Pioneer TS-W254R 10-Inch Component Subwoofer with 1100 Watts Max Power

Honestly when I bought this I wasn't expecting too much. Pioneer recommends a 1.23 cu ft box (for ported) but I ended up building a custom box out of 1/2 inch MDF board. I had an 8inch home theatre subwoofer before I bought this and, unfortunately, blew the voice coils on it so I got this one as a replacement. Now let me say.... THIS SUB BANGS. My box is twice as big as manufacturer recommends and I stuffed the inside of the box with polyfill. This sub is probably only getting around 100w rms and 180w for peak from my old home theatre amp and it still shakes my house. I have had many audio systems in my time (car and home theatre) and this is a good deal for the price. I have been known to be quite a basshead and love rap and hip-hop. This sub is able to hit all the low notes I need it to hit. My box is tuned at 30hz and this sub performs excellently. I plan on upgrading my amp so that my sub is getting the required rms wattage and it will probably sound even betterAll in all, this sub is a good buy. The sound quality is good and a bit on the boomy side of the bass spectrum. (Infinity subs are known for more tight/controlled and quieter bass). The cone appears to be very strong. I have tested it greatly over the past month and it still performs better than I expected. I can't wait to put this sub through hell and back!If you are looking for loud, deep, boomy bass then don't hesitate to purchase this. This is definitely the subwoofer for bass heads. If, on the other hand you are looking for quieter controlled bass then get an Infinity Reference subwoofer.Regards,A happy customer

I've had this subwoofer for approximately 8 months and am very pleased with its performance! I have it somewhat underpowered at 180 watts RMS, but this is more than enough to fill the cabin of my sedan with lots of clean, loud bass. It's added a richness to music that I couldn't imagined I lived without. I plan on buying another and pairing it with a 500 Watt RMS amp in the future because I am so very impressed! The high sensitivity rating makes this play much louder than other 10" subs in its price range. Great job pioneer, you have just earned yourself a life long customer. 5/5 stars, will definitely buy again

I installed the sub with a 200W RMS Rockford amp bridged adding to my 2012 fords stock system. I built the box using the recommended space as you should for my type of enclosure and WOW... I have had sound systems in every car I owned and shocked to this day how this came out. Great for the sad budget i put into it. I ran this sub now for four mouths and still sounds great. I would not go bigger on power and have my amp gain at 75% and crossover @50hz, which it plays nice! Anyone that does not like this speaker for the price does not know what they are doing. I have a JL I killed in my truck and will replace it with the Pioneer 12" no question.

I dont have a lot to compare this to except the POS unit that was in the car when I bought it. Running a 200 watts rms in a sealed enclosure. Sounds good but could probably handle a few more watts. I am happy, it really brought my budget system to life..The rest of the speakers are off the the head unit only so i really lacked low end. I discovered the key to getting bass in the cabin is not always more power but actually letting the trunk breath into the cabin.. I knocked out the ski pass through and it was great.Dont trap your bass in the trunk.

i have 4 of these subs in a ported box with 2 boss 3400 watt class d mono blocks slaved together with 2 boss 10 farad caps spent less then 700 on my set up including door speakers also pioneer and the amp to push them also a boss amp i matched the air space and made a tuned box match the amp to the subs rms value wise and managed to blow out my back window in a scion tc really impressed i was just trying to do a cheap bang for the buck getting the cheapest but best quality i could get and it worked ...... its gonna cost me more for the window then the system.....

Just as you would expect from Pioneer, it works great, sounds very good and the price is right. It provides the right amount of bass without overpowering the rest of the speakers. I installed it in the trunk of my 04 Mustang GT and I couldn't be happier. On the rare occasion that a rap type song plays on my Pandora account the bass really hits hard without upsetting the neighbors or fellow drivers at a stop light. I'm very impressed. I recommend getting the BOSS Audio R1100M Riot 1100-watts Monoblock Class A/B 1 Channel 2-8 Ohm Stable Amplifier with Remote Subwoofer Level Control. Awesome setup for the money.

So i got this sub because i have always. Eem a big fan of pioneer, this arrived in the mail fatser than i expected and i was really excited to put it in, i hooked it up and it sounded like it was blown when the bass first hits but afterwards it sounded fine, im trying to get another one now because other than that noise its a good sub

Bought this based on price and established quality brand. Made a custom down firing sealed box for it.2000 Toyota Tundra AC. Removed factory center console and replaced it with this box. Topped that with a nice finished cushion. Nice arm rest. I have it paired with a 1100 watt Boss Riot amplifier. Obviously, I went the inexpensive route on this system. Sounds very good. I'm totally impressed with the Pioneer subwoofer. If I had room, I'd have a pair of them. Had it for over a year with no problems.
