I was considering the Bose SoundTouch 300 sound bar with the Bose Subwoofer, which are sold separately and run about $1,000. In reading reviews about the HK SB26 I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality and volume. The stereo quality isn't quite as good as having a high end AVR receiver with separate speakers but more than good enough for my needs in this particular room. Since this is a powered soundbar and subwoofer system, you can save extra $$ by not buying an AV receiver. My setup includes a Samsung 75" 4K TV, Amazon Fire TV, and DirecTV HD DVR. All devices connect back to HDMI ports on the HK SB26 soundbar without the need for a receiver. For convenience and great bang for the buck, I would highly recommend this system.

Excellent Soundbar!
Bought the SB26 for my living room which is large and shaped like an octagon. The unit is plenty powerful and provides an experience which is comparable to higher priced home theater systems.I mounted the unit directly beneath my wall mounted LED TV and use the optical feed from my TV to source the SB26. The unit performs flawlessly this way. I have placed the sub roughly 25 ft from the soundbar and the lows are amazing.Music from my turntable is crisp and clear. Music streaming via bluetooth is superb. This unit is quality built and a phenomenal addition to any home theater. If you are in the market for a soundbar, this is the one. It is easily on the same level as the Bose soundbar but a lot cheaper.

Very good sound quality but still some issues with software functionality
Hi I am using this soundbar from Oct 2016, almost 18 months. It is a great soundbar with excellent sound quality without any doubt. It performs better in a larger room. The voice from news or movie is pretty clear, beats are awesome. The build quality is very good. The front metal grill is a big advantage to protect the speakers. I also faced some issues therefore, I gave it 3 stars instead of 5.The Bluetooth is always visible to other Bluetooth enabled devices. So anyone can play music on your device at 1 AM in the morning. It happened to me several times by my neighbor. There is no code to connect to the soundbar. The SB26 Bluetooth is always visible which kills your privacy. It failed to sync the vol through my SONY TV remote. The remote sometimes works sometimes does not. It does not have any display screen to see which input is active like HDMI 1, HDMI 2, TV or Bluetooth. You always need the TV on to see its current status by its On Screen Display (OSD) feature. If the SOundbar is not connected through the ARC (audio return channel) it will not OSD the vol level. it will just show vol+ and vol- when I change the volume.Overal, I love it because of its sound quality. If I get a chance I will not buy it again because of those problems.

This product is actually amazing. the sound is imaculate however the remote sucks
This product is actually amazing. the sound is imaculate however the remote sucks! You literally had to be within 5 feet of the unit to work. Needless to say it was returned I got the upgraded version and its night and day better. Figured that the sound was so good that ill give it one more try. If your in the market for 600 or more id recommend the upgrade. if not this one is great just beware of the remote issue. Also this one came with a 10 " sub and it says it comes with an 8".The upgraded version comes with an 8" i called in to get an upgraded 10 or 12" sub but the company says they do not make that. Which i find ludacris however if you get over the bigger is better thing and let the 8 do its job it truly does sound great. Way I figure is that im never going to play this thing as loud as it can go and the 8" hits extremely low and rattles the windows as is.Sooo create your own judgment on this but excellent product by and by....

Best audio experience on a soundbar is still by HK
It's expensive for a soundbar but the effect is truly delicious. The Good: virtual surround sound is quite convincing. Wireless sub adds a ton of depth to the overall effect. Mounting is a breeze. Sounds great with music as well as television. Excellent equalization & clarity. The Bad: Sound bar doesn't remember settings, so virtual surround has to be turned on every time. You ABSOLUTELY MUST update the firmware when it arrives. This is a process that involves putting a file on a USB stick, holding down two buttons at the same time, then applying the update with a bit of HDMI screen feedback. It's not hard but it's not user friendly either. Neglect to do this and your bar goes from mute to LOUD on the first volume click. The slightly irritating: Power to bar uses a brick, which isn't mountable and has a fairly short cable. That can be awkward if you mount the thing on a wall... where does the power brick go? Double sided 3M stickys are your friends. Instructions make Ikea seem talkative.Good value. Remember the sub should be fairly near a soundbar or you'll get a source separation problem. It's virtual surround, there aren't actual satellites out there to cover the direction of the base. As usual, the correct phase setting is the one that produces the best bass sound, and it depends entirely on the room you're set up in. Flip it back and forth with a friend. If you've got a few extra Franklins burning a hole in your pocket, spring for the SB35. That soundbar is a work of art. If you're on a budget, the SB16 looks nearly identical but this one is clearly a step up.Overall, this is teh best
