Alen T500 Air Purifier, Quiet Air Flow for Large Rooms, 500 SqFt, Portable Air Cleaner for Allergens, Dust, Pollen, Pet Dander, in Black

I purchased this for the master bedroom to supplement a large Alen unit that I use in the living/dining/ kitchen area and a third Alen unit for another smaller bedroom. I purchased this unit based on it's rating for a room size that matches the master bedroom. I only run the unit from the time we get up until bedtime so do not use the sleep mode. It works well and is relatively quiet. Since adding it ( and the other Alen units) to the house, we have noticed a significant improvement in air quality and reduction in dust and airborne cat dander and hair. Although purchasing all the units wasn't cheap, we have been impressed with the effectiveness of the units in improving air quality in the house and feel the expense was money well spent.

Runs very quiet. You get so used to it you don't even know it's running. I thought it was about $50+ too much, but I did not want a cheap one either. It seems to clear the air fairly well, and the home does smell a bit fresher. The replacement filters (I think) are way to expensive, they are 1/3 the cost of the entire unit. They say they last for 9 months, but after a month of use (winter time), I can't see them working for 9 months? With that said, you can find cheaper ones out there, but you get what you pay for? Like everything else nowadays, the quality is going down and the price is going up. Would I buy it again? I think I would, but time will tell me for sure.

I wrote the most glowing review I think I've ever posted on the first Alen BreatheSmart Classic unit I bought 2 yrs ago for my main living area. To get that unit and 3 additional filters took a grand out of the pocket. But up here in PNW the wild fires during summers are just fact of life, now and bother my asthma so bad now. I'd bought 3 less powerful/expensive brands in previous years that just weren't cutting it. So I bit the bullet. And, that one has more than paid for itself. With regular vacuuming clear the prefilter I've gotten a year out of each filter. - I bought this smaller T500 model to go in my office space which is at far end from the main area and away from the Classic unit. Going to agree with some reviews I've seen for this one - yes, it is louder than the larger unit, yes it seems to blow out cool air. But, I'll take a bit of noise with something that WORKS beautifully any day. And, I can set this away from ever directing the air at me when working, so that's a non issue for me. I am just tickled pleased knowing these 'investments' in keeping clean air in my home are doing the job and not just taking real estate in the room. All thumbs up. It is a winner.

I did not have a lot of time to do research on purifiers, but thought most of the reviews for this model fit our needs. I am having interior painting done and needed help with the air quality in my house. I am using this for my den/kitchen area which open into the rest of the house. I definitely can tell a difference in this area of my house where I am not painting but still have paint odor. I also have 2 dogs and it seems the air is better when they are in the room, too. I will wait 2 months before I order another one for the master bedroom/bath. Also, it is a good size and not loud.

I had some flooding and a slight musty smell remaining in house. Bought this and it took care of it in a couple of hours. Best air purifier I have ever had. I let it run round the clock and the house smells fresh. The only thing is that is puts out a lot of cool air, which is ok, I just position it differently if needed. Well worth it!

This product is as advertised and has assisted with providing much better air quality and somehow assisted with the humidity issue in my apartment. This was an investment in my health and has improved my quality of air (and life).

I was skeptical at first about having an air purifier. However, I recently moved in to a new apartment that doesn't have good air circulation and gets really dusty if I leave my sliding glass door open. I also have a yellow lab. So, with the combination of dusty, poor air circulation, and pet dander the air quality can really suffer. After reading many many many reviews I decided to purchase this device since it states it will cover 500 sq ft. My thoughts so far.Size/look: It's a very good small compact size. This is great because finding a place for it wasn't a problem. The look of it is nice because it just looks like a mini tower fan.Claim on 500 sq ft:The manual does claim it will do cover 500 sq ft on HIGH. It states 300 sq ft on medium and finally 150 Sq ft on low. That being said many people have complained about the noise. I found reviews that this does put out more db than other purifiers in it's class. However, even on high the noise doesn't bother me. For me it make just a little, if not the same, amount of noise as a tower fan. I don't have to turn my TV up any louder than normal (I do have a home theater system. Don't know if that would make much difference if I didn't have one). I also don't have it placed right next to my TV/couch. It's place in between the kitchen and living room.Setup: Took more time to take out of box than to setup. Really easy.Test: I closed all the windows to my bedroom and turned this on HIGH then closed the door. I found that in the mornings it's the most stuffy feeling in there. I came back an hour or two later and noticed a significant difference in air from before and from the living room. I now have it in my living room and will leave it there for a few days. I will write an update.

We purchased this to help with our allergies and we loved how many square feet it covered vs some of the other filters. We loved the different filters you can purchase so you can truly customize the filter for what you need. It’s smaller than expected but we love how quite it is and how easy it is to work. The filters seem to last a long time, theres a light on the too that lets you know when its time to replace it. And holy cow is it silent. You don’t hear anything! We really like this air filter and plan to buy a few more in the future for the other rooms in the house.
