Hands down the best vacuum EVER!!
This is my second miele vacuum. I have an electric head version and this one. Both machines have superb suction power. Once you own a miele, you will never want another vacuum. Hands down, the absolutely most functional vacuum you will ever purchase. Dont waste your money on another brand. There are two attachmemts every owner should buy to make their life much easier for vacuuming floors, baseboards, furniture etc...the swivel parket floor attachment is a must. Ditch the standard floor attachment this machine comes with and spend the extra money for the parket swivel head. It manuvors 1000% easier AND you can use this same attachment to vacuum baseboards, blinds, and large surface furniture. You cant beat the ease of use. It is and has been my #1 attachment for 15 yrs now. It is great for pet hard on hard surface floors as.well This machine will suck it all. The power of the suction is unmatched. Your floors will feel soooo clean. The C1 vacuum is much lighter and glides across the floor so much more smoothly than my older version with the electric wand and electric brush head from 15 yrs past. These machines last forever which makes them super cheap long term. The second must have attachment is the oval shaped flexible dusting brush. It dusts large surfaces and is super gentle. I 1000% recommend buying this machine. I will never ever buy another brand. I am a huge miele fan because the cleaning power is unmatched. I bought one for my sister and my step mom. I recommend it to everyone needing an excellent machine with every convient accessory one could buy. You wont be sorry for this purchase. The C1 classic is for.hardwood.floors and area rugs with short to no pile. This machine is NOT for standard carpeted bedrooms etc..If you need one for carpet, you need to buy the version with the electric head and electric wand. It is AMAZING!!! It is slightly heavier than the C1 but wow does it clean carpet.

Excellent Purchase!
Love this vacuum. The suction is phenomenal. I have all hardwoods and a few rugs and there is an attachment for everything. I have to say that this vacuum picks up more and does a better job than my expensive Rainbow. Lightweight and easy to move with it. If you are “on the fence” about it, buy it!

I LOVE this vacuum
This just arrived yesterday, and I've been vacuuming ever since. The floors, the couch, the curtains, the top of the cabinets, the AC vents, the dogs. I don't think my apartment has ever been cleaner. I specifically love: The suction: I live in a loft apartment in an old renovated mill, and there are huge cracks between the floorboards of the beautiful hardwood floors. Over the years, lots of stuff has fallen between them, especially considering I have dogs. So dog fur, pieces of their food and treats, tons of dust, etc. The suction on this thing is so great that it sucked all that stuff right up from between the boards. I don't think this apartment has ever been cleaner than it is now. The noise: It's quite quiet compared to the shop vac I had prior to this vacuum. My dogs hate/attack it far less than my previous vacuum. I'm used to fighting off dogs while vacuuming; this thing is quiet enough that they don't perceive it as a threat. Which makes the process easier. The filters: I have a sensitivity to mold and have been very sick in the past from black mold at another apartment. I know this building has water damage too, but there is no visible water damage in my unit. However, as humid at the climate here is, and as much as I can smell a musty odor, I became very concerned about recurrent mold exposure - plus became symptomatic again. I got a great dehumidifier to dry the unit out, and this vacuum, unlike others I've had in the past, does not disturb and throw dust/mold spores up into the air. Instead it is all sucked into the vacuum where the triple filtration means that I'm not risking exposure when I vacuum by aerosolizing the spores (which I know are there - they are everywhere). I even used it to lightly vacuum the bottom of my IQ Air prefilter to remove the dog hair and large debris, and I've had no reaction and seen no floating particles in the air during this process. I do also run my IQ Air at the highest setting while vacuuming, and that thing is a powerhouse. The attachments: I think they are great. The main floor attachment is obviously quality. I like the upholstery attachment - it works really well for pet hair and my couch has never been cleaner. It also did a great job on my curtains. The round soft bristled attachment is really great for strong suction on delicate scratch-able surfaces like wood furniture. It's gentle but will pick up all the dust. The narrow attachment for edges is great - fantastic size for getting into narrow spaces too. The various suction settings: I like that I can turn down the suction because as another reviewer noted, this thing is powerful, and on full suction it would be very difficult to maneuver over a small rug. I love this thing. A great investment.

Fraction of the prices to other vacuums and out works them.
Having many many types of vacuums from cordless to upright, lift away to canister ETC throughout the years. After researching vac after vac I decided on a Miele canister, I purchased the lowest priced Miele there is ($260 i believe) and added my own attachments and hepa filters and extra bags to meet my needs all for well under $400 you cannot beat this vacuum. It has great suction, it rolls nicely, it’s light weight storage is not an issue even in a small home. Believe me when I say this is a wonderful vacuum for whole house cleaning, top to bottom, i have had lift away uprights and this canister is much lighter than the liftaways i was so surprised. Before purchasing this vac (C1 classic) I was going to purchase a rainbow, they are great had one in the past, water filtration is the best in my opinion, but after reviewing countless vacuums I gave Miele a shot and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The air in my house is cleaner i know this because dusting has been cut in half, cleaner floors, window sills, ceiling fans, mattresses you name it, it’s been vacuumed. And it takes less time to dust and vacuum with this vacuum cleaner I’m assuming due to the high suction and maneuverability and the right attachments I can do my whole house and a deep clean in no time. I have used this vacuum nearly every day since purchasing, about a month or so now, and is working like it did day one. For reference I have an all hard floor home no carpet some area rugs with one messy husband and two cats. I’ve had all the name brand vacs from dyson, shark, rainbow, etc, I will never go back to a bag less vac and will never go back to a cordless vac. This vacuum has proven to restrict dirty air from escaping the bag back into the room and the retractable cord is just long enough for my needs, even if I have to replug elsewhere in the house i am Totally fine with that, it’s better than waiting for a battery to charge to finish vacuuming. If you want cleaner air in your home and a vacuum that does the job in half the time this is the one for you. I’m a clean freak and I highly recommend this vacuum!

Answers & advice on Pure v Turbo models, Miele attachments + actual usage
I will answer the question that most of you have - if you have many area rugs, mats and carpet (low pile to manageable medium pile), which model should you buy? If money is no object, get the powered version that uses the powered hose. The C1 does NOT include any power hose even if it may look like it does - it is suction only. I wouldn't consider using it for shag carpet and can see it as a beast to manage. I have many area rugs and low pile carpet. The basic C1 Pure is the exact same engine as every other Miele C1 - the ONLY difference are the attachments. Here is where it gets challenging and I will tell you my experience. The C1 Pure attachment includes the SBD 365-3 Combination Floorhead. It's OK and will be the one tool to have the worst 'stick' effect to your rugs and carpets. I had to turn my vacuum down to the lower or lowest suction to have some semblance of "smooth" rolling over my carpets and rugs. I hated that it has a plastic bottom and wondered how abrasive this effect was, since pushing forward is the only easy way and there is friction, albeit manageable at that low level. I'd only buy this for mostly wood or tile floor, but even then I'm not so thrilled with the attachment. Now this model can be purchased for MUCH less than the Turbo model at times, and some buy replacement aftermarket tools like the Splinova Miele Turbo Head Cleaner, Hand Attachment and Floor Tool Accessory. I have not used it and some swear it's near as good as the original. You'll save about $65 off of buying the Turbo edition. But it's not all that clear. The attachment you want is the STB 305-3 TurboTeQ Floorhead. It is the only one that is non-powered that makes vacuuming on rugs and low pile carpet manageable. You can raise the vacuum level higher and push forward. Backward will created a stacked, brushed out look and friction, likely because the wheel is spinning forward and you're overpowering it moving it backward. So you'll need to only go forward to be truly effective, picking it up and pulling back to go forward again if you want to stay in a similar spot. As to the brush attachment, it is better than the Combination Floorhead which is pretty good for what it is and certainly convenient. I've seen some say the bristles wear out more quickly and wondered whether I'd be better off with a cheaper imitation of this tool if I really felt it necessary. So - even though I got a GREAT deal on the C1 Pure and then saw the price was raised, I wasn't sure this was the way to go. Problem is Miele's seriously overpriced accessories required 2 accessories to replace the Pure, which was OK but I wondered about durability and the issue I mentioned. You don't need to go that route because the Floorhead is a pretty good tool. But if you want to replace that brush, you need to buy two supposedly 'quality' accessories your savings from the Pure model. So the $95 savings of the Pure of the Turbo drop from $65 to near $35-40 - which still seems better but not really as much. So I opted for the C1 Turbo when it was on sale - but the Pure can certainly be an option + aftermarket tool. Just be aware of this and you can be pretty darn happy to save on overpriced Miele accessories if you wish to go that route. HEPA Filters: It's incredibly ludicrous and a very bad choice for Miele not to include a Hepa filter and that you have to buy them aftermarket, at least those are the affordable ones. If you're paying a premium for the product, this seems ludicrous and a nice use by competitors in the market should they step up their game. I still wouldn't avoid purchasing due to this, just buy a HEPA filter if you need it. You can use the original until it goes. I think ALL of Miele's products are overpriced at a premium. They are better than their competitors at present. Their accessory prices are ludicrously overpriced. An extension tube aka crevice tool is $34 for a piece of flexible plastic. For some reason aftermarket have done mediocre jobs and some say they are worthwhile. When deciding which model to purchase, very seriously consider the accessories. To me, the Blue Turbo C1 was the right model on sale and, from there, I would ONLY consider a powered model with the powered power nozzle as an option. But that was way out of my price range and need. Short Cord: Yes - it's unfortunately only 20 feet. Nobody in the US cares how small apartment rooms are in Germany when they are vacuuming their 20 foot rooms and stretching to the ends and going no further. Accept it. They don't have to change anything until a competitor comes ot the market. Bags: They are small. Very small. However, I found I could do a 1100 SF apartment and not fill a bag, maybe take me a couple of times to fill it. After using other devices with larger bags, it came down to not wanting to ruin my rugs and carpets and this was the compromise. Hope this helps.

Beautiful beast.
"Everything about this vacuum is excellent! It has superb build quality, strong and adjustable suction, and a lightweight design. The seals are fantastic with no dust leaking, and it runs very quietly. The option to add HEPA filters is a huge plus. Highly recommended!"

Great suction, long lasting product, and easy to but off Amazon!
I purchased the Miele Classic C1 Pure Suction in Graphite Grey and have already used it 3–4 times for both house cleaning and vacuuming the car. It is incredibly portable, easy to use, and has the strongest suction of any vacuum I have ever owned. This is actually my second Miele; my first one lasted an amazing 26 years, and I only parted with it to pass it down to my son because it still works perfectly! I am completely sold on Miele's quality and highly recommend this brand. Plus, buying it on Amazon was a breeze—just a few clicks and it was at my door, saving me a trip to the store. Definitely recommend!

Great vacuum for pet owners IF you have mostly hard floors.
I have one i bought probably 10 years ago that has been the best hardwood floor vacuum I've ever had. When I moved into my much larger, multi level home a few years ago, I bought this updated version of the older one I had (s2100). This one had slightly more power but whether that's by design or just that my older one is ...well, older, I don't know. They are tough little workhorses! 7 cats and this upward venting design was THE only reason I have this brand a try. Every other vacuum shot the exhaust horizontally and blows all the hair and dust around. Now that I don't have to contend with vacuum being the problem, cleaning and keeping a large pet home tidy is a breeze. These bags they've designed are some kind of wizardry as they can be slap full and still it runs along perfectly. With 2 more filters after the bag (hepa options available), having this over a messy bag less option is the onlyworkhorse! Docked a start because they did go cheap by using plastic for the slot the wand slides into the base for storage. The only obvious design should have been metal. My oldest one is already not able to stand up any more and that does make it highly annoying to wrangle it for storing. For a $300+ item, how much more would metal have been, really?? Carpet owners, this is not the one for you. Get the one with the powered head so you can have a rotating brush for carpet.
