Great Tool!
These "pill-poppers" are a god send to our house. Our worst monster kitty to pill came down with Hyperthyroidism (thanks, high iodine fishy food!π ). Now, because we can't afford the radiation treatment (over $1,200), and she is not a candidate for surgical removal of the tumor due to a heart condition, she will get two pills a day, every day, for what we plan on being a long and full life for her!Knowing that this had a soft rubber tip gave me comfort as I didn't have to worry so much about my aim as I was trying to open-not get bitten-quickly insert Piller-push plunger then RUN! When you push the plunger, It seems to make a nice little "pop" sound and you know the pill is in (you just have to make sure it doesn't come out)! I run water over the tip to remove any pill debris and let it dry for the next 12-hours-later pill. After about a month, she doesn't love it, but she no longer tries to eat my face off---it's AWESOME! What I'm not in love with on the piller is the "ONE TIME USE" verbiage on the syringe. I can't imagine only using it once? That would be such an incredible waste, plus I don't believe it's recyclable, otherwise it wouldn't be so horrible; it's just not ideal to only use it one time. Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't use it regularly? Another feature of the piller that doesn't make sense to me is that it has a syringe that, supposedly, you can use to pull water or some other liquid into and then insert the pill so it is washed down when you plunge. Again, I don't know if it's just my luck or what but I have two cats (pictured) on long term meds and both of the pills turn to mush when exposed to water. If they were coated pills it might be fine. I've recommended these pillers and also bought them for my parents for their dogs. I'm quite sure I'll be buying another at some point too. I recommend them!

I never thought I needed something like this, but my cat is on chemo and I'm not supposed to touch the pills, so I thought I'd give this a try...all I can say is, I wish I'd bought it sooner. I can literally shoot the little pills down the cat's throat, incredible. For larger pills I had to cut the tip open a little more, and it wasn't successful the first time, because she spit the pill out, but the second time was successful, which is equally amazing, as I've never been able to give her large pills by hand before. The product seems like maybe it isn't designed for this application though because the tip has to be cut back to fit even the smallest of pills and comes cut back, and it's obvious someone just used some scissors, and it says "single use" on the device. Not problem though, and as I said it works well, and I'll come back and give it five stars if the product holds up for a decent amount of time.

NOT FOR SMALL DOGS
I'm not really impressed with this syringe. We have small dogs, so the pills we give are small, and ofter we have to cut the pills in halves or quarters. The pills will not stay in the end of the syringe without falling out.

Changed our pilling routine!
These have changed our lives! My cat has kidney disease and must take azodyl pills every 12 hours. He hates being pilled, making every morning and evening a dramatic struggle. This piller allows me to suck up some water, then place the pill at the top, and deliver both pill and water at the same time, so he doesn't have to dry swallow anymore.Dry swallowing is not only uncomfortable, but the pill may not go all the way down, sitting in the esophagus for hours, especially in cats. Now I don't have to force that on my cat, he can swallow pills quickly and comfortably with water with this pill gun. Its quick and easy to use, so now pilling takes less than a minute

Not as good as I had hoped
Not as good as I had hoped. One has a twist in the plunger, which can catch the pill instead of projecting it, and both are too short. Also, the action is a bit to tight.

Best I've Found And I've Tried Them All.
As pill poppers go, this is the best design ever. It grips the pills like no other and, owing to a slick surface on the end piece, allows for easy sliding down the back of my cats' throats. They no longer gag as they did with the little blue-tip white ones (that look like a stick) or the little short ones that never worked. Also, having these has allowed me to up dosages on supplements without my little boy pulling that move where he induces vomiting to show me he objects to me giving him so many separate pills. He takes them with greater ease and doesn't object except on rare occasions. Good luck.

Oh yes, this works
My cat needs to take 1 capsule twice a day for a month. Although he is a gentle cat (thank goodness), he got really good at rejecting the capsule with his tongue -- once sending the capsule about a foot into the air. Well, hiding medication in food has never worked for him either -- he doesn't wolf things down. THIS little unit allows me to fill it with a couple of milliliters of water, stick the capsule into the soft rubber end (which means there are no hard sharp edges in his mouth) and place the capsule at the base of his tongue, following it immediately by the water, which then causes him to swallow. Oh yes...

Don't waste your time. They don't work any better than trying to stick your finger down your dog or cat's throat
