Product Description HAVING ALREADY HAD PRIOR SONGS ON THE SOUNDTRACKS FOR "MEAN GIRLS" AND "THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2," LINDSAY LOHAN'S DEBUT ALBUM HITS THE STREETS ON DECEMBER 7TH FOR THE 2004 HOLIDAY SEASON. .com Lindsay Lohan leaps into her much anticipated debut CD with a blast of something that simulates warmed-over Led Zeppelin (the lyrically ferocious "First") and from there finesses it into a stylish experiment in pounding away at teen pop's predictability. Influences--not all of whom her 8-to-14-year-old fans will flip to, or even find, in their pinup mags--loom large: While the Ashlee Simpson-like rocker "Nobody 'Til You" winds into the Jessica Simpson-y "Symptoms of You," the lovelorn "Something I Never Had," taps a sweetly unself-conscious vocal vein that owes gratitude to the otherwise highly un-Lohan-like Lisa Loeb. Though Lohan might balk at the comparison--she is, after all, the "Ultimate"-spawning original teenage drama queen--fellow tween queen Hilary Duff's stamp is pressed firmly into stormy self-explorers like "Disconnected" and "Anything But Me." Where "Speak" intones loudest, though, is in its least-rocking, most beat-propelled songs: The title track dips and bounces tantalizingly, begging hands-in-the-air listeners to "c'mon and let it out"; "To Know Your Name" digitizes a sexy hip-hop inflected dance number; and "Rumors," a J. Lo-like thumper (and one in a trifecta of pouts over the pitfalls of stardom) ends this disc on a don't-stop, bound-for-diva-dom note. -Tammy La Gorce P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); About the Artist In 2003, Lindsay starred in Disneys remake of Freaky Friday, a role that was originated by Jodie Foster. Nice To Meet You... You're It... YOU'RE THE ULTIMATE, YOU!
I am one of those unlucky people, who grew up without Disney Channel or Lindsay Lohan appearences. I live in Turkey and since the day Thomas Mottola took over CASABLANCA, I weren't aware of somebody named Linsay Lohan.I need to be honest, my interest for Lohan was just because Mottola never failed with his artists for a long time. Mariah, Jessica Simspson, Destiny's Child, Shakira... And, all of them turned out to be smart pop icons on their own. They expressed their music nicely, and they were quite striking.I tried to hear from Lohan for a long time but all I got was "Rumors". Which at first I said "Britney wannabe?"; then when I learned that it was Lohan singing it I forced to "like" it.Yet, Universal liscencee in Turkey was closed and this disc wasn't released in here. I bought it from Amazon and listened to it...Now I understood why "Rumors" got me 'dizzy'; 'coz Lindsay Lohan had a style which couldn't be provided by Cory Rooney or J.Lo crew. Then I got to see "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen", "Freeky Friday" and "Mean Girls". And, I came to a solution that Lindsay Lohan is pure AMERICAN! Real AMERICAN teenage musician. Songs in the movies like "Move On", "Ultimate", "I Decide"... made me understand the fact that Lindsay Lohan couldn't be over-produced by some crews. "Rumors" is a mistake, yet not to cry after.Kara DioGuari and persons worked for Lindsay Lohan made it highly TO THE POINT songs. I adore them. All could get a high 95/100 from me.OVER is my fav-tune since the CD arrived. I am not a rock listener that much; my style could be said to be R&B/Latin. I don't dive to pop waters that much.SPEAK is an AA album. The only thing that is LACKING in this album is the Lohan movie tracks. I'd die to have all in a DEBUT album. That would be offering and classy.I highly recommend SPEAK and Ashlee Simpson's AUTOBIOGRAPHY at the same time. Though they are friends, though they only have a little chart rivalry; These both albums are RIGHT head to toe. Consider it as a double disc.I got locked to a name Kara DioGuari when I checked the lyrics. They are real GOOD!Good! You gotta have it. Can't miss it.Hope Lohan keeps her style of music this way. 'Coz "Rumors" is not Lohan herself. It's just the "Drama Queen" pretending as if she hadn't got a style...This is truly American Art. And, I loved it!

Lindsay Speaks
I have always been a Lindsay Lohan fan since I saw her on Freaky Friday. I have always liked her songs she has done for the different movies she has been in so I have been waiting for this album for a few years now and it was well worth the wait!Lindsay mixes pop, rock, and dance music all in one on this album and it works! I was kind of nervous when I heard it was going to be a mix of pop and dance and rock but I was quite pleased with the results. Her album has a mix of Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, and Vanessa Carlton and then some. My favorite songs are Symptoms of You, Speak, Over, and Rumors. But there really isn't a song I don't like on it.I would recommend this album to anyone who also likes Avril, Britney, Ashlee Simpson, and Vanessa Carlton.

6 stars if possible
This is one of the best "bubblegum music" type cd's there is, and it is also a great revealing of Lindsay's singing ability. Listen to this cd a few times and learn a couple of the songs, then you'll be stupefied on why someone who is such a great singer had to strip naked to get attention. I love this cd and find it great background music during foreplay, lol. Really, this album is one of my favorite top 10 albums of all time, my favorite of hers.

Product wasn't in a perfect condition
Case was broken, but at least the CD was intact, as well as the booklet.

Catchy? Yes! Original? No..
So I must admit, I like this album. Lindsay Lohan's first album "speak" is one of those catchy song albums with forgetable tracks. She has an ok voice, but thats it everything is just ok... It's just an album that targets people who know who Lindsay Lohan is, It's rocky.. poppy and not at all wow material. Songs like disconnected and very last moment in time, sounds generic. Its just beats while Lindsay just speaks throughout a song. Kinda like Hilary Duff, But just because you have catchy songs (Over,Rumors) Does not at all mean your a good singer or a singer at all. But now in this point in time everyone seems to be able to sing and get a record out and sell Hundreds. I still like this album even though its not at all great, just something to drown the noise out around me. I give this album 3 stars, Songs like Rumors, symptons Of you and Over are worth a listen.
