P'kolino Little Modern and Table Chairs

We purchased this table and chair set for our 2 year old. P'kolino did a wonderful job on the quality of the some of the materials. The design works very well with our modern home and the product is quite solid and sturdy but flawed in a few ways.The table legs and chair legs are made from plywood and I believe the white parts are painted mdf. Overall, these parts seem pretty strong and well made.The table top material is constructed from flimsy mdf and is divided into two parts. This is something I didn't notice in the pictures posted for the product. You can't really see the line indicating the two parts and this division causes the table surface to be quite uneven and bent. I will try to post some images of this. The table top also feels very weak and having an active toddler who is into climbing, standing and jumping on EVERYTHING poses a great risk of falling through the table. Yes, I said falling through the table because, not only is the table top material quite weak, there is NO bottom to this table. I loved the idea of the storage compartments within the table but was extremely disappointed to find that the storage compartments are not actually dividers sitting on a piece of plywood or mdf attached to the table. This whole area is made from some sort of synthetic fabric material that is attached to the table with Velcro!The interior storage compartments are made from a pretty toxic smelling material, which is disturbing in this day of environmentally conscious products. It has been about a week since we've had the table and it still smells awful.We purchased this table to encourage a sense of independence for our little guy but at this stage, I can't leave him alone at the table for fear of him climbing on it and falling through.I would have returned this product if my husband hadn't already built it and thrown away the box when I was gone. Two stars are given for the overall aesthetic and concept.I would encourage the company to make a version of this table that is made from one material; all plywood in a natural finish with a plywood bottom and top and non toxic materials. The table top should also be constructed in one piece in order to create a continuous smooth surface.We are planning to look into having this table top replaced by the manufacturer or perhaps trying to make our own from a piece of plywood.

Sturdy sensible table and chairs for grandson of 2 years and his sibling due soon. Ideal height for playing and drawing. He loves it./

My wife and I got this product as a gift for our daughter. The design is nice and it was easy to assemble, but we ended up getting rid of both the table and the chairs after just a few days because they literally reek. We think the toxic smell could come from the formaldehyde that is used in this product. Such a shame.

After only a few weeks of use, a lot of spots are showing signs of wear. Not really what I was expecting given the price tag. I'll stay away and go for cheaper options.

I have two problems with this product:First, at around $200 the build quality is miserable. The problems that another customer mentioned about the flimsy top are completely true. It goes beyond that though. Most pieces don't fit together very well leaving a bunch of gaps, there are exposed joints everywhere. Whenever you move the table around it just sounds hollow. I doubt it will last a year. Before coming here to write a review I was thinking "I'll give it 3 stars because of the packaging problem, and if it is more than $50 I'll knock another one off for poor quality." (Wife bought it, I put it together so I didn't know the price.) Then I show up and, holy smokes! $200? No way. If this thing came from Ikea it would be 25% the price and twice the quality.My real problem though was the packaging. Two of my four silica desiccant packages were cut open resulting in dozens and dozens of little beads of silica all over the floor. You know the packages I'm talking about; they're labeled "DO NOT EAT" in a few places. Which wouldn't be a problem if the customers purchasing this table didn't have curious little everything-goes-in-my-mouth machines running around.

Very sturdy and the perfect size. Versatile with reverse side blackboardOnly one issue with assembly with a stripped screw, otherwise assembly went well.

We bought these off their website. The quality was not worth the price tag. We had requested replacements parts straight off the purchase.One year on the legs of both the table and the chair are coming apart. The way the joints were designed were not practical, and do not take much of the usual wear and tear.

It is a beautiful set. I love the modern look and the storage space.

Cutest little modern table. Excellent quality, easy to build. My 4 and 1 year old love it. I was looking for a table with storage but was also stylish. This was perfect! Fast shipping too!
