I love this camcorder! Both the 2D & 3D video is great, and even in low light. I've done several video's indoors in which the lighting has been very low and I'm blown away by how good the video looks, and of course, it also looks awesome when out in the sunshine too. The steady shoot image stabilization works really good, and the zoom on this camera is fantastic, with great video, even zoomed at max. I'm using the auto mode setting for everything simply because it just works! It does a really good job at automatically changing all the settings to give the best video under every condition. I found the setup and operation very easy to use, and only had to look in the manual to see what a couple of things were, but for the most part, using this cam is just very intuitive.The only gripe I have with this camcorder is that the 3D video files can't be easily converted and used to play on a 3D TV. It seems all the manufacturer's have this same problem, they all output the 3D video files as dual stream mts files, and you can't directly play these files on most 3D TV's, or edit them with most software. I have a Vizio 3D TV which won't play the 3D mts files at all. I do have a new Samsung 3D TV which will directly play the mts 3D files, but the size of the 3D files is really huge, so I still needed to convert these files to a more useable size. After much effort in trying numerous programs, I was finally able to find a video editing software called Edius 7, which can directly import the 3D video files from this cam, allow you to edit them, add transitions, etc... and then can save the file into a standard 3D SBS format that can be played on my 3D TV's. It's just seems stupid as can be to me that these 3D camcorder manufactures charge us an arm & leg to buy these cam's, and don't even include a utility to convert the 3D video files to a format that can be used on our 3D TV's!I still give this camcorder a 5 star rating, despite the stupidly of no conversion software for 3D files, because the camera it's self produces the best video I've ever seen!

Sony's HDR-TD30V Full HD 3D is more trouble then it's worth, only being able to see 3D on the 3.5 LCD screen on the camcorder and its hard to work in 2D and 3D with the software's different TV platforms.

Good camcorder no Mac support. Link listed in manual leads to site written in Japanese. Also can not understand instructions for aligning lenses

This product has exceeded my expectations in all aspects.All features and its user interface is very well designed.Its main positive aspects are:- The image stabilization is the best I've seen in 15 years as a user of domestic camcorders.- The 3D effect is amazing, and allows you to record important memories and moments of your private lives with the sense of immersion that only 3D allows.The only negative aspect I noticed was the short battery life. In this regard, I got a kit with 2 extra batteries for long-lasting that solved the problem. I recommend anyone who is buying the product that does the same because the original battery only lasts for about 30 minutes.

The Sony HDR-TD30 is an excellent camcorder. Shooting in 3d gives stunning results on a 3d TV. The internal 3d viewfinder works very well without 3d glasses. People I have shown it to are amazed. The TD30 is also a very good 2d camera with loads of automatic and manual features including Zabra Pattern exposure monitoring for those who need full control of 2d movie making. I've used the camcorder a lot for both 3d and 2d movies and have not been disappointed. Only slight issue is that it doesn't take 3d still pictures but then it's a camcorder!The package deal is great value. I got a Sony brand camera case and 2 Sony brand 32gb memory cards. The batteries work well and it's good to have 2 spares. Only issue here is that there is no external charger, you have to charge them in the camera. But you can pick up an external charger at reasonable price from Amazon. Those extras in themselves make the deal worthwhile, but the other extras are also great to have.I'm very happy with the whole package.

As a 3D fan I loved this product from the start. The included 3D viewfinder is excellent as well as the final 3D results. I hope next version (if there is one) includes a 3D picture mode.
