11" Inch Tough Friction Articulating Magic Arm Kamerar for Camera Hot Shoe Mount Monitor

I have a lot of arms - bogen-manfrottos (large, single and double arms) and a few of the cheaper Chinese units like this one. There is no comparison between the quality of any of the others compared to this one. While its new and I don't know how well it will wear, I have never seen a clamp that clamped so solidly. No need to turn the handle with pliers to keep the arms and end-swivels tight. It works like a tool should. The fit and finish are excellent. And, it comes laid out in a piece of foam perfectly cut out for the unit. Someone in China has figured out how to do it right and they have priced it fairly.

Very flexible and easy to use. I have my DR-60d mounted to a camera cage via this little guy. It takes a while to set up and is a little finicky trying to keep it tight, however I can't complain too much. It does the job and is perfect for what I'm using it for. I'd buy another if I needed a 2nd one.

It seems like some others may have gotten defects, but I have two of these and they work great. I use them to mount 7" LCDs to my cine and video cameras and have been very pleased. I've had many magic arms over the years... everything from the $100+ Noga arm to the no-name $15 ones. Although I've found the cheaper arms fine for light-duty tasks, this compares to the higher-end ones and has given me no problems at all supporting heavier items. I've used this for several months now with no problems at all.

Does just what it says, and when you tighten down, it is solid. I used it (with a second arm attached to the hot shoe) to mount a 5D with a full sized lens to a helmet, successfully. No shake or droop.

I can't believe how sturdy this thing is! The genius of this design makes me wonder why any other company would be careless enough to create a friction arm with a round locking knob. Kamerar was intelligent enough to create a friction arm that has the ability to be EASILY tightened without needing pliers. It locks SOLID. after tightening it properly, I couldn't even break movement with physical force. to sum it up...This thing is AWESOME!

This works ok for light use. It is pretty stable in the 'angular' direction but is weak in the 'rotational' direction if that makes any sense. Where the black arms meet the stainless ends is the weak link- it tends to rotate easily if much weight is applied in an off-center direction. I can get it to lock in but I have to tighten it very very hard. The build quality is great and I would purchase another if this issue were addressed. This is based on first 3 uses. I hope it may improve after a break-in period.

I use this to mount a 7" LCD to my video and cine cameras and it works very well. It sounds like some other folks may have gotten defective ones, but I have two of these and they both perform flawlessly and are built much better than the cheap no-name magic arms (although those cheap ones aren't bad for lighter-duty tasks). I'd definitely recommend these.

Ill leave an update once I have been using it for a while. It feels super sturdy and well made, I have used noga arms that cost way more, and this arm is up to par! Highly recommend
