Affordable and fits my Toshiba Sattelite
So after my dog chewed up my original laptop charger, I was in panic mode. The local stores (Best Buy, Micro Center, etc) carried universal chargers that cost around $40-$60. That price range seem a bit high for something universal and not branded. Also anyone with a teething puppy will tell you each penny counts when there's alot of stuff to replace...Long story short, I went on Amazon, and found this charger. It had good reviews and was much more affordable than anything else I came across. The charger does what it's supposed to do. The only thing to keep in mind before buying this product is that the cord itself is on the short side (much shorter than my original) but that's actually something I prefer since I hate tangled cords. I purchased mines from the seller ELECSPAN INC.UPDATE: After the first few weeks, I started to notice a problem. The charger has 3 different points that all need to be completely connected(wall outlet-middle adapter-computer port). If you don't make sure all connections are clicked and tight, it loses power. Over a few months, these connecting areas become loose from wear and tear, so keeping the entire thing connected starts becoming a chore. It's not one long piece that stays together from outlet to port like my original adapter. I must say, that with frequent use (3-5 hours/day), the charger has been decent for the price I paid. It's a cheap and quick replacement, but after 7 months, I need to buy another one.

Power Supply Charger
I bought this charger a little over 8 months ago. I own a Toshiba satellite laptop, not sure what model but it is close to 4 years old. The charger I had since I purchased the laptop started going out so I did some looking around for a replacement. I checked the Toshiba website and they were charging an arm and a leg for a new one. With my laptop as old as it was I didn't want to put much money into it in case it stopped working one day so I did some looking around. I came across this charger and was very surprised at the low cost. The cheapness had me slightly worried but I decided to give it a try. It has worked great ever since I received the item. My battery is so old it doesn't really hold a charge anymore so I just keep it plugged into the new charger 24/7. It's been going like that for probably 6 or 7 months and is still going strong. I'm very impressed with how it's lasted, especially with it running nearly constantly. It doesn't get a pretty warm sometimes but that is probably normal. From my experience I'd say it's a great alternative to purchasing from the manufacturer.

I bought this and then my computer broke.
After buying this, the hinge to my laptop broke. I had to get a new computer. I know that my computer breaking had nothing to do with this power cord, but I still think the coincidence is somewhat suspicious. Three months after buying this cord I just happen to drop my computer? That drop just happens to break my hinge? I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy, but it just seems too convenient.

Recommendation Approved!
Technology is something in which one may be different than the other. It's a roll of the dice. I bought an AC adapter power supply charger and cord before and it really overheated and it made this "wwweeeewwweee" noise when it was not plugged into my computer, but plugged into the wall. Anyways, this one is a lot better. Of course, it gets hot but it's not ridiculous hot and I learned to use as much as I can and then unplug it in fear that the cord would melt like my previous ones have. Like I said, it depends on the individual product.

Does what it advertises, but I have one major concern....
First and foremost, this charger does exactly what it advertises. It charges my Toshiba laptop. The reason for the 3-star rating is because this thing gets HOT!!!! I was using my laptop while being plugged into the charger, so it was pulling double duty, but when I picked the charger up, it was hot to the touch. My original charger got hot too, but nothing like this. I am a little concerned about ever walking away from the laptop while it is plugged in/charging. Another concern is that my original charger "brick" weighed almost twice as much, and delivered a higher amperage on the same voltage. As long as this charger continues to charge my laptop, I don't have any major issues with it. I would caution against leaving your laptop plugged in/charging when you are not at home with it, though.

Great product for a phenomenal price
This is a great replacement or supplement to the original power adapter for many Toshiba laptops. Props to Toshiba for a universal power plug! The power adapter is very similar to the original. It's cords are a bit shorter, but I use mine as permanent desk power supplies so that doesn't bother me. One bonus is the LED indicator. The OEM doesn't have that and it's a nice little feature. The supply does get a little warmer than the OEM, but not significantly so. It also seems to be better shielded, as it doesn't cause interference with my stereo (my OEM adapter causes a noticeable buzz in it).Buy it. In fact, buy two. I keep one at both my desks and leave the OEM adapter in the laptop bag. It makes moving my computer much easier.

Does What It Needs To
This laptop charger runs rather hot, almost to the point where it is too hot to touch. To combat this I unplug my laptop after it is fully charged. (Although my battery lasts only about 20 minutes.) The cord isn't very long so it is sometimes a hassle to find a good place to sit without employing the use of power strips or extension cords. The part of the cord that plugs into your laptop is like an elbow piece so it is easy to have the cord out of the way for the most part. All in all, this is a good replacement if you need something on a tight budget and you don't need a lot of cord length. This product being Prime eligible is a definite plus.

So far so good
Arrived nearly as described. It has a 90 degree bend at the connector not a straight as shown in the picture, but for me that is ok since the connector is what failed on the original. The Toshiba laptop charged up and I'm writing the review on it now. I didn't notice any heat on the brick. It is light and possible not as solid as the original. But a great value to get us running again.
