Super Sturdy & Comfy - Holds over 500lbs
I am pregnant and I have been contemplating this purchase for months. I had a junky bench from Goodwill on my porch and didn't know if I should try to replace it with a Hammock. HOLY MOLY am I glad I did!!!! My bf and I were able to sleep side by side in it with my 4 year old. Keep in mind, combined we are all three over 500 lbs. This hammock is so comfortable and amazing. Easy to assemble - I had it up in minutes... at night.... in the dark... while pregnant... with no help... So no excuses to anyone complaining how hard it is to assemble, they just got too lazy to read directions. I fell asleep in it last night while star gazing... I am so happy. I will be chilling in my hammock every night this summer and rocking my babies to sleep in it during the winter. :D Update: Still using the hammock almost daily. My whole family fits in it. My partner is over 300lbs and I am 250lbs. I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old. We have now moved 4 times since I wrote this review. It's been 2 years. No rips,, no tears,, easy to put away and put up. Stronger than a pack mule. And I can tell you, I do not in any way regret this purchase. I want to buy more. Best $100 I've ever spent hands down. This hammock goes on my "if I were stranded...." list easily. Don't hesitate. Buy the d@mn hammock.

I really like this hammock!
I bought the first hammock because of Cami Meegan’s review. I had not used a hammock in decades but hoped that it would help with back aches and joint pains. It does, to a certain extent. After doing my own web research and reading hundreds of reviews of this and other products, I realized that I had bought the best one for my purposes. I use it inside, although I can’t leave it up permanently. Putting the frame together more than a few times made me appreciate its strength and ease of assembly. I ended up buying four hammocks and realized that there was some slight variability in how well the frame pieces fit, so you might try Cami’s WD40 tip if needed. Since there are several types of hammock, some customer complaints seem to be due to choosing this Brazilian style rather than one of the others. Many people did not like the “taco” feeling. I found that the double size let me lie comfortably in different ways, including the recommended way at a slight diagonal. Since I always seem to fall into a recuperative sleep in my hammock whether I intend to or not, it could be in any position which was comfortable at the time. Hammock users have suggested various sorts of covers and liners. I use a thin, soft foam yoga mat and found that it really added to the comfort. One person used a body pillow, which I also tried and compared, but it was too much padding. I haven’t tried the sleeping bag option that many people use for cooler outdoor sleeping, but that seems like a good idea to me. I also use a firmly stuffed rectangular pillow for my head and have had no neck or shoulder aches. A second one under the knees provides that kind of support if needed. A tip that I discovered and haven’t seen elsewhere is to use a trekking pole collapsed to its shortest length as a way to swing the hammock. I usually hold it in my right hand at the edge of the hammock and vertically to the floor. Push straight down strongly. You may have to shift the angle somewhat before you get the hammock to start swinging, but you can really create momentum. With the edge of the hammock supporting your hand, it only takes a slight wrist movement and two fingers to keep it rocking. Or you can use the wrist strap. Must be some law of physics that causes this to happen. From the comments I've read, Vivere really backs up their product and handles any questions a customer might have. So I bought their hammocks with confidence. It’s taken some practice to be able to get in and out of this hammock gracefully, at my age. I haven’t used a hammock to replace a flat mattress and bed but would definitely consider it. It’s great to have the option of extra sleeping accommodation in such a fun package! Additional comments: Six months after writing this review, I am still happily swinging in my Vivere hammocks. There is a lot of hammocking information on the web (theultimatehang.com is a good place to start) and I’m always learning something new. It is important to select the right hammock style for your indoor or outdoor purposes. I don’t often have a problem with the hanging hook rubbing the ropes but if I do I just wrap and tie a bandana around it. The metal inserts inside the rope loop ends may come out and will fit snuggly back in. They should be removed if you wash the hammock bed, I think. They prevent abrasion and I ordered extras via Amazon; not all non-Vivere hammocks come with them. Recently I have been trying different approaches for dealing with the cooling effect on the underside of the hammock with good success. When one is tucked up warmly in one of these hammocks, it is impossible to stay awake! Update 1-25-2023: It's more than five years after buying my first Vivere hammock and I'm still very happy with it and the additional ones I have bought. I use them indoors and find them so comfortable that I cannot stay awake in one. I found a Sunbrella fabric chaise lounge cushion with a headrest and the right thickness which has made my hammocks even more comfortable. And a rectangular pillow can provide support under the knees if needed. It only gets better!

Relaxation time is always a good time UNLESS......
I received this item in a large box not that heavy my 15 year old daughter carried it to the back yard as well as assembled it herself with me supervising the assembly but it was so simple to assemble I'm pretty sure she could have figured it out herself with no problems the instructions are there but once you see Vivere's Promo video or Instruction video you will see how easy it is to assemble. As far as the materials the tubes are a bit thick to be able to hold some weight not powder coated all the way but for me it's not an issue don't know if with a couple of Winters it will start to rust won't be a problem for me I'm keeping mine in the garage after Spring and Summer in it's carry bag that is also included. I would recommend the nylon sleeve from Vivere and yes I bought it it wasn't given to me ( Not advertising just recommending) you put in on as if it was a sock roll it up disconnect one side of the hammock pull until it gets to the other side reconnect it then go to the other side and repeat. Why the sleeve well my hammock is under a tree that has shade starting from 9 a.m. and on will protect the hammock from the little bit of sun, tree seeds falling, bugs, dirt if any, and bird doo doo. throughout the day. I also ordered the wheel attachment to be able to move it a bit further to avoid any of the mentioned above well will have a bit of more sun but that's okay. Daughter got into it and her first comment was it is so cool because of the air circulation on the bottom and how the material breathes and wraps around my body (2nd comment) that would be because of the distributed nylon straps that are evenly sewed on to distribute the weight and expand the hammock. Had the ultimate test on it and would say I wouldn't recommend it for mischief kids ( nephews ) came over bright beautiful colors caught their attention started rocking the hammock if continuous rocking it would loosen it from the screws. Managed to flip it over after swinging from it vigorously had to explain to them that it wasn't a swing it was a hammock after putting on the sleeve it was like a deterrent another use for Vivere's sleeve never got close to it guess the green grayish color wasn't inviting to them. My other daughter got into the hammock as well just so we could see how it would feel with two persons inside of it since it was advertised as a 2 person hammock I'll say 130 Lbs. and the other 120 Lbs. no problem they were and looked so comfortable in it not squished together and when 1 was getting out of it no problem at all. Another thing Vivere also sends you extra tube rubber caps would say just in case 1 rips or gets lost etc. nice touch as well as the Vivere gold plated emblem on one of the tubes that attention to detail to me is pretty important because it shows that they have pride in what they are manufacturing. Overall I am very satisfied with the Vivere hammock now my daughters want one of their own which I will definitely be purchasing that's how much they enjoyed it themselves and not to mention Vivere's variety of colors to chose from pretty sure there be one there to please their eyes as well as their souls when lying down in one of their own and enjoy life and think about nothing well until the cell phone rings. Any questions let me know I will see if I can answer it/them. Take care.

Portable relaxation ... and a stand up company that supports their product.
Purchased this item as a gift for my wife and picked up during one of Amazon's daily deals. What drew me to this was the "portable" nature of the frame assembly. I wanted something we could take camping, to enjoy the shade of our campsites to relax and (probably) nap in. The package arrived fairly well packaged, only a couple minor paint dings, which weren't sufficient to make me unhappy. What did make me unhappy was the improperly manufactured cross arm. The holes weren't aligned properly, and the resulting assembly didn't sit level. So much so, that one foot was upwards of four (4) inches off the ground. As this was a gift, I was very disappointed. Since the product carries a full year warranty, I opted to reach out to Vivere to see what their resolution would be, rather than contact Amazon and go through a full on return and probable repurchase (potentially losing the great daily deal pricing). Vivere responded the next business day to my email. Part of their warranty claim process requires that the customer provide photos of the defect. I did, and they provided with a FedEx tracking number right away. Nothing for me to return. I just had to wait for the part to ship out and be delivered to me. Fast forward to after the replacement part arrived, and all is good. The unit assembles very quickly and easily. It's stable. I will point out that that there is a supporting thumb screw for the middle of the cross arm. It is CRUCIAL that this be installed as per the instructions. Without that seemingly insignificant item in place, you risk disaster as the cross arm will bow once a person climbs into the hammock. Once assembled, the hammock is fairly easy to get into and out of. The colors of the fabric are pretty accurate in the photo, the cords/rope for the ends of the hammock are golden colored, which isn't very clear in the photos. This product satisfies my desire to have something easily assembled and disassembled for storage and transport. The included carry/storage bag is amply dimensioned to make easy to put the parts in and not require a degree in Tetris mastery to get the bag zippered close. The only thing I would like to see is a storage bag for the "parts". I used a sandwich zip lock bag to hold the two hammock hooks and five thumb screws to prevent them from wandering around loose in the carry bag. I also re-used the plastic shipping bag that the hammock itself came in; I folded it up, and slid it back into the bag to keep it from getting tangled into the tubes of the frame. Are either of bags required? No, but, it would be nice to have something from the company for better storage organization. Yes, even though I received a product with a defectively manufactured part, the company maintained full email dialog me, in a timely fashion, and made good on their warranty replacement policy. So, I give it a 5 star rating. At the discounted price I paid via the Amazon deal, this is a great purchase. Even at the regular Amazon discounted price, it's a good deal. I even feel that MSRP is still a fair price for what you receive. I recommend this product, and the company. I would purchase this again with the confidence that if anything were to go wrong, the company would make it right.

Is it too early to be OBSESSED with this hammock? Too bad - I'm in love!
I don't think I've ever been so excited to get something in the mail! Could have been the super long and miserable winter, but I could not WAIT to get this set up. Luckily, setup was a breeze and required no tools whatsoever. Screw about six things in by hand, loop the hammock over the hooks and you're in business. In less than ten minutes, I was enjoying my first hammock ever! Some others mentioned an odor/smell, but I didn't notice anything. I set this up outdoors in about 70 degree weather and didn't notice anything and I'm highly sensitive to smells, esp that new plastic/manufacturing smell. I didn't have any struggles putting the pieces together, either. It was so easy to put together and I truly did appreciate not having to use any tools to screw anything into place. I logged about two hours in the 'mock today and I have to tell you, there's no uncomfortable position. I initially was a little skeptical that I'd like a hammock that was so wide (seeing the hammock 'burrito' pictures some others posted left me curious), but I've found that the wideness can sometimes provide some shade, too. There are so many ways to lie on this and it's just so cozy. I opted for the cotton hammock (color: tropical), and not the sunbrella fabric. The cotton is super soft and durable. I will take the cotton hammock part in the garage when not in use, but will leave the stand in the yard all summer. The hammock and stand seem very well-made. I had no hesitation about moving around in it and getting in and out. This hammock can accommodate up to 450 lbs. I had my boyfriend join me in the hammock, but it was kind-of cramped and, as he said, "it's not my thing". Pffft - more hammock for me! The hammock and stand come with a carrying case, too. I don't imagine I'll be transporting my hammock any where, but it does indeed break down easily and fits in a very nice little bag if you want to hammock somewhere else. Nice addition. So far, I'm very impressed! I'll update this review at the end of the season and note any flaws or issues, if applicable. For $130 (as of this writing), I'm very happy and look forward to wasting away the summer in this!

Good Quality Construction. Comfortable for Sleep.
Very good quality. Easy to assemble. I was able to put it together, by myself, within 20 minutes of taking it out of the box. The one sheet instruction guide could, however, be a bit more helpful. This is a very comfortable hammock. I'm not sure I would feel so comfortable with another person resting in it with me, but it certainly can accommodate two. As some other reviewers have done, I purchased this to serve as my main bed. My sleep pattern has definitely improved. I am waking up more refreshed, and medically speaking, I have noticed far less problems with swelling in my legs, ankles, and feet. I have also noted a big improvement in the way my back feels in the morning. I continue to monitor the stitching at the ends for any signs of early breakdown as a result of daily use for 6 to 8 or more hours each night. So far all is intact and demonstrates quality in its construction. I appreciate the ability to adjust the placement of the ends as the fabric stretches. Two small caveats to mention. 1) I am 5' 7". To get out of this hammock I find it is helpful to have a small footstool available. I could lower the overall depth of the hammock, but I have found that to do so reduces my overall comfort when sleeping. 2) Another reviewer mentioned an odor. There was a slight odor that came from the inside of the tubing when I first took the product out of the box it came in. Perhaps my olfactory sense has dulled over the years, but while it was mildly unpleasant for a few nights, IF I placed my nose right up to where the tubing opened, the odor dissipated by the end of night three. If you are very sensitive to odors, however, be aware this might be of concern for you. Overall this really is a Five Star product, but leaving room for perhaps a future revision that would allow the overall footprint of the frame to be adjustable up to a foot smaller, I will go with 4 stars. It is also nice to know you can purchase replacement hammocks, if needed. I plan on picking up a few more of these to function as guest beds, or for sleep overs when my grandchildren visit.

Amazing hammock and great seller!
Fantastic hammock! The base/frame is very sturdy and stable. I like the adjustability of the placement of the hammock on the frame. The hammock itself is quite durable and strong, yet soft and comfortable. Love the color I chose, very summer-y. I also love that you can safely break down and store the hammock in the accompanied bag in the seasons we won't be using it. I also want to mention that this seller is very communicative and honest. For some reason my original purchase said it shipped via FedEx, but then nothing happened. Before I was due to receive the package, the seller contacted me through Amazon and said they were keeping an eye on it, that it hadn't progressed during shipping and if I didn't receive it, they would send a replacement. I later received another message from them that they were sending the replacement, and that one arrived in a timely manner. This seller also deserves 5 stars for their integrity and thoroughness. Thanks!!

14 years later and still sleeping in it every night!
About a decade ago, I replaced my traditional mattress bed with a hammock and never looked back. This is the hammock stand I have been hanging my hammocks on and sleeping in every night for 10 years. The stand is sturdy, stable and easy to put together with no tools. It comes with a carrying bag that holds the whole setup and has the instructions sewn on the outside. It's not a small bag, nor is it light, but you could easily put it in a trunk or backseat. My only complaint is that depending on where your weight is in the hammock, the hammock ropes may rub against the wingnut and/or bolt that comes through the frame. I solved this by using some neoprene rubber from a mouse pad to fashion a washer that I put on the outside of the stand to take up some extra length on the hook bolt and screwed the wingnut down accordingly. I've noticed on newer models, the design had changed slightly and this is no longer an issue. I highly recommend this setup. I love that it can accommodate hammocks of different lengths and is so compact, sturdy and easy to assemble. The stand alone is worth the purchase price! Edit 10/22/15: I've had this product for 2 1/2 years now and wanted to report back on it. The stand is still in excellent condition despite the damp Northwest weather, and is still in daily use. In fact, at least three other people I know of have bought this combo to replace a mattress setup at home and are still, to my knowledge, using it happily. Since I bought this setup it's also been through many moves, been used as a guest bed, loved by cats, and survived some...dynamic forces for which it was probably not intended! It's been rock solid with over 400 lbs in it. I've used this stand with the hammock it came with, as well as nylon camping hammocks, and the range of adjustability has made it easy. I've retired the original hammock it came with, since it's pretty much blown out after a hard life, and am replacing it with a homemade tablecloth hammock. I've since learned more about hammocks and can add the caveat that no matter the length of the hammock you use in this stand, you will have a 9ft ridgeline and roughly a 4ft hang height, so the ability to fine tune your sag is a bit limited. That said, you can adjust the hammock length by adjusting where you hang it on the stand, so you have some wiggle room, and the hang angle that's built in is pretty close to 30 degrees to my eye. I see this stand continuing to serve me for a long time. It's a great portable hammock solution and the easiest way to have a hammock in an apartment or small space. The stand still comes apart and sets up easily, even if it's been left set up for a while. I do recommend using a tiny bit of grease on the threads of the bolt if you want to make sure they don't seize up. Update: 12/08/18 Yup, still using this hammock stand and still sleeping in it every night. I'm on my third hammock bed now and think this stand might last forever. Still no signs of rust, despite the North West damp and no signs of wear. I've moved houses several times. I've stored it in a storage unit that wasn't climate controlled for a couple weeks during winter and both the stand and bag show no signs of mildew. I've attached both steel and aluminum carabiners to the hooks with no problems. I thought by now that the rubber end caps, the curved washers, or the plastic hand bolts would have broken, but the hardware is still in great shape. I've also converted another person into a full-time hammock sleeper after they tried mine out and they're using this same stand happily and they weigh about 300 lbs. Just buy it. Update 11/28/21: What do you know? Still using this hammock stand every night and loving it! It's been about 10 years and all the hardware is in great shape and it's just as sturdy as ever. I've converted at least 4 other people to full time indoor hanging and to my knowledge, all are still happily using this stand with no issues. I've learned so much about hammocks now and can add that if you're over 6ft tall, depending on how you sleep, you may not get the flattest diagonal lay on this stand because the ridgeline is limited to 9ft. For that reason, at a certain point extra hammock width will not matter, so I wouldn't bother with a hammock bigger then a double as you'll just have extra fabric in your face. I've had pets, partners and friends hang with me, including tall folks and big folks. I've broken down and reassembled it countless times. I've moved it and stored it in damp places. I've subjected the stand to vigorous adult activities with no failures (of the stand, anyway!). I've used a wide variety of hammocks on it, and even added an underquilt to my current setup. I've built blanket forts over it because I'm an adult and I do what I want. I've never left it outdoors in the rain, so I can't speak to that, but I've used it in every other way imaginable. I even tried switching to some indoor-specific wall anchors for my full time hanging and came right back to this hammock stand. This stand is, without a doubt, the easiest way to hang a hammock indoors, whether full time or intermittently. If you have a 9ft by 4ft space, you can have blissful hammock hangs anytime you like, for years to come. Just buy the darn thing! Edit: 8-17-26 I'm still sleeping in this hammock stand every night. I own three of these stand now. I grease the pipe connections when they start to squeak. All the hardware is still going strong. Vivere has made minro changes to the hardware and accessories over the years, all good updates. My stands are still going strong and work great with every kid of hammock I've used in them. This hammock stand will probably out last me.

Best purchase!
Best purchase, I've always wanted one, but I am normally too heavy for such things. This has a high weight rating, and I was excited. It's exactly as described and the photo, it holds my massive weight, it's comfortable, I feel safe, it's easy as, to pack up and put out! would 100% recommend this amazing hammock! I got one for my brother too, and he loves it so much as well.
