Excellent telescope!!! The definition of grab-and-go scope! Just a great little scope set-up!!
This little Orion SkyScanner 100mm really has impressed me thus far!!! I have owned it for about a week or so, will keep on observing with it and continue to update this review. I have been working in the field of astrophysics with telescopes of all sizes for 5 or more years now and this little Orion 100mm kicks butt!!!! You are able to get great views of the planets and the moon with the provided 10mm and 6.3mm lenses. Adding a Barlow or additional lenses really adds value to this scope too. Without any upgrades, you will be able to see everything interesting to a city stargazer and then some. With some minor upgrades (a Barlow and some high power lenses), you will be able to impress yourself. The red dot finder scope works wonderfully once aligned and the tripod is super nice!! The tripod is well built, has the Orion name on it, is fully adjustable (even fine tune-able height crank to bring scope to proper height easily, and has a level to tell you whether it is sitting flat. This scope is great on a table, but even better on the provided tripod!! This lil’ telescope is wonderfully upgradable, impressively functional, beautifully crafted, and perfectly sized to grab on the go!! Don’t be expecting more than a little scope with a 100mm aperture and 400mm focal length (f/4 focal ratio) can give when buying this scope, but for ~$100 you can definitely expect to see some awesome views and learn a lot about telescopes!!!

Fun and Simple
It's a snap to put together. Took very little time. Then we waited until it was dark and carried it, easily, to the yard to look at the moon. My 11 year old and I had a blast looking and discovering. It's certainly a beginner's scope - but then, that's what we are!

Slight Confusion but Overall good purchase
Bought this as a gift for my wife. Got charged full price by Amazon but was only sent the telescope with no tripod. Found out it ships separately which I don’t believe is in the listing. Either way it’s a good scope and she was thrilled.

you get what you pay for
first one I ordered had a cracked/split mount. I'm on about my 8th viewing session and now the replacement mount is starting to give. Tripod is cheap too. I plan on trashing the dob mount and rigging it to a custom mount. The scope itself is great though. I love its size and when the dob mount is taken apart (screw driver/2 cressent wrenches) it travels well.

Very Good Telescope
This is a very good introductory telescope. You can clearly see details on the moon's surface and it brings more clarity to other celestial bodies. Well worth the money. The tripod stand is definitely a plus.

We love it!!
We watched all the videos, educating ourselves on how to set up, find planets, calibrate the EZ finder reflex sight scope on the side, etc. etc. Which I will tell you, the finder scope was a massive bonus and helped us learn how to use the telescope and find planets faster than watching how to videos. My 15 yo dau literally broke down and cried the first time we picked up Saturn and Jupiter. It was emotional for her and the clarity was amazing. We downloaded a couple apps that help us indentify stars, along with several different lenses and a moon filter that we purchased at the same time. I do recommend doing research and buying the lenses needed up front. We live out in the country and use the telescope quite often.
