Jackson Galaxy Air Prey Wand for Cats with Retractable Cord, 32-Inch Adjustable Telescoping Length, and 4 Feathers

I don't think I've reviewed a cat toy before, but my cats and I love this one - I had to write something (: I got this out of desperation... My younger boy cat was constantly chasing and bullying my older girl cat. It was unpleasant for her before, but now she is a senior with health issues and I needed to find a way to stop him from stressing her so much.I discovered this toy on YouTube, and decided to try it. Because it's adjustable at 2 points (3 if you count being able to change the feathers to a different attachment), this wand toy is better than any of the others. I can make the attached toy move in distinctly different ways based on how far the wand and tether are extended. And the tether swivels, so that adds even more movement variations. We had so much fun, and all this completely captivated my boy cat in ways other toys could not. With the others, he quickly lost interest, but this one made him lasor focused. I was able to exhaust him, fulfill his hunting play needs, and his behavior toward my other cat greatly improved already. (She loves it too by the way! She plays like a kitten again! Afterward, she was extremely relaxed with lots of contented slow blinking...I was so happy to see her like this after being honestly terrorized by her brother lately.)It feels very well made, and I think it will last a long time. Well worth every penny!

I bought this cat toy because it plainly states in the description that it’s a package of 4. I only received 1 toy, and because it’s a third party seller, Amazon cannot rectify the situation. This is way too much money for one cat toy, especially when the string breaks easily, and if it doesn’t break, the cat cat bite it in half quite easily (that’s why I wanted the package of 4!). This is the second time I’ve ordered from these sellers (hoping they would not cheat me again), but they did. Both orders were supposed to be a package of 4, and neither order was…I was only sent one toy with each purchase. I’ve always been a fan of Jackson Galaxy toys, but no longer. Some of us can’t afford expensive cat toys that break so easily. I am one of those people. I love my cat, but she’s going to have to go without her “favorite “ cat toy, because I keep getting ripped off. BEWARE!! DONT BUY FROM THEM!!

Originally I would use feather toys and old fishing pole to get this effect, but now I get the same thing in a small telescoping wand. Kitty comes running when she hears it telescope. Its easy to move around and I try to replicate a bird flying around or a little critter on the ground. Cats will go crazy! This is a great toy for getting kitty to run/jump/roll which is healthy and fun for our furry friends. Once you have the wand just about anything works as an feather replacement just be careful some of them on amazon have small metal bells, which could harm kitty. Photo is of Whisp, shes a big fan.

Have you ever felt the kitty play time nerves? If so, I highly recommend this product. I've purchased two in the course of three years. I like how the toy extends and retracts from the armature and the recoil of the dangling feathered bit is cool too. It's a nifty entertaining device that both me and my cats have really enjoyed.

The media could not be loaded.  I currently own three of these air prey wands. My kitty loved this toy so much and I wanted a second one in case the first one broke. People were talking about the string getting tangled and I just didn't have that problem. Mine had lasted months. I got a second one a few weeks ago. And all of a sudden I understand what people meant. It started tangling immediately. It was useless in an hour. The string just started weakening like layers were coming off. And then it tangled so much It went from a being a long string to a short string in 10 minutes. It was bizarre. Meanwhile the first toy I had was still in good shape. So I just ordered another toy from Jackson Galaxy's site. I thought maybe it was some vendor on Amazon trying to duplicate the product. But the very same thing happened with the toy on Jackson galaxy's site. So the only thing I can think of is that whoever is manufacturing the product is using a different kind of string now. Because it's definitely not the same. And I don't think I can order another one until the problem is acknowledged and changed. Today is Sept 4, 2023. I do hope the manufacturer will repair this problem.

I have 2 feather wand cat toys, Da bird and Jackson Galaxy's. These replacement feathers fit easily onto each wand and have held up much longer under intense play than the feathers that came with DaBird. Jackson Galaxy feather that came with the wand is still holding up, but these replacements will fit that wand too when my cat destroys it. And they are much cheaper also

I have two cats who love to play with it. A Bengal that loves it so much he'll go hunting for it after I've put it away. I have to be careful about where I stash it because he'll climb, dig, in places he's not supposed to and knock things over to get at it.I just wish the string could extend a bit longer.. for when they catch the toy and try to carry it away. This is meant for their exercise not mine!

My cat enjoyed it, but now it cannot be used: the cord's simply too twisted. I used it twice and switched back to other wands.It's a shame, since everything else about this is pleasant: an easy to detach (and safe) hook, a pleasant sturdiness, not heavy, and the nicest is that when the cat would trounce off with their 'kill' you could quickly collapse the rod and gently put it on the floor for them to drag.

Product was expected to be a 4 pack of wands, but only one arrived in the parcel. Was going to return for a refund but would need to be sent to the US, too complicated, so decided to keep what I had received and write off the loss as a bad job.

My cats go wild for this toy. I love how it collapses down to fit in a draw.

The media could not be loaded.  Purchased on 13th Aug, received on 23rd Aug. The wand seemed to be pretty sturdy, retractable string and length. However, the feather looks filmsy. I would advise to get a few more wand attachment just in case. And it's odd that why do i need to buy 4 pcs of teaser wand. I hope the seller could sell it individually in the future.

Wish I could have given this a higher rating. My cats loved the toy, but it basically lasted all of 2 weeks before the cord connecting the feather toy to the want became a tangled mess that rendered the entire thing unusable. Definitely a disappointment especially given the price.

I love the idea and my cat enjoyed it from the first use. However after only minutes she had chewed some of the string and I realised it is very flimsy when in use. Hard to stop them chewing that. Not sure how long will last and I can’t get new string (just a new feather on end). A lot of money for this type of toy so expected better.
