Genius CP-SF600 V2 Portable Document Scanner (CP-SF600 V2)

Well i have to say that this is a great sanner but it only worked for a year or so. But i have to say that it even scanned very large documents with good quality you just have to change the settings instructions.

The portable scanner is light and would be a great device.However, the software driver in the package does not include the version for Window 7. Factory's web-site has three Window 7 driver updates, but none seems to install well. I have worked well over 2 hours on the installation without complete success. It could have been that my PC has Win 7 64 bits operating system, while the update of the driver is only for Window 7 32 bits. Not entirely sure where the problem is. I would like to urge the manufacture to fix the problem.

I looked a while for a sub $100 compact scanner for my desk. (I already have a big expensive bulky flatbed I drag out of storage and use for slide and serious image scanning.) I wanted to use this to get all those everyday loose papers and receipts in electronic format and trash the paper and eliminate paper piles.As described the unit is compact and powered by the USB cable so it has a minimal footprint on your desk and doesn't consume an outlet. Along with the provided software it has two hardware buttons you can preset for one touch scanning. I have one set to scan as OCRed PDFs and the other to scan jpg. You simply press the button and it scans according to the buttons presets. You can also manually scan and use software button presets. It pulls the items right on through at a good pace and they display in the supplied scan/document management tool. From there you can sort your scans as you desire.I did have to cajole the driver a bit to install on Windows 7 - but I finally got it installed (So don't give up)For under $100 I could not be more pleased with the performance and options.

Easy to set up and use. Compatible with Outlook in the simplest way possible. Great device!

I purchased this product based on claimed features and benefits and also the quality association with the JVC Brand. After receivingthe unit and looking at the packaging and it's contents, there is no reference to JVC, and it does not mention JVC in any way on their website.I read the reviews from others that had bought the product. There were some bad reviews, but I ignored those because of the manypositive reviews. First of all the instruction manual or sheet is fairly clear, but with minimal information. No good troubleshootinginformation is provided. The website referenced for support, did not show this family of product.Site looked fine, but not easy to navigateand it is poorly set up to easily retrieve information. I could not locate the information on their site using the Part Number.After I installed the software and tried to scan, the unit would not feed at all. This product would befine if it worked out of the box like some people claim. Usually with Windows XP, adding devices is a breeze. Not in my case with this productDefinitely not a product that I would associate with a quality brand like JVC. Perhaps that is why JVC does not put their name on this product.nor will you find any endorsement of this product by JVC. I am sending this unit back, and will spend a little more money to get a known quality brand,with a reputation for quality and service.

Unstable and the tech support stinks! I bought this a couple of years ago and really, really love it ... except when it doesn't work. They tell you to use the SF600_V3 driver with Windows 7, but when I run it I get the message "Not support this OS." So I have been using the SF600 that came with the scanner. But every 3 months, the scanner stops working. I reinstall the software and it still doesn't work. I have been wiping my computer, but tired of doing it. I just bought another scanner.

I was looking for a small, reliable scanner. After reading reviews, I settled on this one, One review stated that windows 7 drivers needed to be downloaded & installed, no problem.I couldn't get win 7 drivers to oppen. Ran the CD provided with the scanner, have had no problems.. This is one of the best sheet fed scanners I have ever used. Reccommed this unit for any one.

This is a great little scanner. It scans anything from a business card up to at least a letter size page. I haven't tried a legal size page. I did have a hard time getting it to run on my computer which has the Windows 7 operating system. I was basically trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. After about 2 hours I finally got smart and went to the company site, [...], and downloaded the correct drivers. From there it was a cinch, only took about 2 minutes to have it up and running. I recommend if you are running Windows 7 that you download the proper drivers first. It will save you a lot of frustration.
