Good boot for the price, weak link is insole and lining.
The is the second pair of these boots I have purchased. The first purchased at a brick and mortar store in Davenport Iowa. The second from Amazon, so I knew exactly what size to get. In the vast majority of shoes I wear a 9 1/2 medium width, in some brands that bumps to a 10. In cases were there is only whole sizes I go 10. In winter boots with thick socks, 10...you get the point. For the Wolverines I purchased a 9 1/2 and they fit almost perfectly. Four stars for the following issues. Until you get them really broken in you can plainly feel the internal metatarsal plate rub the top of your foot. The tongue is also not very flexible, probably to keep the met guard in place, but it makes donning and doffing the boot a little more tricky. The last point leads to this one. After a few months of wear I pulled my foot out and the internal heel area of the boot and its liner came out. I tried all the things one does to make the boot last a little longer, glue, duct tape, silicon....etc nothing could be done.So why did I buy again? Simply for price. Some people like to buy a much more expensive boot and then take it to a cobbler for a resole and new foot beds. I have done that before and gave it up. You spend $200 on a boot, get 6 months to a year before repairs are needed then you pay a cobbler $35 for a resole, $20 for insoles and $5 for laces and you still have the same smelly old boot but with new gear. For less money I can buy 2 new pairs of boots. I use a system of 4 pairs of boots, I have two metguards when needed and two regular steel toes. Simply rotate through the week. The boots get time to dry and recover and my boots last YEARS this way. When one gets too ratty, dispose and replace. Yes I spend money on boots, but my feet are part of my job and my comfort at work is worth it to me. 4 pairs of boots $500- $600, never having sore feet, legs, hips, back issues or putting on swampy feeling boots in the morning....Priceless. It works well even with a 2 boot rotation, but I digress.....Brings us back to this boot. Amazon total with shipping $110. My first pair lasted well over two years in my rotation. I rarely work only eight hours and I am on my feet all day in a wide variety of places from construction sites, to factories. I would project that the boot would last about a year if I wore it daily. The weak link is the insoles and internal lining. When I tossed out that 1st pair the sole still had tons of life, the toe had not worn through despite lots of time kneeling and scuffing of the toe. The leather and stitching was still fully intact and I had replaced the laces only once. I had also replaced the insoles with a decent quality pair after the 1st year in rotation. So overall it was a great boot. I actually felt bad throwing it out, but as I said, there was no repairing the inner lining, and God knows I tried to eek out a few more months of service. So I do recommend it, especially if you need met guards at your workplace. They are comfortable after break in and the sole wears slowly. They are on the heavy side, but I'd expect that with the met guard and the thick long lasting sole. Do not buy for hiking or hunting!!! They are made in Bangladesh. I have never dropped heavy stuff on my toes, so I cannot speak to its protective abilities nor do I want to find out. I assume they will offer the advertised level of protection.

Comfortable, high quality work boot
I have worn the Wolverine McKay work boots for the last 12 years and they are very comfortable. I highly recommend them. Unfortunately the boot I ordered was shorter than what I was looking for. The boot I purchased was 6" high and I wanted an 8" high boot. This was not clear in the product description when I made my order. I returned the boot.

Great quality and exceptional comfort
My husband needed new boots for his job, but because we live in a very rural area, we have limited choices. His last pair were a bit cheaper (purchased the big box store), but the liner tore out pretty quickly and while they said they were waterproof, water seeped in through the sole. He was MISERABLE wearing them. Upon a recommendation from a coworker to try Wolverine, he found these on Amazon. We knew they fit the job requirements - but we were a little skiddish about buying shoes online since he's a bit hard to fit. When we saw the generous return policy, we ended up ordering two pair - one in a medium width and one a wide. He was able to try them on and determine which fit him better (the medium) just like shopping in a shoe store. We returned the other pair quickly and easily. We were immediately impressed by the construction and materials - and he said they felt great from day one. He has made the comment several times that they never needed to be "broken in"!He's on his feet for up to 16 hours a day between his job and working on the farm and is often in very wet conditions. He has been wearing these boots daily for over a month and RAVES about them quite often. He continues to tell me how comfortable they are and they stay dry in the wettest weather situations. He says he'll never buy another brand - and with the great service from Amazon, we never have to look for another source.

American made workboot - good looks with both comfort and protection
My work required me to obtain and wear metatarsal protected steel toed boots to a customer's manufacturing site. I have to admit that I was surprised to see some of the styles of metatarsal boots that are sold on the web. In many cases the metatarsal protection is afforded with the use of an odd-looking flap that folds over the laces. I wanted a traditional boot that would offer protection in a more subtle manner. Wolverine has name recognition in boot manufacturing and the presented image of the boot is exactly the boot that you will get. I found sizing to be right on the money and the provision of wide/extra wide sizes; this should make plenty of consumers happy. To break in the boot before taking it on site, I walked the dog through the neighborhood. While anew boot will always be initially stiff, this Wolverine boot maintains its comfortable and fit. The expected blisters never came. If you are going to buy a boot that you will have for a very long time you are going to want to buy one that looks this good and fits this well.

Nice boot, Great price
Great boot and great price. They are comfortable but not as comfortable as some review have said. I give it a 3.5 out of 5 for comfort, I work standing anywhere from 12 to 18 hours per days and some days longer. Now the problem that I found was that they don't breath at all, you feet will be sweet and your socks will soak it up. Perhaps better socks, less hours of work will bring the rating up for me to a 4 for comfort. They fit perfect!I will recommend it to a friend, however if you can find a shop around town that carry them then try them on and test drive them. They are built strong and look really nice with jeans.

Reasonable Product for a Reasonable Price
I range between a 10-1/2 and an 11. I ordered 10-1/2 and they fit a little big. They did include internal metatarsals, but I don't believe they are the flexible, impact resistant, rubber, that a lot of metguards have now.
