Gutsy! My sixth year using it now!
A great string trimmer with plenty of guts. I hadn't owned a string trimmer before and picked this one because of good reviews; I'm glad I did. I'm tall so I love the adjustable handle--no uncomfortable stooping, yay!--and it actually does bump feed very well. The only problem I had was that at first I couldn't get it to work, well, turns out that the battery wasn't seated properly. You must mount it on the handle and then give it another fairly hard push to get it to click down into place. Once I mastered that it took off like a shot and I have whacked down an impressive amount of weeds and even some dried weeds from last year--don't forget your goggles, because it does throw a lot of chopped stems on you even with the guard. Another reviewer mentioned that you need to stay out further from plants and fixtures than you think and I second that; I whacked off a couple of my garden plants because I was closer than I realized, oops! So definitely stay further back from the utility connections and so on! Seems fairly light and easy to maneuver. I find that I can even use it right-handed or left-handed because it is so nicely balanced. A great trimmer and I am very pleased with it. Totally recommend. Update October 2019: I have used this all summer and into fall and I am still 100% pleased with it.Update May 2020: I stored the battery indoors and the trimmer outdoors over the winter. A few weeks ago I charged up the battery, mounted it on the trimmer and it started right up! Once again I am mowing down weeds and long, rough grass like a hot knife through butter. Can't ask for more from a weed trimmer! Still 100% pleased.Update May 2021: Once again, I stored the battery indoors and the trimmer outdoors over the winter. Today (5/22/21) I charged up the battery, mounted it on the trimmer and once again, hot knife through butter. How many years of hard wear am I going to get out of this trimmer and battery? This is year three and I hope many yet to go!Update May 2022: Once again tearing through weeds like a hot knife through butter! This is year four! A wonderful tool and has been ultra-reliable.Update May 2023: Still whacking those weeds! The battery charged right up -- in fact it kept most of its charge all winter! -- and started right up without any trouble. The best weed whacker ever.Update April 2024: Once again stored the battery indoors and the whacker in the shed. Charged right up and tore through weeds and grass like it's brand new; bump feed still working smoothly! The BEST weed whacker.

power and battery life
I bought this in the package with the hedge trimmer v60. with the idea being i wont need to hedge as often and ill have a spare battery for the weedeater. turns out that may not be even neccessary as the battery for this thing got most of my large yard done on lo and high before dying. i have a 20 foot square hedge that needed trimming down though and i suspect one battery is going to cover the whole yard under normal use. ir ran for almost two hours before dying. this thing is light and powerful i was able to trim my hedge and some juniper we have in the back yard with it. battery charges in a little less than two hours. i was not as impressed with the hedge trimmer as it does really good with bush leaves and small branches but struggles on the larger one. (im glad i didnt buy the v20 series like i started too). despite the limitations of the hedge trimmer, its ok for what it is, having an extra battery for the weedeater which is amazing makes it worth the purchase. i just use handclippers for the larger branches. assembly on this thing was straight forward and simple and it came with cord already wound and extra cord in the box. a nice touch.

This trimmer saved my life
I went through 2 other weed wackers before I found this gem. This thing has as much power as the gas one I tried, but it doesn't make your hands fall off from vibration. About 90% of the time I use it on the low setting and I have enough battery to trim and edge both the front and back yard with plenty of life to spare. I think I read a review on here that said the owners manual says not to use it as an edger... I wouldn't know, I didn't read it. It works just fine as an edger for me. It's very light but it's plenty durable for when you need to bang it on the ground for more line. Once I got used to the cutting dimensions the line actually lasts quite a while. I've only had to respool it once so far and I've been using it at least once a week for about 6 months. You can get this trimmer and move on with your life, or you can buy one of the others with 3,000 fake reviews that will last you less than a day.

Lots of power and seems well built
This is a really good weed wacker. Note that the bankrupt Sears company still uses the "Craftsman" name on some of their products but it is not the same as the "Craftsman" company that was recently bought up by Black & Decker and sold here. The one that Sears sells is a piece of junk. Not this one!It is a bit heavy due to the big batteries but still manageable. Spooling it up is fairly easy. It uses the thicker plastic cutting wire for better performance. When doing really heavy weeds you need to start at the top and work your way down the stalks are else the weed stems will wrap around the motor axel and stop it. Tough built electric weed wacker that should last for awhile. I'm giving it a top rating. It has the great Craftsman quality of old.

Stronger than a Stihl FS90 gas powered trimmer!
After two weeks I have decided that this is the best trimmer ever. I have owned a Stihl FS90 commercial grade trimmer but this Craftsman trimmer leaves the Stihl in the dust when it comes to trimming. The battery life was excellent and I never needed the "high" speed setting. The low speed setting supplied the perfect amount of torque at a very low speed to cut through the toughest grass and weeds. I have no idea how long the battery will last but after about 30 minutes of trimming and edging it was still going strong. Highly recommend!

Works great!
My husband is the one who uses this. He says it does a good job. His only problem is he is 81 years old, and it is a little bit on the heavy side, making it harder for him to handle. Works great, though!

Bonne solidité.
Bon, mais un peu dispendieux.
