Clinical Nursing Instructor - I give these as gifts
I teach freshmen nursing students in a cardiovascular telemetry unit and I give these reference booklets as an end of semester gift to students. As freshmen, part of the booklet is very useful now in their current semester but the booklet will become most useful in the future as they progress their through nursing program (especially their senior year in the critical care setting).

Read This Before Buying!
After reading all the positive reviews I decided to shine some light on the reality and clinical applications of this guide. If you are a 3rd or 4th-year medical student this guide only highlights very basic information that you most likely already know and won't find relevant. If you fall into this category please refrain from buying this guide as it would not give you an edge in any sense of the word, you are better off spending more money in a complete guide that contains relevant info. However, if you are a PCT, LPN, BSN, MSN or even an NP this guide could very well come in handy. This book is incredibly portable (weighs next to nothing) and fits perfectly into most scrubs and white coat pockets, My bf, who bought the book, thinks it is an excellent purchase for the price. If you are looking to find a guide with more pages and or references you would be hard pressed to get one at this price range, he would urge you to either make your own personalized guide or to save some cash and buy a higher end guide that would better serve its intended purpose.List of Cons1. The pages do not come laminated and are prone to be stained.2. Some of the info is outdated/incorrect.3. Small Print.4. Cheaply made.5 Only 10 pages.6. In most cases info is irrelevant.List of Pros1. Cheap2. Very portable fits in lab coat/scrubs 14x9cm (5.5x3.5 inches)4. Here is what's inside. Great quick reference.
Since the description doesn't really tell you what you get, and since the list on the cover is not comprehensive.... I thought I would list it in my review. This handy little book measures 14x9cm (5.5x3.5 inches) if you include the spiral. Easily fits into any shirt pocket... even if you are not wearing a whitecoat. Sturdy cardstock pages, but still weighs almost nothing.Contents:Common ECG rhythmsWaveform measurement typical valuesCardiopulmonary values12 lead axis chart with deviationsACLS algorithmsACLS Cardiac Arrest for V.fib, , asystoleACLS Post Cardiac Arrest Care, Acute coronary syndromes, adult bradycardia, adult tachy, suspected strokeCanadian Neuro Scale,NIH Stroke Scale,Lab Values for Heme, Chemistries, blood gases, urine, toxicology, cs, synovial, endocrineSerum drug levels (therapeutic and toxic) for many common drugs.Daily Body Fluids with electrolyte and volumeAscitic and pleural fluidsReplacement Fluids,Helpful equations (anion gap, fractional Na excretion, etc.)Phlebotomy tube color codesUnit conversionsForm guides for Admit/Transfer orders, On Service, Progress, Discharge, Pre-Op, Op, Post Op, Procedure, Delivery, PostpartumApgar ScoringEstimate Delivery DateGlucose Tolerance ValuesDevelopmental Milestones 2mos to 4 years (quick ref. only)Immunization ScheduleForm guide for H & P and NeuroMMSEGlasgow Coma ScaleDermatome Map6 Blank pages,Symbol and Letter SnellenRuler (1-5 inches and 1-13 cm)

handy reference book
handy little book for quick reminders as a PA student on my clinical rotations. It fits in my white coat or scrubs pockets. I am a little annoyed that they slapped an ugly paper sticker on the front cover that won't peel off.

Great for medical students
This reference booklet is extremely helpful to have. I carry it in my pocket daily as a medical student. The pages are conveniently color coded so that you can quickly flip to any particular section. The booklet is small in size - I keep mine in the front pocket of my scrub top.

I will always keep it on me in clinic!
I have had one of these since starting PA school and finally needed to replace it.I will always have this on me in clinic, and even keep important notes in mine. I just wish there was a mini folder for additional storage.

Great addition for medical students
It is very neatly constructed and everything can be easily found when you need it. I would 10/10 suggest it to other med students.

Great book, but the pdf version covers a lot more important topics!
This book is genuinely good. Covers all the important lab values, scales, etc. But the pdf version of this book (which is available for free online) covers more topics such as epinephrine dosing for anaphylaxis, rapid sequence intubation, and so much more! Not saying the hard copy isn’t good. It’s great. But the pdf covers more topics. So I would recommend getting the pdf version.
