the holder, but it is well held by the strong spring loaded top bracket. The bottom feet adjust forwards and backwards, but there is no way to adjust them sideways. The NFC tag is a cute convenience. If you don't want to use their iBolt Drive, you can assign the tag to open your driving app of choice. I grew to like the iBolt app. It works for me. It also has some cable management clips to route the USB cable either way. I particularly added an auxiliary cable using the remainder cable clips. Makes the phone look like its on life support, but the final product is that I get to use my phone as a decent traveling tool.

Best I've found so far, but skip the NFC version!
First, context. My previous phone was a Moto Photon. It had a custom after-market dock with an integrated charging port. It fit the phone like a glove. There doesn't seem to be anything like that for the Galaxy S5. This is the best mount I've found so far.The positives first. The suction cup mounts firmly and positively. The arm is stiff and solid, and does not vibrate like two previous mounts I tried. The ball mount can be tightened and loosened to allow a range of mobility/immobility. The clamps hold the phone firmly in place, and does not interfere with the screen - always a bit of a problem the Photon. The built in cable management (I use the term loosely, lol) keeps the cord positioned near the charging port. Now the negatives. The suction cup has some sort of unnecessary sticky goo on it. It may promote adhesion, but it leaves a mess on your windshield or your console. It seems to clean off relatively easily, but WHY? The arms are positioned such that the phone can only be mounted one way - an inconvenience. The flexibility of the mount allows you to position it without a problem. Just make sure you're got your charging cord run out the right end before you leave home. Finally, as I mentioned in the title, the phone doesn't dock automatically unless it's positioned just right against the NFC chip. I don't use the NFC. I just downloaded the manufacturer's app and put a shortcut on my home screen. I recommend you save your money and do the same!

but for those with big phones (not tablets) will definitely love this product
Im a mr gadget kind of person, and believe me when i say that i have tried a lot of different kind of cell phone car mounts and so far none can surpass the performance of this mount. well for one thing, this is not meant for small puny phones. but can still accommodate them i think. lol. but for those with big phones (not tablets) will definitely love this product. the suction cup?!.... wholi krap!! it sucks so hard you have a hard time removing it. (but doable).. im just saying it sticks really good. the most recent package for this CAN come with the nfc tag which is really handy in turning on driver mode and opening the driver app which can tell people that your driving and should not bother you till later. if in case the suction cup becomes not so sticky anymore..... the remedy to bring back the sticky power is simply "warm water and soap". yes just wash it with warm water and soap (non greasy) dishwashing soap usually does the trick.... and presto!!! its ALIVE!!! lol.
