Rapid channel change. Don't freeze. Linux operating system makes it unique. Easy programable with adequate image. You can see video of current channel on ur computer.

Dreambox 500s needs additional work
So far I like the Dreambox 500s even though it currently doesn't work for me. The unit come with all the European satellites but not the US ones. The instructions don't tell you this, at least not explicitly.Luckily the unit is popular so there is a lot of on-line help.It took me awhile to figure this out since I am new to the satellite technology.I am now waiting for my null modem, a special serial cable to communicate with my PC so I can reprogram the unit with the North American satellite information. The internet connection does not reliable for this, according to the on-line posts and didn't work for me.I am optimistic that this process will succeed, especially since there is a lot of on line help on the process and I will have success getting satellite reception.The Dream 500s is LINUX based and very compact - nicely built so I am looking forward to getting it to work with the North American satellites.

a "get-what-you-pay-for" item
first, the good: it does what it says....the bad: very cheap construction; light on features; took a while to get 'set up'my opinion: if you can help it, purchase something else; it'll just save you time down the road. sonicview makes nice products for a little bit more money.

Not an original DreamTV product but a very good quality copy
Excellent value for money. This is one of the better DM500 copies you will find. I highly recommend this supplier!
