The 70's are here once more!! Great for your 110 Instamatic shots!!
I have been searching for a reasonably-priced solution to scanning my old 110 negatives. I finally found it with this! I mean, I was like the neighborhood photographer. But, I was cheap, still am, and I used cheap 110 film and a Kokak 10 (the cheapest model they produced at the time). I loved it. I took B/W and color. B/W was cheaper to develop back then, so I took lots of that. I still have all the photos, but they are fading with time. Hardly anyone makes a scanner that includes ability to scan 110. Canon does, but I think those are almost pro and very expensive. I love my past, but dang. So, I bought this hoping it would do the job. It is not professional, but I am/was a snapshot guy, who needs pro quality. I actually like the software. It is really easy, I am no computer dude. It does take time, you have to have time to scan and adjust the photos, but it is easy. I love the portability of the unit. Charge up the battery and take it to your bed and scan as you watch Family Guy or King of the Hill. I love it. I have already scanned over 1000 negatives in only two days. It is additive, just to warn you. I remember every shot from my past. Be warned if you haven't seen your pics in a while, it will implant a smile on your face. I have uploaded a few of the shots on Facebook and my old high school buds are getting a kick out of them. Buy it, scan them, and enjoy the memories. Love it. Thanks Veho.

Easy to use standalone device without needing to be attached to a computer
I've tried a few different slide scanners lately. The public library flatbed scanner device was v fiddly and slow, and gave poor results. I borrowed a friend's 3-year-old Aldi slide scanner, but had trouble interfacing with my PC. I bought my own Aldi device last week but the slide feeder entailed pushing a stack of slides one by one into the viewing area, and they got jammed. I returned it.Then I visited a friend who had the Veho Smartfix VFS-008. By far the best results, so I ordered one for myself.A standalone device using lithium battery and SD card. You don't even need to use the software disk supplied, if you have your own editing program eg Picasa or Photoshop. My slide tray opened much more easily than my friend's older trays, using a thumbnail and employing tiny magnets to close the tray, rather than clipping the tray together.I haven't tried scanning any negative film strips. The photos can be a little dark round an edge or two, and they don't display as perfectly as you would see them in a hand-held slide viewer. But overall it is easily the best slide scanner I've tried for amateur purposes.
