Very versatile
I use this for much more than the intended purposes. Anything that you might need a small pick or tool to open something, or if you need a small amount of light like with a door lock.

Plenty bright to get the job done, but needed adjustment
Initial inspection made it clear that something was up with the lights in this. There is one "button", two lights. When pushing the button, one light would come on solid, the other would flicker - unless pressing really hard. I tried pushing on different areas on the button, but that didn't change the behavior much. Both lights activating at the same time, when you are only ever going to be using one side at a time, seems like a design flaw.I removed the three screws and took a look inside. There are two LED bulbs. One "leg" from each LED is straight, and goes under the two batteries (making contact with one side of the coin cell batteries) and the other leg from each is bent at an angle and remains on top of the batteries, with a plastic ring keeping the legs from making contact until you give enough pressure to push the legs to make contact with the battery.I ended up bending the top leg of each just a little bit more, and trimmed between 1/8"-1/4" from the ends of that side only. I experimented with giving very slight bends towards the battery, until I was satisfied. Now the lights on the key activate separately, by pushing on the side of the button closest to each light, and I was also able to adjust the amount of pressure needed to activate them. Perfect now! These look like simple LED diode lights, and it makes me wonder if I get the right size and proper voltage ones, if I could change the color of these lights.Anyway, I wish this thing worked like this right out of the box, but I needed an easy little project to work on this evening.

Not as great as I had hoped
Where to start? OK, first off, there are two lights, and the light for double locking ALWAYS comes on, while the actual cuff key part “usually “ comes on. I don’t know if it’s intentional design or just poor placement of the pressure sensor. But that double lock light shines right in your face as your trying to look at the cuff key light. Other issue is that the attachment to the split ring is very low quality… it will break, just a matter of how long. Third issue is the barrel of the cuff key is made with a cheap metal, I also don’t see it lasting long.

Replacement
I bought this replace one I bought at the beginning of my career nearly 17 years ago. The other one still works but the light is dim and so I was looking for a new battery when I came across this replacement. The fit and finish are not as nice as the one I bought back in 2003. But based on how long the other one lasted I have high hopes this one will be with me for years.

Needs a few tweaks, but all in all pretty good!
The key fits Smith & Wesson M&P 100 cuffs perfectly. I've read some reviews where people are saying that the swivel falls off easily when attached to a lanyard. I haven't had this problem because I just keep the key in my pocket. I did however, attached it to a keychain and yank on it really hard several time and it didn't detach. I figured I don't need that part anyways so if it comes off it comes off, but it didn't.The light is bright. I just wish it would point down on an angle just a little bit so that it would shine directly on the keyhole because right now the light is slightly above the key and when you get an inch away from the hole with the light it's not actually shining directly on the keyhole, it's shining slightly above or below it. It's still enough light to find the keyhole but a little more precision would be nice. They keyshaft itself could be another half inch or so longer also. Since the base of the key is so wide, it makes turning the key a little bit more difficult because normally there are hands in the way. Not a huge issue, but a little more length would alleviate that problem. All in all a good key, very useful. A few more tweaks would make this the perfect hand cuff key.

I love this cuff key as I have bought several of ...
I love this cuff key as I have bought several of them over the years. The only fault I find with the cuff key is the connection from the metal hook onto the metal sleeve which attaches onto the key. After a while on my belt it occasionally comes loose from the sleeve and once you lose the sleeve the cuff cannot be attached to the belt. U have to use pliers to tighten the hook onto the sleeve. Hence the reason I have bought several of them on the past. But after that a good cuff key
