Price fits my budget, color suits my style
I like it so far. :) I purchased this to try out a midori-style notebook without spending too much. (If this works for me, I plan to invest in a real one since etsy.com has a ton of sellers with useful refills.) I bought the pink one for $16 (free shipping), 2 notebooks included - and it's adorable. It measures approx 4 inches by 7 inches, arrived within a week, and mine didn't come with the ZLYC stamp either. Phew. It might just be a watermark on the photo but it's hard to tell with what you can do with photoshop these days. The two notebooks are unlined and have sections alternating between brown and off-white paper, just like the pictures. The notebooks are stitched as opposed to stapled, if any of you are wondering. I agree with some of the reviewers saying the leatherette feels foamy, but I doesn't bother me. I like that it's thick. Some fauxdori covers look paper-thin and I didn't want that. I like the look and feel of the whole thing and I don't mind making my own notebook refills for the time being. I think the pink color is great and what I received matches the product photos. It's easy to travel with, fits nicely in my purse, and the best part is I don't have to worry about the color rubbing off/staining my other belongings. I'm not fond of the closure though -the straps are long for you to wrap it around then tuck in. I honestly might replace it with a pretty-colored 99-cent hair band from longs.

Nice enough for the price. Fewer pages.
This little notebook does a pretty good job of imitating the higher priced versions. I have the green one, a very nice textured forest green, although it's definitely plastic looking and feeling, very shiny. It comes with two inserts, although each insert only has 40 pages (80 sides), with half the pages cream colored and the other half the same shade of brown as the box it came in. (Five cream, five brown, etc.) Will be interesting to get used to that. Pages are stitched, which is nice, although it's hard to get them to lie flat for drawing, but I don't know how other journals compare in that respect. It ties with a leather-like rope with two metallic charms hanging off the end, nice little embellishments as a closure, but make so much clattering noise (as I expect was intended for a little sound effect) but I didn't find it enjoyable so I taped them together. All in all it's well worth the price for me as an inexpensive introduction to travel journals.

Looks better in picture
Basically, you get what you pay for. This is not bad, but it in no way looks as good in real life as it does on the computer. The cover in real life definitely has a vinyl look to it, as opposed to leather. The paper is kind of nice, though. It is not wafer thin and can withstand a Sharpie pen without bleeding through. The item is okay, but you should in no way think you are getting anything near a Midori quality cover. If you only have $15 and not $40, then you might be happy with this item, as it is still nice looking and has quality paper.

Better than pictured / How I attached the ruler
Two things I liked better than pictured:1. The color: I bought the pink color, but it turned out to be somewhere between pink and apricot color. 2. It does not have the ZLYC stamped in the bottom. The rest is as pictured. The bookmark - ruler is in centimeters, not inches. I would have preferred inches, but it is no big deal to me. I just knew I would loose it eventually, so I secured it to the book like this: I turned the book upside down, so that the longer outside piece where the rubber bands goes through, is on the bottom, the small piece on the top. Then I threaded one leather string of the bookmark from the top through the smaller outside metal ring and then knotted the two leather strings together. This leaves the strings long enough to put the ruler in the book. Now I feel better taking it places and knowing I won’t loose a part of it.

Cute at first but became less functional over time
I used this ZLYC traveler's notebook for a little less a year before finally giving up on it. When I first received the pink one, I was a little disappointed. I guess I did not read through all the details very well because I thought this was a standard size, but it is a personal size (3.5" x 6.5"). The cover I knew would be fake leather, but the inside felt like a velvety cheap felt. The outside of the cover felt smooth but not really leather-like. I immediately removed the string and attached an elastic instead to make closing the notebook easier. I liked the two notebook inserts, which alternate between nice cream and kraft-colored paper. I decided to give the TN a shot, anyway, because at the very least, it looked cute. Over time, the cover got smudged, and it was easy to clean but quite annoying. I could not fit more than 1 notebook insert and 1 folder without overhang. I also never used the ruler that came with the TN. I did learn that I enjoy the personal size a lot, though. I ended up buying another personal size TN by a different company, which I now love using. I will probably give my ZLYC TN to someone who will love it more than I did.

Not because it was a terrible buy, but because it was more than I ...
My mother bought me this for Christmas off my wishlist, and I wanted to cry when I opened it. Not because it was a terrible buy, but because it was more than I had hoped it would be. It's far more beautiful than the product picture displayed, and the leather smells so fresh. I began writing in it before even opening the other few things she had gotten me, I couldn't wait! The paper inside variates from a creamy white to a coffee-colored brown. With that, it makes it feel more real. The paper is thick and durable, so I've even done a few water color paintings inside of it to go along with my poetry and journal entries. I'd say that this would make the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys writing on the go, or snuggling up under a blanket and enjoying a nice cup of chai tea, and dabbling into their own thoughts!

I love this journal book
I love this journal book. However, finding replacement notebooks to fit is impossible. The website should show how to find the replacements.
