GE PFE28KSKSS freezers, Stainless Steel

Spent nearly $8,000 on new GE appliances. Ordering and delivery was ok. The piece of junk broke withing 2 weeks of installation. The freezer quit working so we called GE customer care 3 times. Spent probably 1/2 hour on the phone for them to tell me there's no service person in the area they can dispatch. I found out the first person they lined up for the repair declined because he was buried - probably because GE products are terrible anymore. Look at their stock price which is also terrible. Guessing they can't afford to design reliable products or stand behind the junk they're selling.The great news is that customer care told me it could take up to 72 hours for them to respond with even a plan! Seriously? Brand new stuff and you can't even give me a plan? I hate GE products and told my wife to never buy them again.Service person showed up after a week. The fridge had leaked freon. We lost all the food product of course and I asked GE to replace this. They would not and said our only option was to fix it leaving us fridge-less for at least another week. Even better, we were told that because it had run dry on freon that the compressor should be expected to burn up next. GE has terrible product and even worse customer support.

Great fridge! very roomy. if you buy it do get the second ice maker. otherwise, if you use ice in your drinks you will run out. it is a little loud, but not overly. I am very happy with it overall

So if you're wondering like I sometimes do....you can 100% believe the reviews that are here....this company is completely worthless. Very expensive lesson learned....here's some of our experience w/ GE...the refrigerator is terrible. I have never used a refrigerator so loud in my life....when you open and close the doors they slam heavily, no way to quietly close. The cheese drawer sounds exactly like a turkey call every time it's opened and closed. The ice maker has no sensor that stops it making ice when full so the ice is constantly going everywhere, including behind the freezer drawer...husband has to clean soooo much ice out regularly. It's just such a piece of junk and was so expensive...such a disappointment. You cannot write these reviews on the GE website, they won't allow any bad ones....extremely unethical! The upside (I guess) is that no one can sneak into the fridge anymore! It is called out for anyone around to plainly hear anytime the doors are opened!We purchased $5k of high-end GE appliances for our remodeled kitchen. The dishwasher silverware basket has been broken since install - had holes in the bottom where silverware has annoying fallen through every day since we installed it nine months ago. I registered it with the provided card at install. After NINE MONTHS of dealing with their manufacturer defect and slip of quality control, I am finally taking the time to call, and they will not send me a new basket! UNBELIEVEABLE! I am looking at my online profile where I registered it and it says the warranty is still good - they claim they don't go by that....then WHAT is the point of registering it?! GE I have now learned is just another company that cares nothing about customer experience and is happy to lose a customer buying five grand of appliances at a time over a $50 dishwasher basket. The customer just wants to feel valued! I'm disgusted! Lesson learned. Oh, and one more thing.....several months ago I got an email from them inviting a review. I wrote an honest and mostly positive review that also included a few negatives...THEY WOULD NOT PUBLISH IT!! I was shocked. I went to the website and saw nothing but glowing 5 star reviews, not a negative in sight. SO BEWARE of trusting the reviews on their site - they are filtered! Horrible, unethical company!!

First off, I didn't actually buy this unit from Amazon, we bought from an independent local dealer. We are pleased with its appearance, features, performance and spaciousness, but we are very disappointed with how noisy it is. This refrigerator replaced a 2001 Kenmore and that one was actually quieter than the brand new GE. When you pay this much for a refrigerator you expect it to be as quiet as a mouse, this refrigerator sounds like a small airplane getting ready for take off. The noise seems to be coming from the evaporator fan(s) for the refrigerator section, as opposed to the freezer section, and a little more in depth online research will tell you that GE has been having issues with these fans for various reasons for quite a while. They obviously haven't solve the issue yet, which is disappointing when you pay this much for a fridge. If you're at all sensitive to appliance noise, steer clear of this one.

General Review of General Electric Profile Refrigerators. BEWARE of Warranty. You pay the big bucks to have an intelligent water dispensing and ice dispensing system. They claim the refrigerators are warrantied for years. FINE PRINT WARNING: It doesn't cover the electronics of the refrigerator. I've barely had mine 2 years and the electronics have failed causing the ice dispenser and water dispenser to completely cease operation. Cost to repair: approx $600 and their repair department doesn't even stock the parts (probably because people end up throwing their broken Refrigerator in the dumpster or live with a crippled appliance). And to add insult to injury it takes two repair orders to fix the issue. Also of nuisance is the "Cookie Monster" Ice dispenser (when it works at all) that even with a perfectly positioned glass seems to find a way to serve ice to the floor, especially if it's crushed. Beautiful appliance when it works but unreliable, expensive to maintain, and improperly engineered. Visually appealing appliance that is a piece of American trash. IMHO. This appliance probably deserves a 2, However, I'm giving it a 1 due to unethical business practices and deceptive Warranties.
