Perfect for 2002 Mazda 626; Configure Bluetooth for all speakers first, though!
I bought this for my 626. It has a lot of features that I don't use. So my review is based only on my use of:• Bluetooth to play my songs streamed from my phone• USB port so I can change my phone• Bluetooth for hands-free calls• CD player• Radio to listen to local weather/bridge conditionsI've been using this radio for three weeks now, and to be honest, I can't think of any real cons. Here are some nit-pick cons, though:• You have to change the settings so that Bluetooth audio comes through all speakers. Initially, it only plays through the front speakers.• The "6" button double for a Play/Pause button. In my brain, play/pause should be its own button, and very prominent. Nevertheless, it's takes about 10 seconds to get used to using the 6 button, so no biggie.• It feels like $110 is a bit pricey for a radio, however this is a very feature-rich unit and it's very competitively priced.Notable pros based on my limited experience:• I bought my radio from Amazon in December 2013 and it came with the latest firmware (3.0) which has all the Bluetooth firmware fixes. Pairing is very easy—I never looked at the user manual to figure it out. It has never dropped out. When I start the car and get in, it automatically re-pairs with my phone and is ready to go.• Listening to calls through the car stereo is cool, and others say that the sound quality through this Kenwood mic/unit is very good. It's also turned out handy because I'm currently in a place where the law requires one to use hands-free phones.• The changing lights are very cool. Kids love it. You can also fix it on any of the 25 colors.• Although this radio is meant to work with an iPhone or iPad, Kenwood also offers an Android app. I find no use for it, actually, but in an iPhone-centric world, I'm glad Kenwood has made the effort to reach out to Android owners.• Because of static and dryness, a lot of dust collects on it. But I can remove the faceplate to clean/dust it really well.I love this Kenwood and recommend it whole-heartily.I installed it using the following, all of which I recommend:• OTC 7575 Radio Removal Tool for Ford• Metra 99-7505 Single or Double DIN Installation Multi-Kit for Select 1994-2006 Mazda Vehicles -Black• Metra 70-7903 Radio Wiring Harness for Mazda 01-Up Power/4 Speaker• Gardner Bender AMT-121 22-18 Gauge Butt Splice, 25-Pack• Irwin Industrial Tools 2078300 8-Inch Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper with ProTouch Grips• Wagner Spray Tech 0503008K Dual-Temperature Heat GunI've never installed a radio before, but I followed YouTube videos for removing the old one (search for "Mazda Miata Stereo Removal and Repair 1999 2005" because it's the identical double-DIN radio) and wiring documents found on the Web, and it all came together without a single problem.

Feature-rich head unit for a terrific price
Bought this deck for my son's 16th birthday to put in his car. This replaced the factory double-din stereo that came with the car, so I bought a double-din to single-din install faceplate. Installation was a piece of cake (I've done dozens of stereo installs and this deck installs as simply as it gets). He already had an aftermarket amp/sub box in the trunk for the bass, but the door speakers were not amplified except by his factory stereo (minimal) but the door speakers were aftermarket. After putting this stereo in to replace the factory one, he was extremely impressed with the immediate sound quality improvement.Functions on this head unit are perfect for him. He uses his iPhone 5 via bluetooth connection to stream his music right to the deck and it works perfectly. No connection issues, music playback is crystal clear, and it connects fast as soon as he's in the car. The stereo controls the phone, so no need to even take his phone out of his pocket. Make sure you take the time to run the bluetooth speaker correctly in your car and make use of it, because this is such an important safety feature. My son didn't think he would care to use the hands-free bluetooth calling feature, but he says he can't live without it now and it's nice that he doesn't even have to touch his phone in the car anymore. The price on this head unit was very reasonable for the features it has. It also looks great, has a ton of sound quality control features, crossovers, filters, etc. and the color options for the LED lighting are endless. You can dial it in to perfectly match your car's interior lighting colors, or go with a rotation of color changes for a fun visual effect. This stereo also doesn't look like some crazy high-end unit when it's turned off, so thieves will likely bypass your car and head for the fancy SUV with the navigation system instead. However, this unit is packed full of really useful features similar to other high-end models. The 555 series is the middle of the line for this model, but it had just the right features for what I wanted my son to have for sound quality and safety.I love and own Kenwood car stereo head units, and have for over 20 years now. I knew they wouldn't let me down again.

Great stereo for great price
This is a great stereo. I've got Kenwood 10" subs and a 1,000 Warr Kenwood amp to go with it. My only problem with it is the Bluetooth does not connect right away, or even at all sometimes. Which means you gotta restart it, or manually select it. The other thing I wish it would do was have a favorite device setting. So if you have 2 or more Bluetooth devices registered, it will automatically connect to the "favorite" device rather than a random one. Other than these minor complaints I love it. The USB works great, and even though I don't use Pandora, it is great it's compatible with it. Highly recommend this stereo
