Equally annoying as it is useful
Like all the Blackrapid products I've tried, the Joey 3 is well-made out of quality materials. I have the RS-7 strap, and thought it would be helpful to have some extra storage for batteries and memory cards. The Joey 3 is big enough to fit several of those and more easily, but with one crucial flaw: once you put stuff inside of it, it makes the strap so heavy that it will slide off your shoulder when you lift your camera to your face. This happened so often that I was forced to remove it from the strap 10 minutes into shooting a wedding. I probably won't be putting it back on unless I pick up the extra strap attachment that goes under your arm.Fortunately, the straps on the back of the Joey 3 seem fairly versatile, so I might be able to attach it to my belt or camera bag instead.

Good quality, but not happy
The Good: The quality, craftsmanship, and materials. The Not So Good:1. Causes my Black Rapid strap to shift position way too much, to the point that I've taken it off the strap and stopped using it entirely. It's just so awkward that it makes the strap uncomfortable.2. There's too much material comprising this thing and not enough actual storage space. I wasn't trying to store a ton of stuff in it either. I wanted to store an extra memory card, battery, and shutter release, and just those three small items really push the limits of this case.Bottom line: If I had it to over again, I'd skip this purchase and see if I can find something else that works better for me and more comfortably stores the 3 items I mentioned above.

Great options, not greatest value
I am using this in conjunciton with my RS-7 strap for my 60D. It easily holds a spare battery and a couple memory cards. It stays on the strap securely and doesn't seem to add any noticeable bulk or get in the way when the strap slides out of position. My personal preference for cell phones is 4"+ screen size so this is tight for those, especially since you'll probably want that spare battery in there. At $15-$18 I would have given 5-star still, but at over $20 it lacks the value for that last star.If know you are going to buy a Joey and are just considering which one and your only concern is with adding weight/bulk I would just get the J3, it's barely noticeable on there and you get the extra space.

Small but carries ALOT
Nice smallish bag for your extra batteries, memory cards and cleaning cloth. You can stuff a lot into this bag, designed to attach to the Black Rapid strap. I fit 3 Canon batteries, 6 CF cards, 1 cleaning cloth, 1 cleaning brush/pen, and 1 AA battery easily. While I don't use it attached to the strap, I find it is really handy and small to grab all you need and your camera and go!

1/2" Would help
This product is well made. I purchased it to hold extra batteries, my phone, and card case on a dual strap harness. The phone (htc-1 in an otterbox), batteries (in trays for DB-D10 /12 on Nikon D700 and 800) and Pelican 6 slot CF- Card Case, are all about 1/4" too big for the Joey. It is a useful way of securing gear. I'll have to look and see whether they make a slightly taller version that would be more useful.

Too Big, be careful!
With two D700 batteries, two CF cards, and some business cards I had to keep throwing it over my shoulder when I brought the camera up to my eye. With the camera to your side, it keeps the Joey 3 where it needs to be, but when the camera moves to your face, the weight of its contents is suddenly drawn to the Earth. I will continue to use it, but as a belt attachment instead.

it has good build quality
As with other BlackRapid products, it has good build quality. I assumed I could carry a filter and some memory cards, but it is too tight for filters and makes it cumbersome to use with filters (both 58mm and 72mm). I currently use it for carrying memory cards and some a lens cleaning pen and an extra battery (when required).

Convenient addition to my DR2-Slim
I purchased this as an add-on to my DR2-Slim Blackrapid strap. The Joey3, in comparison to the Joey1 and Joey2, is much more convenient in so many ways.1) It uses a zip function compared to the velcro used by both the J1 and J2 (event photographers will not need to worry about the sound that the velcro makes)2) There are compartments inside the pouch for memory cards and batteries, on top of the main compartment for the phone.3) It attaches super easily to my Blackrapid strap, and at the same time, providing you with the added space for your small items. Now I have everything I need all in one strap - convenient solution.

Looks good, but interferes with performance of BR strap
This is a nicely made item, and would work for holding a few cards -- credit and/or memory -- but I found that it interfered with the operation of the Black Rapid RS7 strap that I have. Even when the Joey 3 was empty the weight increased the movement of the strap, so it was constantly moving out of position on my shoulder. I was having to reposition the strap to the all the time. I have removed the Joey 3 from the strap.I can't recommend this item.

Bit fiddly
Although the dimensions are clear enough in the description, it feels smaller than it is and because it doesn't fully open it is a bit fiddly putting things in and getting them out again. Personally I wouldn't use it for my phone because it will have stopped ringing by the time I extract it, but handy for hanging on the Black Rapid strap for smaller things that you don't need to access in a hurry.

Not enough depth.
Build quality seems good. Hight and width are about what I was expecting. However the depth of the internal space is quite small. I would not be able to get two batteries and CF memory cards into it and my car keys are a very tight fit by them selves. Another 5 - 10mm would have been ideal. Also found them hard to fit to the DR1 double strap.

Good concept, but not compatible with all BR straps
A very useful accessory, but it is not compatible with all BR sling straps. I had to purchase the RS-7 in order to use it. It slides on to the shoulder part of the strap & secures in place. It can hold spare batteries, memory cards etc. Multiple Joeys can be attached to each other on the strap.

Joey 3,The ideal accessory
I use a BlackRapid RS7 strap system on my DSLr, I wanted a small pouch for a couple of spare batteries, for a while I used a crumpler pp-55, then I saw the joey 3, after I took delivery I knew it was ideal, holds 2 Canon lp-e6 batteries plus a couple of CF memory cards, very pleased with this item, plus it looks nice too.
