Remove the heatsink cover!
I tested this card with 2x970 EVO 2TB sticks in a RAID 0 configuration. My application is for providing a highly detailed set of scenery files to X-Plane in a VR configuration and I ran into problems right from the start. 5-15 minutes after starting the simulation I would experience stuttering - frames stopped being rendered and the sound would cut out. Tried everything - swapping cards to different PCIe slots, lots of software changes, nothing worked. Finally I removed the 7102 - that fixed everything, so I began to suspect some sort of thermal issue. Sure enough, when I took the heatsink cover off, the simulator went back to running as smooth as it had before. Upon closer inspection it is very clear that the tiny fan provides nowhere near enough airflow over the channels underneath the massive sink - and the scenario I was experiencing fit the design - the heatsink is probably absorbing some amount of heat but after a few minutes of intense activity it reaches its design maximum and starts transferring heat back to the SSD chips, causing thermal throttling issues. So will be running this card without the heatsink cover from now on.

Highpoint SSD7102 - Boot Windows 10 from NVMe
I have the Supermicro workstation board (X10DAI). There is NOT any support in the latest BIOS for booting NVMe devices and there are not any NVMe connectors on the motherboard. I contacted Supermicro support to confirm this.I didn't need RAID, I just wanted to boot Windows 10 Pro from NVMe and I wanted the speed of the using the PCIe bus rather than SATA bus which is much slower. So this card can hold up to 4 NVMe devices and would require a PCIe express x16 with a full 16 lanes to get full speed. So far I have two Samsung 970 Pros (512 GB) mounted and I am booting Windows 10 very quickly and the system runs great. This was exactly what I was looking for and it works great!

compatibility is so low and you will not find support anywhere...you wont even get instruction!!
base on many reviews i saw online I know this is the only bootable RAID NVMe card in the market for older PC and have a 12000 Crystaldisk mark score by far I was extremely impressed, what I didn't know was compatibility is so low it might not work for most, I'll list 3 different PC i've try each with different error message, yes I done my home work, all install latest chip set and latest bios still same problem i spend at least 20 hours on this junk...1. Dell XPS 5600 desktop - "share dog violation" thats what i saw after BSOD every 3-5 min2. DELL R620 windows 2012 R2 server - it die before you even make it to setup soon plug in I have "unable to train PCIe slot" access violation3. HP Proliant DL360 G6 - "Invalid checksum" error it does boot but wont even see the slothonestly if I can get this junk to work I might end up buying 3-5 more for every older server I have its amazing what it can do if its true...

Bootable NVME Raid on CrossHair 5 Formula-Z
This provided the ability to have a bootable Raid 0 Array from the Custom BIOS on this motherboard. Currently have 2 x Samsung 970 Pro 512GB drives setup as Raid 0 for my boot drive and 1 x 970 Pro 1TB for secondary storage all on the same expansion card. Windows boots quick, games load fast and all general purpose tasks are also fast. The Raid BIOS on the Raid Card doesn't have the typical "Press Ctrl R to enter Raid Setup". To setup Raid outside of Windows requires booting a USB flash drive to the EFI Shell with the correct files from the BIOS download from HighPoint in order to enter the commands to create the Raid array.
