Breville Panini Grill - BGR420XL

Works great and does a great job when you want a quick panini or grill fish or meat. Easy to clean and store. This is a more expensive replacement from an older model that quit heating after 5 years of use. Hopefully, this one will stay operational for a longer period of time.

I had one for many years and was delighted to find a new one.

Does not have and on & off switch

This is an 1800 watt grill, gets hotter than other grills I've had, so it cooks the food very quickly. It is easy to clean and store. I liked the grill very much. I purchased the first one on Ebay, so it didn't come with a warranty. The grill worked for about six months and quit, but I liked it so much, I bought another one off of Amazon from Hug the Cook brand new with a warranty. Well, this one worked for about 3 months and quit, so I contacted the company by telephone on the back of the operating manual and talked to a lady named Mayra who told me to FAX certain information and they through Fedex would send me a shipping label. I would return the bum grill and they would give me a new grill. That was in August, 2008, and to yet I have not received the shipping label. I have made other calls, sent more FAXes (4) and talked to other service people who have all made promises but no results. The bum grills continues to set under my credenza at my office and I continue to fume. In conclusion, DO NOT purchase a Breville product. They are more expensive than most, so you think you get what you pay for. WRONG. You are buying an expensive piece of crap. To make matters worse, they have terrible warranty service. I honestly don't know why they don't follow through with their promises but they don't. SO DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.

I really like the features of this Panini Grill. The non-stick surface is a game changer, it makes grilling pleasurable. No more frustrating moments of food sticking to the grill! It ensures easy cooking and even easier clean-ups. A thumbs up from me!

Great thing to have in your kitchen...we use it at least 2 to 3 times a week. I just wish it had an on and off button.

Fantastic product, excellent quality!

I am writing this review to counter the negative ones apparently competitors have posted. My experience has been excellent. I'll start with Breville BGR420XL's design which obviously looks great on the counter or stove-top. What I didn't realize was how it can stand and conserve space in its bottom cabinet. It grills superbly with its efficient plate height adjustments. Its grease drawer catches all the grease. Ok, now let's refute those who say the plates come loose or won't easily secure. Its two plates easily secure firmly and release just as easily to allow soaking. I am extremely pleased with my Breville grill, but I would recommend finding it on a good sale since retail, it might run above some budgets.
