PREMIER SEEDS DIRECT TOMATO - MOSKVICH - 50 FINEST SEEDS
D**E
Mid June 2013
Having come across these Moskvich Tomatoes from Premier Seed I was intrigued to find out how they would preform. Having been warned by Premier Seed that there was no information on the plants disease resistant I was undeterred and sowed the seed in heat 14/2/13 germination was excellent and I finally potted on 12 plants. I like to use a very strong compost, I always make my own, and use a 4" pot which gives me considerable leeway should weather conditions not become suitable when the plants are ready to plant out in an unheated greenhouse, and helps to avoid plants becoming too hungry, my experience is that rapip and well grown plants crop just as soon as those in depleted 3" pot and over the season produce a larger crop. I had 2 sickly plants both immediately removed and 10 were more than enough for my purpose. So disease resistance could be an issue but as of today, June 17th all other plants are growing strongly. Plants are now 5 feet tall and trusses are formed very closely together, indicative of a heavy cropping plant. The fruit is of a very good size and it will not be long now before they will be starting to ripen. The tast is the final deciding factor right now, as all other aspect of the Moskvich indicate a plant well worth growing even if there are a few losses on the way which can be easily accommodated by sowing a few extra plants. I'll be back.
