good start
If you are someone without experience in nutrition and exercises, and you want to enter in a new lifestyle, this is very good book,5* . He is giving some explanation in every chapter so it is not difficult to understand "why" to do like that and he is trying to teach you all you need to start. And you also have complete workout programs, so you get all you need. Is he right or not in his statements,(or is the workout program best or not) I think for beginner is not so important, this is not writen to be a "bible of exercise physiology". Everybody with several years experience can find here something what is not 100% correct, but once more, this is a book for beginners who want to enter in a world of exercising and fit life and they get a complete solution in one book. Very easy and simple to read, high print and photo quality. If you are experienced trainee and interesting for new methods to be stronger and build bigger mass, this is not for you, nothing new here, for you this is not a knockout program, for you this book is ony 2*

Great Workout!
I really liked this workout. I found the meal plans to be helpful and I really enjoyed the change in routines. Mario really mixes it up and gives a full body workout between weights, sports, yoga, dance, etc. I thought it was a lot of fun. If you're just getting into the gym for the first time or returning after some time off - this is a great place to start!

Outstanding Fitness Book
I have read hundreds of fitness books, attended hundreds of exercise gurus sessions, however, this book by Mario Lopez finally has given me the correct knowledge on how to stay fit for life. Through weight lifting, cardio, yoga, boxing, running, eating properly, I have noticed that my body has changed and I feel younger than ever before. I am 57 years-old, and my Doctor has recently told me that I have a body of a 40 year-old! My students could not believe that I actually have muscles! Thanks for the advice, Mario. I suggest that everyone who wants to stay in shape, to get this book. You will NOT be disappointed!

More like a magazine
This was pretty expensive for what it is. It’s just like having a health magazine

If you want to see results with your body get advice from someone who is actually in shape.
If you want to see results with your body get advice from someone who is actually in shape. I'm tired of watching a bowflex commercial and knowing that the people in the ad actually get fit some other way and not using the equipment or diet. If you want to have Mario's body then follow his diet and workout plan. I've been lifting and working out for 30+ years and this is as good of a plan as I've ever seen. I even bought a copy and had it shipped to one of my college buddies of 25 years just to help him get into shape.

Only for beginners - even at the final phase
I must admit, i was excited to learn about this book at first. Why you ask? I did the LL cool J workout twice and got amazing results. However, it was time for a change. I got this book the other day and was very disappointed. Before I picked up the LL Cool J workout book, i was already fully aware of how to workout, how to eat.. yada yada yada. I have been working out for years prior to buying the book. But i was bored with what i have been doing. The book gave me something to follow, a streamlined plan of what to do, why to do it. It started off a little easy in the beginning, then got challenging, then very challenging.. just what i needed to vamp up my workout. after 20 hard weeks, i was able to pick a pair of weeks here and there from the workout until deciding to just do it all over again.. it much harder the second time around :)so, enough of the LL cool J workout. The AC slater workout just seems too simple. it is possibly good for beginners, however, i think after a beginner becomes advanced, the book will not be benefical anymore. the workouts are too sport specific, and after 6 weeks i don't see where you can improve.i gave the book two stars because of the good meal plans and the pictures of Katrina :)in short-the LL cool J book is great for beginners and will make someone who has never picked up a weight learn the moves correctly and soar from week to week..-the AC slater book is great for beginners, but is impractical for overall muscular development because it is just too sport specificin any case.. remember working out is only 30% of the road to a great body, you gotta eat right to look tight!

Viva Mario!
Beautiful color photogrpahs...practical illustrated exercise programs...excellent nutrition information and dietary suggestions...truly the best comprehensive "knockout" fitness program I have ever encountered for teens through seniors, male and female. And, Mario is an excellent model and practitioner for what he preaches.

you're not going to have a body like that. But what i paid for it
This book was okay, I can honestly say" unless you have the time, money for a personal trainer(not in this economy),chances are, you're not going to have a body like that. But what i paid for it, when I'm a little bored of my dvds, I'llutilize the book/diet plan. Of course, If you want to look at some "eye candy", this book is also good for that!!

Bad
For amateurs really, no solid info, his abs are so unsymmetrical on the picture and you won't get in the shape he is in without steroids.
